Epic feedback for shooting and for dashing. Maybe it gets too hard after a few levels into the game, or it can be me not being good enough haha Loved the graphics, moving and shooting looks awesome. I'd suggest to put an indication on the edges of the level, with all the feedback and the confusion it's hard to recognise floor from wall.

Yeah very nice feel to the shooting. Nice twist that running out of power makes you stronger - live on the edge!

geckoo1337 2017-08-01 21:36

Fun little game with a good particle effect. Great atmosphere. I had fun shooting enemies for a while. I assume that it could be improved with more features. Thumbs up ++

nekusoul 2017-08-01 21:38

The effects for shooting and destryoying enemies feel great. Also like the graphical style.

ijona 2017-08-01 21:54

Addictive, cool graphics. But I whish I didn't have to wait the next level to open each time I replay the game. In this case it would be even more addictive :))

makiyoshi 2017-08-01 22:00

I really like the visuals! The shooting feels very nice too :)

boxfort 2017-08-01 22:45

Very pretty graphics and a solid twinstick(sort of) shooter! Loved the music too, Although i did get a little bit of vertigo from the tall platforms haha

The web version had problems (nothing but black screen, a bar and sounds of shooting). So I downloaded desktop version since it looked like a pretty game and it very much was. The ground tiles don't look great though, since the same texture is used for both floors and walls, also makes falling off easier. Also I think the game could do without falling off the edge feature, or make it possible only on some places. Gameplay and shooting feel great, tho I wish there is more of that, and less falling off from edge stupidly.

Like others have said, the shooting and dashing was very satisfying. The graphics are really cool, but I think you could put some more work into the environment. At times it felt a bit too unforgiving, but overall playing your game was a great experience. Well done!

Great game

The music, sounds, and graphics all work together and are satisfying.

To echo some of the other comments, the game is a little unforgiving. Falling is especially annoying. I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't take forever to fall. You could circumnavigate this by making the sides of the stage those yellow walls.

mindfungus 2017-08-16 14:52

This game is a lot of fun! The visuals and feel of the shooting and dashing are superb. As people have mentioned falling feels frustrating. Also I was never really aware of my energy level - it seems like you have some cool ideas there but I never felt much of a difference when I was low energy and most things that killed me were one-hit kills anyway.

This game was a lot of fun, and it's a cool idea to have the player get stronger as their health deteriorates. I also like how the power didn't constantly drain, giving me time to do things.

Very polished and smooth experience! I’m not big fan of bullet hell games but you managed add some puzzles elements to your game which made much more appealing to me. Graphics are well done most part but times there so many particle effects on screen it becomes hard to understand. Also you could have taken the 80’s neon glow / Tron theme even further, some elements like the dull gray ground looks, well, dull. Sounds and music fit well to the theme. Overall great job!

justashadow 2017-08-17 12:04

Input gets stuck if you die. You probably forgot to reset some static variables :P Other than that, great job! You'll score pretty high in the graphics and audio categories.

gamepopper 2017-08-17 12:42

I really like the particle effects, and the twin-stick controls work very well. You should probably set the window to the right dimensions in the HTML5 link, in case people don't want to run the game at fullscreen.

Wow, your game is really good ! i really enjoyed playing it and having more game to try was the only things stopping me. Really nice execution and the shooting feeling is great. Good job

sundr0 2017-08-17 14:01

Very neat game, nice simple graphics with good visual effects and feedbacks! Falling was really annoying, maybe due to the fact that the ball appears bigger than it really is. and I got stuck on edges sometimes. Except for that, good level design and good puzzles ideas. Well played! =)

vulpem 2017-08-18 11:49

Great. Just, great. I really liked the feel, when shooting, dashing. And the faster shooting really accentuated the frenetic feel and the "oh shit" sensation whenever you health got low. It felt so right!

The graphics are surprisingly good for a GameJam, and they're really clear and effective.

Now, the one thing i didn't really like were the insta-deaths. I mean, i get why they're there, and i wouldn't take them out. But you got a good and fast respawn system that avoids the game feeling frustating, but... whenever you fall out of the map, it falls apart. It takes too long, and you're staring at your player for a few seconds doing nothing. It breaks the pace of the game. Is isn't that often, but it made the "Speedy red-wall of death" section feel very tedious. And also, the walls. I don't know what i'd do with those, but slightly getting close to one after finishing an encounter, dying and having to repeat it all over again...

I don't wanna be a downer, i really, REALLY enjoyed this game. I just feel that, polishing this rough corners, this game could get really far! With a little more work, this is honestly a game i'd buy to spend some time playing.

Great work!

Neat game. Has the potential to become something I'd pay money to play. Graphics are amazing. Love the mechanic that makes you more powerful when you're low on HP.

Towers shouldn't spend their power when you're at max health. I'd like to be able to come back and regenerate when I need to. There are also some annoying deaths in the game. It's a game that should be difficult, and you're supposed to die sometimes, but falling off the edge over and over is just annoying. I'd have liked to have more blue walls so that I don't fall down all the time. Games should be challenging, but the challenge should never be an annoyance.

Lastly, I discovered a weird bug that occured several times. Sometimes I move around and shoot even if I don't click any buttons. It's like the buttons get stuck. I don't really know how that's possible, but it's really annoying. I think it happened only when I respawned. Maybe you reload the exact state of the game at the time of the last checkpoint, and if I happened to be shooting at the time of saving, it starts shooting by itself when I respawn? To stop it I have to click and release the buttons that were autonomously activated.

Phew that last level was difficult. I almost gave up but I eventually did it :)

Solid controls & shooting, fitting graphics & audio, great sense of detail, good level design & a staggering amount of action for an LD jam entry make this a really top tier game.

My main suggestion would be to have the camera zoom out a bit, because it can get frustrating, especially in the last level.

Like some others I agree that with more contents and better difficulty management this could definitely be turned into a paid indie game. Congrats!

galaxstudios 2017-08-19 08:16

Nice game and this game could definitely be turned into a paid indie game. It has solid controls, fitting graphics and audio, good level design and a massive amount of action for a LD game. Keep it up!
