LD35 — Shapeshift

windowframe by managore 2016-04-19T12:57:00

Fantastic work! Very original idea and gameplay, with perfect platforming and puzzle action. Really nicely polished with slick graphics and sounds. It gets way too difficult for me in the last two levels, but still loved it all.

Cherokid by EdoMiyamoto 2016-04-19T13:25:00

Amazing, really unique and beautiful graphical style. I think there's an interesting idea there with the gameplay, but it didn't quite come together. Obtaining new powers feels a little anticlimactic, and overall the world feels kinda empty after the first area, although it is pretty enough to enjoy just walking around.

I'm Scree! by Jimjam 2016-04-19T10:37:00

Amazing! Cool idea and really well executed. The only thing that didn't feel great was the controls for retracting the tentacle, otherwise a really nicely polished game.

Pheee Strew Quest by razieliyo 2016-04-19T10:10:00

I'm not a huge RPG person, but for me I felt like the battles drag on a lot, would be nice to have fights that can be completed in 5 or 6 moves instead of 10+ moves. I'd also really like to see the UI improved a bit - use keys that are closer together, and when attacking auto-select the first enemy instead of a blank space.

Music has a really nice feel to it, and sound effects fit well.

Ghost Bird by torcado 2016-05-01T12:12:00

Really interesting and unique visual effect. I like the non-linear level layout, also for some reason pushing the buttons made it feel a bit more like unlocking doors than reshaping the environment.

My only complaints are that it was a bit annoying that I had to press the up key repeatedly to hover instead of just holding it down, and the death animations were a bit slow for something with such a high level of difficulty. Overall, great work!

The Fox Prince by EighthNote 2016-04-19T04:10:00

Cute concept. The difficult curve feels way too steep to me, especially the way the character moves closer to the top of the screen makes it impossible to react after you're a few seconds into the game. The hit detection also feels quite a bit off.

Across the pipe by chocobodorado 2016-04-19T13:13:00

Sorry, I could only get through the first couple levels before getting frustrated. The controls are quite floaty and unresponsive, and the combination of a fixed camera and disconnected floating platforms makes it really hard to tell where I'm jumping.

The graphics, music, and menu system do all feel nicely polished, and fit well together.

Big Star Gala by Rico 2016-04-19T10:22:00

Nice work. The stealth gameplay feels a little generic, but the story fits the theme nicely.

Forest Mage by Lewwwer 2016-04-19T13:41:00

Fun concept, really cute graphics. I just wish it had checkpoints, even if you remember all the spells it takes a lot to get back to where you were when you die.

Portal Shifter by PulsorHD 2016-04-19T10:46:00

Congratulations on completing your first game jam! I'm not too sure what's going on with the different people jumping over things, but platform jumping is always good for a challenge. It would be good if you could look at improving the precision of the hit boxes for the player and objects, since that plays a pretty big part in making platform jumping feel good.

LD37 — One room

Drunk Guy! by bramvanelderen 2016-12-13T03:38:00

Great work! Interesting mix of unusual graphics and gameplay, and the random levels do a lot to keep it feeling fresh.

Elementalist Escape by Sujisan 2016-12-13T04:00:00

The download link seems to be broken, I'm getting a security error in Chrome.

I Need More Room, Meow by ashtheevil 2016-12-12T10:43:00

It looks like the link is broken (404)

Poopy R**mba by Moritz 2016-12-13T10:40:00

Love that voxel art! It could probably stand to be a little shorter, some of the levels feel like filler.

The Labyrinth Room by savinvadim1312 2016-12-13T11:12:00

The game did make we want to see what was at the end of the Labyrinth. I feel like the timer should reset when you get back to the entrance, otherwise you just have to wait it out before you open the door again.

I'm sorry to say it, but the music was physically painful. Very short loop with high dissonance is not a good combination.

Recyclinator by ThatSnillet 2016-12-13T10:03:00

Fun idea with a nice progression, I really like the feeling of putting together an automated factory. Sadly the game glitched before I could get my last conveyor belt down to get a fully automated line going.

I did feel like it was quite frustrating trying to place the boxes down. Would have helped to have some kind of snapping system, or at least make the hold distance far enough away that I could see where on the floor my box would be placed.

Escape The Room by egordorichev 2016-12-13T09:22:00

I got an error trying to run the game under Windows. I have Java 7.

Studio Castle by sgadrat 2016-12-12T12:07:00

Very creative! I love the way all the buttons at the top are there throughout the whole game, right from the beginning - it really gives a clear feeling that it's all the same room.

Slime Box by KadaDev 2016-12-13T00:44:00

Clever, original puzzler. I love the way the room is an integral part of the gameplay. A few more animations might make the gameplay concepts a bit easier to grasp.

Enter Sandman by Aliencargo 2016-12-13T11:03:00

Great work with the original guitar score! It would be good if it let you repeat a level when you fail, or at least fast-forward the cutscenes - that last level was pretty tough!

Creative Space by Jan Marcano 2016-12-13T04:15:00

Very relatable! Could have been made a bit more lively by adding a character that moves about when I perform the activities.

Tangent by rxi 2016-12-13T01:20:00

Great work, a beautiful, highly polished platformer!

Perfidious Albion by Ysty 2016-12-12T10:41:00

Neat idea, it's not often you see a game about small-talk. Are the conversation topics completely random? I'd like to see a system to them to add an extra layer of strategy.

Teleporting Room by SkyWolf 2016-12-13T10:50:00

Could use a bit more of a gradual difficulty curve, it's a real grind to even get out of the first room. I'm not sure if it's something I didn't understand about the instructions, but the color doesn't seem to have much effect.

Window Crawler by Chao 2016-12-13T09:31:00

The multiple window system is quite interesting, but in practice it didn't work too well to keep switching back to my file manager to (slowly) open new copies of the game. I think it might work better with the option to open new windows somewhere in the game itself.

The Barn by tinykidtoo 2016-12-13T03:58:00

Very nice graphics and atmospheric sounds, feels quite realistic. Sadly I couldn't get past the chest, would have been nice to see the rest of the game.

Would be helpful to include a list of controls with the game. You might also want to try using an online grammar checker for your writing, I noticed quite a few grammatical errors in the notes.

Last Night On Earth by gene-z 2016-12-12T11:39:00

Genuinely terrifying.

The Employee by pLaw 2016-12-13T11:23:00

Great work! I love the really slick animation and sounds when you go through doors, and the mash keys to work interaction was pretty funny.

This One Room by MoonlightBomber 2016-12-13T10:15:00

The backround looks beautiful, I wish the character had that much detail too. Also, I would have liked to be able to make some choices in how the story progresses.

Upwards by mao 2016-12-13T10:29:00

I like the graphics, that's a very cute dog. The game is way too hard for me, I think I'd need to play it at half or quarter speed to even have a chance.

The Tortile Chamber by Nanolotl 2016-12-12T03:56:00

Fun game, great take on the theme! The number blocks are interesting, some kinda mix of Sokoban and Minecraft.

ISS - Infuriating Space Simulator by Scruffy 2016-12-13T09:14:00

Infuriating is right! The graphics and audio are amazing, but I couldn't figure the controls at all.

Stain This Planet With Cosmic Prism by Mieeh 2016-12-12T12:00:00

Really cute game! Having the difficulty start easier and ramp up over time might help to extend the fun.

Storage by Steven Miller 2016-12-12T11:33:00

This intricate programming puzzler is an incredible achievement for a jam!

The tutorial was quite tough to follow and I almost gave up, but glad that I pushed through. Will need to wait until I've had a good night's sleep before tackling some of the later levels.

The Box Sorting Extravaganza by jamesy012 2016-12-12T10:33:00

It certainly gives me that assembly-line feeling :D

I noticed I kept accidentally putting things on shelves when walking by them, it might help to require something more definite like a button press before shelving items.

Ungelo by Broken Matrix 2016-12-13T01:41:00

Sadly I didn't get past the first sliding puzzle, I've never really been able to solve those.

I think the puzzles could use a few more hints to feel fair, for example why would opening drawers in a certain pattern cause a door to open? Are they magical? Show some sparkling particles. Is it a technological mechanism? Show some wires or gears. If there isn't some kind of explanation for a solution, it's much harder to get it.

Zomploder by TechXSoftware 2016-12-12T10:09:00

Classic zombie horde gameplay. It would be nice to see the bullets move on the screen when you shoot.

Claim Your Color by tybantarnusa 2016-12-13T04:21:00

Simple and fun.

Junction by batmagus 2016-12-12T12:27:00

For people that are having issues with the sensitivity, is it too high or too low? Or do you strongly prefer to use only the precise sensitivity setting you're familiar with?

As for the symbols, you're not meant to understand them at first, the challenge is to figure it out. Although it mostly involves matching the symbol on the capsule with the environment.

Junction by batmagus 2016-12-12T22:44:00

Since this was breaking the game for a lot of people, I've uploaded a fixed version with a lower sensitivity setting. The original is still there for you to experience the game exactly as it was at the end of the compo.

Super Nippon Removals: Ascension of Extend by moomoomang 2016-12-12T10:24:00

Great job, this is the story of my life! I'm not sure if it's just an issue with the HTML version, but the drag-and-drop behaviour feels like it could use a bit more work.
