Awesome. Loved the artwork

Very cool idea! The graphics are awesome as well as the use of camera shake. The concept fits the theme very well. Keep up the good work.

The gameplay was fun. At first it was tough to see what was happening, but then I figured out that the bugs were eating the web.

Very clever idea, design and controls are great. Well done sir

Took me a moment to understand what I needed to do, but once I did I enjoyed it. Nice aesthetic and a pretty innovative take on the theme. Well done.

I really enjoyed this one a lot!! Super adorable, fun controls and the simplicity of it really makes it innovative and a joy to play! The controls were a little tough in the beginning, but overtime, I got used to them. Great work!!

Very fun! The logo graphics seem kinda rushed but the actual in-game graphics are excellent, which is the important bit. The gameplay is clever, and fits the theme quite well. I feel like the difficulty curve needs smoothing out a little, it's extremely easy until you reach 5 points and then it immediately ramps right up, but that's the only real criticism I can think of. Good work!

Very glad to see a screenshake toggle in a jam game! Though I couldn't really tell the difference between off and on, the effort is greatly appreciated. Other than that, the game is really cute and fun, and I really enjoyed the sound design.

Really fun game. Someone did his homework on game feel and juice. Jan Willem would be proud.

star-sought 2018-08-13 15:37

That is some juicy animation! The art is cute and colorful which really suits the game.

allan-kong 2018-08-13 16:30

The character models are very juicy and the game feels is amazing when you kill the enemies, great job

noahro 2018-08-14 00:55

Awesome game! Cute sounds and very nice sprites. It plays very well and has a nice addiction factor! I really love the puzzle aspect, once you start getting the hang of it, it comes very naturally! My highscore: __43__. Amazing Job! You always impress me with your games!

Favorite game this jam so far! Got 33 on my first try and I fully expect to crush that score later on. Always love the games you put out (I still play Cardhoard from time to time and am looking forward to the re-release of that game!) Awesome awesome job, 5 stars from me :)

gus-the-shark 2018-08-14 04:28

Really cool idea! The graphics are very pleasant I love the style of pixel art you used. Really wish this had a good song to go with the gameplay. This game has the potential to get very addicting, just add more levels to it. Also, it is somewhat hard to see where there are gaps in the web, so I'd make that a little more apparent. Nice work!

Cute game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Bq9IqSUYX8Y

markopolodev 2018-08-14 16:51

Well put together, very polished. All the little animations from hopping and bugs falling off is juicy

An exceedingly great game. Simple, smart and fun. Just exceptional fun.

gamepopper 2018-08-14 21:21

Aww this game is cute! Very well polished and quite fun!

edmanbosch 2018-08-14 21:51

fun little game. the sound effects are nice and the art looks pretty good. my only real problem with it is the lack of music.

jackou 2018-08-14 22:18

Really nice little game! So many little details and I think it all fit together really well. I missed some music, but aside from that everything looked so polished! I really like you put in the screen shake toggle as well, I personally dont have any issues with that, but I know of many people who basically can't really enjoy games with that feature. Really good job for a 48 hour game! Well done!

powerauer 2018-08-15 01:36

had a lot of fun with this. It was sort of addicting after discovering the mechanics. Also the feel of the game is rather rewarding. Nice game!

wiredoverload 2018-08-16 02:35

The game really feels great, partly because of the animations whenever anything happens, but also because there's always something to do. There's also a fun bit of strategy that makes this an overall great game. Great work!

velvetlobster 2018-08-16 05:51

interesting mechanics that forces you to think really fast, its also very well polished

wertle 2018-08-18 01:20

Great little game! I like how there was intentionality in little details that contributed to the difficulty, such as the fact that you got pushed backwards on firing and the fact that there is no way to rotate without leaving your square. It really upped the challenge and made me have to think about the movements I was making. It ramps up in difficulty SUPER FAST but that's fine for the game jam setting, however if you want to consider fleshing this out, I'd say you can do a lot of slow ramping up and teaching about the falling off of the web and such.

ian-kettlewell 2018-08-18 01:54

The sound effects on the spider moving are amazing. I thought it was playing music notes in a certain order at first, and I love that effect when it's used in games! I'm not sure if that's what you're doing here, but it's awesome anyways.

The animations and sound effects are all really well done and punchy. They help inform the gameplay. I could time pressing space to correspond to the exact moment an enemy spawned, based on the animation.

I really liked how you made simple choices that make the gameplay have more depth. Your attack and ability to restore the web being connected makes for more depth of choice. Not being able to turn also lends more interesting mechanical depth. Same goes for the recoil one tile. Immediately this game is more interesting than most just in the way you move and interact with the environment.

I felt like the difficulty ramping was pretty wonky. On repeat plays it was boring for the first few seconds (which isn't so bad) but then it gets difficult really quick. I never really felt like there was time to learn to get really good at the mechanics because I went from not threatened to overwhelmed so quickly.

Overall I really like the polish and mechanical depth of this game though! Excellent job.

djack-d-donovan 2018-08-18 11:51

Lovely! The graphics and sounds are really cute. The game is really fun and juicy! It just lacks a bit of music. My favorite entry so far!

jessefreeman 2018-08-18 18:43

I really like the concept and the gameplay is really good. Great job!

randomphantom 2018-08-24 12:59

Very twitchy and juicy fun! Agree with above that the ramp up in challenge is exponential which is good for a short play session game, just that you have a bit of a slow start. Great animations, cute sounds, and very well done!

yukey0 2018-09-01 20:18

I liked it while I sucked at it ^^; Gets a bit hard quite fast, but that just adds to the challange. Nice entry and I liked the art ^^b
