it would be nice to have some kind of visual representation of the force your ship is exerting on the goats. also, it would be cool if they exploded if they hit the ground with a lot of force
Funny and plays well. Like the art style, but animations seem a bit slow. Would have liked a few more ways to do damage or some sort of comboing system. But for a Jam game, you guys got in a lot!
Really fun mechanic. Would have liked to see a bit more vertical levels than just the jump off the edge and hide that would get you through most of the game.
Really fun game. Controls, after a bit, were easy to pick up and the style was great. Would have liked to see a bit more variety in units or bits carrying over so that doing well in a level carried over.
cute, the movement is a really cool idea
Impressive game for 48hrs. I liked how high you could jump, however, it made it difficult to hit enemies on the ledges. I ended up running out of ammo as well, so it may be helpful to have the pistol have infinite ammo like many games, since it's more random if you have enough or not (Unless you have more chance for ammo the less you have and i'm just a horrible shot). When you run out of ammo, it would also have been helpful if you automatically switched to a gun that had ammo left, so you're not frantically having to search 1-4 to find a gun you can use. Overall though, great graphics and features.
Really hard game with only the single fireball, but a fun game. It would have been good to say what the controls are, but they were simple enough so not hard to learn. Also, it might have been my keyboard, but I couldn't hold the up/left arrows and shoot at the same time (The other directions were fine) making that direction kill me every time since trying to release both directions would make me jump to the top or left (Mouse controls would have been good).
rhythm based games are truly the ultimate. beat detection seems like it works a lot better on more fast-paced songs. it would be nice if i could close the game with x
top tier theme and art. control scheme is so meta
i like the artwork and simple gameplay. it would be nice if it was faster paced
Interesting concept. Would have been helpful to be able to attack in some way. Fun twist at the end to tie in theme as well.
I liked the 3d style. Too bad the interactions didn't really change the environment too much.
cool art. plays a little slow. i couldn't tell out when i would hurt enemies or when they would hurt me.
i like the alternate victory conditions. it would be nice if there was a way to know where the monster pops up, or a reason to not just hold down space constantly
Fun concept for a stealth game. Although the snow has a nice effect, it makes it difficult to see and doesn't really help out the gameplay much. Maybe have them fade out when you enter a house.
wat
Really liked the artwork and the direction the game was going. To bad there wasn't more time, would have liked to see how you used the death mechanic more. The delay in the jump was a bit annoying (Granted i'm not one for warm-up animations as a mechanic). Also on Windows, if you click out of the game, then click back in, you fall through the ground.
Fun runner game. It would have been nice if the difficulty increased on the infinite mode. (FYI, the .exe caused my avast antivirus to act up since it was "very new" or "very rare" which "makes it potentially suspicious", but not sure what you could do to change that, might just be since it's a straight download of a .exe instead of a zipped file)
The power up and speed increases definitely help out the gameplay. In Chrome 23, the blasts hit a bit off from where I click, not sure if it was just a browser thing or not though. Enjoyed the art and sound style.
The game is a bit buggy but fun. I ended up getting caught a in one of the walls when moving into a new room and saw a few guards pass through them. Also, on the instructions screen, it says to press space, but 'esc' is what takes you back to the main menu. Awesome game though and would like to see a few more weapons / levels, but for a Jam game, what you got in was great. Might try to set a min distance to exit though, one game it was two rooms away from the start.
Haha. Enjoyed being able to create the villain and sit back and watch as he destroyed sheriff after sheriff. Wish you could take the money you earned for upgrades on your next evil doer. Fun either way.
cute art style. man i wonder why all these villagers are so scared of me. +100 points for being able to escape from the level
fun gameplay idea. sounds made me giggle. a score and lose conditions would be cool
Fun arcadey game. the speed difference between the jumping men and the goomba bothered me though. It made dodging to the right nearly impossible, decreasing the number of strategies the player can use. For an interesting variant, you could have levels with an increasing number of jumping men that you have to take out, but the almost inverted running style is fun as well.
Really catchy music. The game mechanic of causing destruction was interesting but there was a disconnect on what you were actually doing and the harm done to the town. Maybe some icons for the different ways to attack would be helpful so you don't have to go back and look at the cheat sheet. Also, maybe some changes in the actual town would be nice. Fun game though, and glad I got accepted at the end ^__^
confusing interface. i couldn't figure out how to do anything. cool art and concept though
It's nice to see an interesting story in a jam game but the combat suffers a bit. I found myself running past enemies when I could. Also liked the framed animations. Although the orange text was difficult to read.
needs dimension preview
walking is way too slow. couldn't hear sound. cool writing though.
salutations fellow creator of cat-based gameplay experiences. cool game, but when i refreshed in the middle of the game it froze instead of taking me to the menu. weird.
really fun interesting idea. crazy hard though
a little slow. would be nice to have some indication of when it's your turn
ambitious project
Not mousepad friendly, really hard to click on the items. Had to get out my mouse (Which I was more than happy to because the game is a blast). The level with jedi on top and wookies on the bottom just keeps restarting when you win (Granted from the comments I guess that's the last one and it was a time issue). Would have liked to have more levels to play but I understand the time constraints ^__^.
Fantastic game. Great graphics, audio, and controls. I was curious if you would do a postmortem / tech post about how you all actually made the game. I've been trying out various ways to do 2d in Unity and you all have definitely nailed it.
Really good game and I actually learned something ^__^. Loved the art style and music. Would have been nice to be able to revisit notes. I kept forgetting what they said. I could also keep shooting when I ran out of ammo.
amazing lovely fantastic very good game
too much health
Haha, fun game. Really liked the artwork and music. Characters handle well and fun to play both sides. I couldn't find the third seed when playing as the crow one of the times though. Might have just been hidden.
wasn't entirely sure what was going on most of the time. You can beat it by spamming the stomp and only staying next to the crystals as long as you have to. I'm assuming the villain part comes in since you are killing a bunch of guys (The named tombstones was a nice touch). The Tower locator was helpful in keeping a bearing on where I was. One for the nearest crystals would have been helpful on finding the last few. Also, being able to see the AI states was fun.
cute story. as a fan of minimalism in game design this appeals to me
Interesting concept and loved the voice acting and story (Would have been helpful for it to continue onto the next text instead of just repeating itself). In would have also been nice to be able to revert back to the last night if you got caught instead of having to replay from the beginning (Although understandable since it's a jam game that that would take too much time). A bit more interaction between NPCs would have also been fun. Like if I cast rabies on a cow, they might infect others (This might have been in, but didn't notice anything).
Haha. Fun game. I definitely felt villainous when lighting the ants on fire, even if I was protecting my lunch. A bit hard to see the ants sometimes when they picked up the sandwich though, but not too hard to light them up. Upgrades for the magnifying glass would have been awesome.
fun theme and art style. a little too slow-paced for me
Enjoyed the game. The lag between action and what happens on screen for the mario minigame made it a bit difficult to play, however. This delay can be accounted for, but if you were going for the fast paced warioware like style, it could help if it was a bit snappier.
when i run it all i get is a solid black window :(
Nice use of the theme. The music was short but sweet and utilizing the three modes was getting rather interesting. I could see this going further if there was more time. It was a bit annoying being unable to move diagonally, but it may have just been my hardware?
Great use of the theme. Overall, it's a great game!
Didn't have any sound on mine, but other than that it looks great. Too bad you ran out of time to put more into the Jam version.
Lol, pretty good use of shinking mechanics imho. Could have been interesting if you could turn it back on yourself to get past certain puzzles.
Current best is 91 ^__^ http://imgur.com/Vp1Juht
Fantastic! Was really engaged and made it to practically all the endings (I think). The ctrl speed through is so useful and it made it really easy to run through the game looking for things I missed the first time! Not sure if black/white is minimal, but a fantastic experience none the less.
I'm not sure the best way to do some of the 'other' dialog choices, but ended up just going to menu then back.
The music was pretty catchy, but some of the transitions were a bit hard between tracks. Maybe a fadein/out would have helped with that. Also the darkgreen on blue made it difficult to see the ship. The red line of site was an interesting idea, but I guess you didn't have enough time to hide the barriers in the red? or was it just a cosmetic thing. Ultimately, though, the game wasn't really that difficult, and really only used the time rewind mechanic when I just a path that didn't have an exit since the visibility was low. Some really cool ideas though.
Really liked the style of the game. Are you using any sort of 2d library for Unity? And the controls aren't really that bad. The no north or south looking constraint actually makes it rather fun to have to flick shoot (reminds me of megaman) while running away. Is there some way to revive the second player? Music also really fits the game really well. As player 1, though, I had trouble getting out of some of the dialog boxes.
That escalated quickly! I never really felt the rounded turn snake games were all that 'tight' control wise due to getting into situations where i'm spinning in circles around what I want to pick up, but it's definitely useful here due to having to dodge bullets. Some sort of counter for how large a tail you have could have been nice.
Well, you sure followed the theme....
A bit laggy but congratz on getting a game finished and submitted (Something that is many times really hard to do).
Really good post apoc feel to it, especially with the music. It would have been nice to have a bit more feedback during combat though (maybe some audio hit sounds). And the character is so slow ^__^ Really impressive for a compo entry
Didn't quite understand the tic-tac-toe game? I'm you win because you have 2 diagonal x's? May have been good to highlight the part of the board that was used after you win.
The third game was also a bit ambiguous on what you were supposed to do. If I hadn't just run into the game talking to a friend a few days ago I would have been lost.
Didn't have any issues with controls, but found the solutions rather quickly. The music did pretty well at aiding to the overall mood, though.
Really hard to see since it was really small (may just be a monitor resolution thing though). The visibility mechanic was interesting, but it mostly just made me have to depth first search down paths (which got a bit annoying), which I would rather just let an AI do for me. Could have been interesting to be able to move the player with 'wasd' and the exit with the arrow keys and try to get them to meetup. This comes from the idea that many maze solvers like to start from both the start and the end.
Wish I had a second player other than my cat to try it out with. A heuristic AI would have been nice, but i know how time constrained dares are.
Really liked the cell shading and lighting. To bad you weren't able to get in more before the deadline.
