Aware the build broke- updating soon.

Should be playable!

It was not really clear how the responses related to the crowd response (whether it was combinations of the consecutive selections, position on the slider, or something else). Could have used some other audio as well, maybe some fake talking (like the peanuts parents) for the joke and different laugh tracks based on performance.

I liked the concept but was a bit lost on the gameplay. At one point I got all happy faces in the crowd but I couldn't tell if it was something I did or if it was just luck.

Yeah, humor is hard. No telling what people will find funny...

Interesting game... Got 362.

Interesting take on the theme--I quite liked the concept. Unfortunately, I wasn't too sure what I was doing during the game. The options and the slider weren't really explained at any point and, even after getting to the end, I'm still not sure what or how much effect either had on the audience responses.
Even if the back end system is really clever (so chaining certain jokes and gags will get better responses, for example), the lack of explanation on the front end really lets that down and means that the player can't learn and take advantage of those cool mechanics without hours of studying the game first.

Hope that's some helpful feedback--keep making games!

I really liked the concept, but as with stand-up comedy itself, I was a bit lost on delivery. Really enjoyed the art assets though, they brought their own character to the game.

ahahahahaha!!! cooooool game!!!!!!!!

Really unique take on the theme! The pseudo-Seinfeld intro music was a great touch. This is the kind of idea that would benefit from more time, I think - I can picture it from the perspective of the audience watching the comedian doing weird animations based on the key presses. StoneMonkeyStudios idea for Peanuts adult voices is a great idea as well. Fun stuff!

Neat take on the theme!

Interesting concept but definitely feels very rough. It's really hard to tell how well the audience is engaged with your show (Also background audio noise: I'm surprised there are no instances of laughter or booing for a game like this D:). It's a pretty interesting take on the theme though.

gamepopper 2016-12-18 14:46

It's a good idea, although there isn't anything to give you a hint as to what the correct actions should be. It's mostly guessing.

Uh, does the score reset after every session? Because it looks like the score just accumulates all the time... It kind of makes the score system meaningless. Eek!

I tried my best to understand the system, but it was difficult to discern a pattern. Without much understanding, I find it hard to have fun with this game. Let alone the lack of meaning with the high scores. More clear patterns would have been appreciated.

janmavzla 2016-12-27 03:06

It was hard to understand what the effects of my actions were, I didn't really know what I was doing. That said though, the concept is really nice and if you explore it further it could be end up really good :)

Maybe something you could add is show the joke made with all the components you chose, even if they don't make much sense or aren't funny. I think the absurdity of it would be appealing.

PD: Was that intro a parody of the Seinfeild theme? If so, well done.

simonhutchinson 2016-12-31 16:03

This is a great idea, and a really clever integration of the theme.

I'm not sure what my goal is (score attack?).

farelle 2016-12-31 19:20

there were some problems with the controls screen not appearing for me in windowed mode :o other than that I had hard time understanding what the people wanted or what i needed to do (maybe also cause i couldn't see the controls properly) but nontheless I think the idea is worth building on, it's something I haven't seen before and I think with a bit more feedback and less bugs, this could be really nice game.
