Web version just worked for me, so either been fixed or was client side. Game was fun although it would have helped if I read the explanation first, it took me a while to realise I was a giant worm. Beautiful aesthetic, nice to rebuild at the end.
Fascinating and gorgeous little game. I got a score of 28, no idea if that's any good
Web version worked for me. This was really fun, the giant sandworm eating the city was a great mechanic. The rebuilding was not as interested, maybe there was some strategy to it that I didn't understand but I just wanted to get back to the eating buildings. Also great art choices using the colors. The sandworm movement was really neat, but the graphics were a little choppy, sometimes it looked a little collapsed or crumpled. Great game tho, neat idea.
Interesting game in 2 parts. The sandworm is really nice, and the controls are sweet. I died once but didn't see what killed me, maybe i'm blind or it's a bit subtle, or both ? City builder looks good. I'm not sure what I'm doing tho, it's maybe lacking some feedback to help understand what's good or not. Making 2 different game in one is hard in 48h, congrats !
I had a lot of fun playing this, though I'm not entirely sure what I was doing!
@yorsh The little bombs are probably what killed you, sometimes they're a bit hard to see because of the way I made the colours. Thanks for playing!
@joel-davis Yeah, the code I wrote to make the worm isn't very good at dealing with sharp turns, like the peak of a narrow jump, so sometimes it can get a bit choppy. Thanks for playing!
And thanks for @paulstraw @untitled-studios @scilly-guy for playing as well! :)
Pretty unique idea, gameplay, and the art style was a blast from the past! Nice surprise, you've got a good entry there. :)
Nice! ^^ both parts are very unique and satisfying. my score

I thought I was stuck while placing the buildings, took me waaay too long to understand that I can switch the layer.
Gave me a hungry shark vibe.
Nice entry!
Nice idea!
The art style is really nice, and it's cool you let the player express themselves with it in the level building stage, simple but effective, that loop of destruction and then creating works great :D image_2023-01-12_115945333.png
Great game! Probably the most impressive game technology/code wise I've seen this jam, and it's pretty impressive for only 48 hours. The worm harvesting part of the game is great, and I think you could easily continue to add features to it and make a full game! Also the monochromatic art style is very nice!
Interesting idea and alot of fun with this gameplay.
Want more sound feedback from my actions.
Greate work. Thanks for game =)
Very neat!
Harvesting the building to build my own is a fun game loop. Also getting to be creative and build my own little town was super nice.
Well done!
Hey, congrats on completing the game!! This is the first of its type with a bit fun controls and mechanism. Points for innovation for sure. Though game play is not entirely smooth as its hard to visualize how the worm will move. Art style is consistent so thats a good.
Nice game! I was unsure during the first part of the game if I was supposed to be looking for flat land somewhere to place the buildings the worm had been eating, but then it progressed to the second part, and then I understood that the first part was just about harvesting the buildings. Like another player, it took me a bit to figure out that I could change levels while placing buildings in the second part of the game, but once I figured it out, I had a good time placing the buildings. This was a very cool concept and I really liked the environment and art style! My score was 57 :)

That one poor homeowner who refuses to move out xD Always enjoy a game that allows me to make stuff! Awesome game ^~^
Super slinky game feel. I loved it and building your city was a nice contrast. No complaints, just wanted more! KUDOS
Honestly wasn't expecting this take on the theme but I liked it a lot! I jumped in pretty blind so having destruction followed by a building of my own was a nice surprise that I enjoyed.
Thoughts if you expanded this further: - Really could do with more audio feedback. Some nice rumbling sounds in the dirt and maybe screaming when you surface - It would be fun to have actual people to chase down and imply you're gobbling them up, but you just spit them back out into a nice, new town very confused - Additional items you might find in a city, like some trees, bus stops, etc. Something to just fill in the gaps between buildings and give it some more texture
Really nice entry! I enjoyed being a worm
Really neat, the worm controls were a lot of fun. My final score: 65. Took me a while to figure out how to really get a good amount of air with the worm.
Thanks for the feedback @deprecat! I definitely need more audio, I sadly ran out of time to do basically any by the end of the jam, so that would be great for sure. I hadn't thought of adding extra objects to eat, but that could be really cool as well. As for people, I avoided them in the jam version, just so I didn't *fully* go out of reasonable scope.
Thanks for playing, and thanks to @joey-shipley @rickylee @duzzondrums @arscene @roblaro @iminsoftware @forik @sisyphean-games @vivek-sharma20 @surrealsalad @pazzi @arron-fowler and @jimbly for playing as well! It's really nice getting all of the feedback. :)
I really loved the style and the gloomy mood of this game. It clearly has a soul!
It might be intentional but character movement felt a bit uncontrollable, it accelerates too fast for more 'precise' movement. Especially on the building part, I started randomly placing the buildings, but in quite a short time I ended up not being able to find empty spot in any layers because pressing on right and left keys the buildings slide more than it should and always ends up missing the tiny empty space.
But apart from these details I really loved the idea and the overall atmosphere! Great entry! Oh, and ideas @Deprecat suggested would fit so perfectly! It would be so much fun chasing down and devouring human/props!
That worm movement was fun to control for me! I loved wooshing around! I did wish that the sounds for the first half of the game were more present, the first half seemed so weirdly silent - especially the bombings.
This also sent me for a bit of a roller coaster. I was going from "Oh, I'm the monster!" to "Oh no!! Bombings!" to "OMG I'm remaking the city!!" which was very cool.
I also wished that there was more finesse with the house-placement system, just couldn't place buildings at the end cause of awkward spaces. Also, the awnings underneath the roofs of the arrow-shaped building still counted for an "overlap" which was kinda weird to me.
Still had fun tho! :3 Nicely done!

An interesting game, I think that the controls would feel a little nicer if they worked like this:
- up key -> accelerate - down key -> slow down - left and right -> rotate head left or right
But that is just my preference. I loved and am really impressed by how well the destruction of the buildings works and was quite surprised by the ending of placing the buildings. A really cool entry with some impressive tech in there. Well done!
Visual style and use of the colors was very nicely done. I also liked the sandworm feel, especially the way you had control under ground but were committed in the air, where bombs might be falling. It was an interesting and novel movement scheme. I felt like some nice sound effects during the salvage part would have made it much more visceral and really amplified the parts that are already good about it.
The building placement part was a nice break and gave a narrative purpose.
Nice job!
I love the controls, they feel so fun to play around with. I don't think I had any sound, a satisfying cronching sound when you nom the buildings would be great!
