Really nice twist of the classic .io's games. Wonder who this game as multiplayer would be.

danidev 2019-04-29 12:39

Well done on making this in such a short amount of time! The mechanics are fun and enjoyable, but I felt like the movement was a bit sloppy sometimes. Otherwise it was great, good job!

sode 2019-04-29 13:14

Realy great game but requires a ABOUT or a HELP tab

zondarg 2019-04-29 13:19

Fun game, and the enemies grow too! Yes, feels a little like the -io games, and multiplayer would work great, I think. Not easy to play, great job!

jsec 2019-04-29 14:52

Funny game, but i died like 20 times until figured out what the heck ;-)

von-vista 2019-04-29 14:54

VERY VERY GOOD GAME! I was like "ohh shit" when I opened it, could potentially be a very good and challenging .io game (like agar.io, or slither.io), great AI and mechanics man, loved it. Congrats!

simone 2019-04-29 17:50

Io's meet space shooter :) nice idea

deathbysnail 2019-04-29 18:23

Cool game

skoggy 2019-04-29 19:40

Nice game! The music/audio really made a lot of the mood. But it was really hard to hit the enemies when they are low on health :D Good job!

omnipotentindie 2019-04-29 23:55

Really nice, i like the concept, and it's very clean. Had me wrestling with the controls but i think that works for it, but the bullets are a bit too slow or it takes too long to kill

highlandbert 2019-04-29 23:58

I like how the enemies try to do the same as you, this could be turned into a multiplayer game as other have mentioned. You should try it!

lomna 2019-04-30 01:29

This needs to be a multiplayer game. Great audio , smooth controls also make the game more appealing. Nice work!!

mcccclean 2019-04-30 01:31

It's Osmos meets Asteroid! I like it!

keanutah 2019-04-30 01:45

Really had fun with this, nice work!

cheesepencil 2019-04-30 01:53

I tried my best but the bad guys always found more health before I could finish them off... made it to wave 3 without killing any of them lol

nick-rafalski 2019-04-30 02:19

At first I thought I had to eliminate all the enemies to clear a wave, and that was seriously frustrating. Then I realized that I could just survive the time, and it became a lot more chill of an experience. Basically agar.io without the craziness. The music and visuals really play to this too. Very unique!

liauj 2019-04-30 04:43

I felt like I was surviving, but I don't know if I was thriving. Shooting enemies was difficult, but I really liked being able to charge your shot into a giant ball of power! With a few tweaks, this could be really interesting as an .io game.

kovakomes 2019-04-30 07:27

Nice. Very nice. That is all.

shp 2019-04-30 07:37

A bit frustrating to try and hit the enemies when they move in such an erratic way and how long it takes for the projectiles to reach them, but I like the mechanic of collecting stuff and losing mass when you shoot

incd021 2019-04-30 09:53

Very hard, but really hit the theme on the head :) Nice job :D

barrier 2019-04-30 12:40

Super hard! But nicely follows the theme!

samueldeboni 2019-04-30 12:49

The main mechanic has a lot of potential, with some more development I can see a Great game coming out of it.

oivin-f 2019-04-30 17:28

Was very difficult, tried three or four times and didn't get a single kill. That being said, the game feels very polished and satisfying. Is the music procedurally generated? It sounds really interesting. Actually had the idea of making a Agar-type game myself for this LD

chrisdugne 2019-04-30 20:08

so difficult to hit an enemy :D I had a good time playing though! you should keep it going, the idea is nice how about grabbing the energies like a magnet when your spaceship is quite near ? I'd love a multiplayer on a game like this :D

anstabo 2019-04-30 21:55

Enemies dodge ability are superior to my ability to aim x)

oakwarrior 2019-05-01 14:04

Very cool and zen game :3 Can really take time to relax playing this. The controls are maybe a bit too fast to relax, but it's still very nice. Also, congrats on using Rust to develop this! Interesting choice!

reax 2019-05-01 14:09

Very cool game. It is hard (for me) to hit the enemies. Perhaps a bit higher travel speed on the bullets or slower moving speed for AI could make it more balanced.

trozen 2019-05-01 14:12

This game was really hard! I managed to only kill one enemy!

Things I liked: * The fact that you added an indicator to lead you to the enemies was a good decision. It would have been painful otherwise. * The AI actually tries to heal themselves! This made the game even harder, but it was still cool that I felt like I had to chase them down. It made them more interactive for sure. * You wrote this in Rust *and* there is a web build! That's awesome and definitely not something you see in LD everyday- well done!

Things I would change: * I would prefer more enemies that are easy to kill. * Make it easier to land shots. I'm pretty good at leading targets, but I really struggled in this game. Maybe player bullets could scale with his size? * The art style is a little boring, just circles and text. The particle emitter on your shots is a cool addition though.

neverix 2019-05-03 16:31

Are you from the Russian AI Cup team?

kuviman 2019-05-03 16:45

@neverix yes, I am, nice to meet you here :)

simon-rahnasto 2019-05-04 00:46

It was really difficult in the beginning, but thanks to your tips I started to actually manage to kill some enemies. I like this game a lot and I hope that you do turn it into a bigger game with multiplayer like you said that you might. Some of my favorite parts of the game were:

- The enemy AI, figuring out how they work is key to performing well in this game. - The shooting mechanic is a great way to tie the game to the theme. - The atmosphere and mood is excellent, great job on the music!

Hello @everyone!

First of all, thank you for all the feedback :) This is my first game jam ever, and it was a lot of fun!

Also, there is now a multiplayer version available! Still a work in progress, but it is already playable on http://lifeshot.io.

gamefive 2019-05-18 10:30
