This is a great game! The graphics and sound are good, it has a nice mix between an arcade-y kind of mechanic and a puzzle-y kind of mechanic, easy responsive controls. It's just good. Solid work! Would have been nice to see music, but doesn't really need it. Would make a great mobile app too

ohmmus 2018-08-13 03:49

Played for about 15 minutes, and I'd probably play more if it wasn't so late here! Great job on a really fun and addicting game! 110 is my best score so far. I'll be back to try again. =p

smilewood 2018-08-13 03:49

This is a quite fun game, I really like the concept, and it fits the theme very well. It took me a while to figure out that I could stop moving and start aiming again, I spent a couple of minutes just launching at a wall. Maybe consider adding an in-game tutorial or instructions to your next game. Once I figured out that important mechanic I found this to be a very interesting game. I wanted to approach it like a puzzle, but the expanding ring stopped that. I really liked your sound effects, I think they fit the game quite well. Good job!

tontonpizza 2018-08-13 03:50

Good mechanics here, pretty innovative too. it took me like 4-5 death to understand how it works. 180 points here

jonahsenzel 2018-08-13 03:51

wow! this is like a case study in elegant game design - one button controls but the more you play the more you see how all the small systems interact with each other to create an engaging game. Good amount of polish on that bad boy too. Excellent job overall, would definitely pay a buck to have this on my phone

negativegeforce 2018-08-13 03:54

Simple but effective design. Most I could get was 20. Took me a few tries to figure it out. You almost have to rely on muscle memory to get a good score since the game goes so fast.

mike-inprinciple 2018-08-13 07:58

Very clever. I enjoyed it. I really liked the lerps on the circles as well, so when you fire the lighter green kind of follows your trajectory. I do think that it gets a tad repetitive over time, however. Anyway, one of the best submissions I've seen so far, well done.

snarf2000 2018-08-13 10:26

Great game! Was really confused at first

bovandenberg 2018-08-13 10:28

cool game man the animations are so great.

rillep 2018-08-13 10:32

This is a very good concept and implementation! The graphics are nice and simple. Good job! Maybe it should start slower and become faster and faster as you go.

mcccclean 2018-08-13 10:33

Yep, this is a super neat mechanic, perfect use of the theme too. It's so satisfying to catch a bunch of circles with the red shot as well, really nice build up and release of tension.

vivek-sharma20 2018-08-13 10:36

Very nice game, the menu's , theme all polished. Gameplay is also good, agree with comments above took a while to figure out how to play. Different levels would have helped. Oh and some in game music would be great.

simonaura 2018-08-13 10:36

Such a great concept ! A very good game.

jole 2018-08-13 10:38

Very original! I enjoyed playing it but i was confused by the input the first times. Also if you hold for too long the arrow goes outside the screen!

falk-bruskeland 2018-08-13 10:45

Original and fun to play.

cisco 2018-08-13 10:51

Thanks you all for the feedback!!

jackyjjc 2018-08-13 10:51

It is quite a fun game but really difficult, I keep on dying. I think you can make it increasing difficulty and make the starting easier. For example, make the circle grow slower at the beginning or rotate slower. Adding some variety would be great too.

Good job!

jka 2018-08-13 10:59

Excellent! This is the best entry I've played so far. It really has that "just one more try" feel. I think this would be a great fit for mobile too.

Only fault I could find is a small bug where the big black/red circle stays red after you die when it's red and then retry, but that's just nitpicking. :)

connorthompson 2018-08-13 12:05

Brilliant idea, one of the most unique entries I have seen in this jam. Congrats on a well polished submission. I really like the font you have used btw, are you able to share what it is?

oneiros 2018-08-13 14:06

I really like the gameplay. It's fun to play. Good job :)

remco 2018-08-13 16:33

Stylish!

It took me so long to realize that you wheren't supposed to shoot the dark circle indicator top-mid. Some explanation would've been helpful! But it all slowly began to make sense when I realized that you could click _while_ the shot was still in the light-green. (Nitpick: 'Avoid the green'... well, the background is green too!)

'Kill the green' stays on screen even after you miss, and are thus vulnerable again.

Hard as heck, but time to retry is 0 and the base gameplay is fun, so it's one of those 'challenge yourself' things. There's a certain rythm to it, so it's easier when you play a few rounds in quick succession, rather than wait between them.

Very tight game-design; it's a neat little package which packs a punch.

ETA: Since a few people have put there top scores: after a bunch of tries mine was 60.

cisco 2018-08-13 17:33

@connorthompson @oneiros @remco Thanks for the feedback! @connorthompson The font name is Hunger Games on dafont.

cisco 2018-08-13 17:38

I think one of my friends has the record! record.png

erebus 2018-08-15 06:59

Cool idea! Sorry I didn't understand at first. Thanks for linking it in the stream!

bustosman 2018-08-15 08:22

The game is good, but it seems there isn't much to do besides trying not to touch anything green. I was somewhat confused at first but in the end it had good mechanics.

acronaut 2018-08-15 22:55

Surprisingly addictive! 👍

Thank goodness for observing the animated .gif for illustrating the mechanics of the game.

Some optional Suggestions: - Alternative color schemes.. - This game would be fantastic for local-multiplayer (4-8 or more 1-button players) party game!

Very effective execution on the theme.. (short and tactical) 👌

jamison 2018-08-16 02:20

Could only get 430--takes a while to really grok the controls and when to click and release. Such a simple concept I love that it's a single-button game. Really really fun. Although I think it's a little too strong to click in rapid succession (leaving green dots in a straight line) until you get the red, then clear the line you just made. But I only got 430 with that strat, so maybe it's not so good after all.

Really clever idea!

hauo 2018-08-16 13:49

A very nice arcade like game! As mentioned it gets rather addictive and fits the theme well. I like that it allows you to think-out different tactics, my favourite was pressing several times quickly in a row, the stop and turn on red made you able to remove almost all circles before, but it's difficult to time it correctly.

Great job! As a small game there is only so many things to improve, I found the sounds a bit jarring, and there is potential to make "levels" to progress where spots on the map is already block, but its not truly necessary. Great work!

corbak 2018-08-16 14:35

It is a really neat game ! Love the simplicity and the gameplay. Stressful but rewarding. I wish there were more levels or so :) to try out stuff and different places with this mechanics. Well done !

nam-nguyen 2018-08-16 14:36

Fun, addictive, brilliant mechanic, the graphics is a bit lacking and the red is a bit saturated for me, but who cares!! because the game is sooo good. This will do very well post-jam, I really hope you release this on mobile, great great work man!!

vekstr 2018-08-16 17:30

Would like it if I can aim using the mouse, but it's still nice little game

gamepopper 2018-08-16 17:59

This is a really addictive concept and would work really well for a mobile game with a single touch control. I also like the simple colour tones and sound effects. One change I would suggest making is making the rotating arrow and growing slowly, to begin with, and progressively increase the speed when the score increases. That way it gives players time to understand the concept, before it gets harder and harder.

noxalus 2018-08-16 22:29

Really good idea! And it perfectly matches the theme, good job!

mza 2018-08-16 23:24

I thought its an innovative take on the theme. Works really well. Was really fun but only in a short burst.

When you have time, I would be interesting to see if you can make a different difficulties on this game - or give the player customisation abilities like: arrow rotate speed and growth speed etc...

Impressive compo entry

ursagames 2018-08-30 00:06

Really interesting gameplay mechanics! I liked the fact that we could remove obstacles every few moves, really added a lot of strategy to the game. Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 0:05 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297885983
