Easy mode is the quit game button. Guess I should have just said that in my explanation text.
I didn't have very many testers so I wasn't sure how difficult I should make it. A 10-14 year old beat the whole thing in under 3 minutes though

Geez this was frustrating and fun, the platformer physics felt floaty but worked remarkably well considering the levels were constantly rotating.

Yeah, I don't think Godot liked me rotating everything like that lol
The idea of rotating the entire level is fun and ambitious. That being said, the platforming logic clearly isn't suited to it, as I constantly found myself stuck inside the terrain, or bouncing around madly. That being said, I like the graphics and the story, so nice work all around.
I love the pie sprite and the music loop. So much bass! I only managed to complete three levels before I gave up. You were right to include the Easy Mode button.
Yeah, the pie sprite was fun, had to avoid googling reference material though :smirk:
Funny game! Congrat!
omg.... i got so motion sick i actualy threw up right after i finished pi's failure map. i didnt read what the controlers were so i played withour rotating untill the 4th map i think, the on where you have to rotate. i have never gotten motion sick from playing a game, ill give you an extra star on every point. fuk... my tummy hurt so bad T_T
@lombax I'm very sorry, that wasn't intended at all. I'll add a warning I guess
It reminds me alot of the sonic special stage. It was no worse (and no better) than those.
@techsec Huh, I'll have to take a look at that game someday...
Cool game. The music was very nice. It got a bit confusing being able to both walk and control movement by changing the ground slope. I think the loop controls might have been a bit to sensitive.
Other than that, nice job.
@daspikeyboss Thanks. I'll probably touch up the controls a little more post-jam.
I didn't want to allow the player to slow down the platforms too much or it would be too easy :smiling_imp:
The game idea is really cool for this theme ! It was sometimes frustrating not being able to jump, but overall it was nicely done.
I read in your commentes that you were rotating the whole level, did you consider rotating the character, the camera and the gravity vector only? That could require less calculations ;)
The music was nice and I really liked that you would change its side depending on the rotation.
Nice entry!
@rolly Thanks for playing!
I tried changing it to rotate the player only but after an hour of failures I scrapped that and went with this method. I haven't done too much with godot's physics yet so I was probably missing something.
I'll probably have another go at it post-jam
The physics could use some work, as the character seemed to fly around in ways that didn't make sense at times, but it was a fun game. I don't know how close I got to the end, but I couldn't get past the level with the "you will never escape" text...which seemed to be a very accurate prediction in my case.
Controlling the character AND the world was super confusing. I found myself relying more on the rotation of the world, and rarely trying to move the character at all since he usually ended up on a slope too step to walk or jump anyways.
this was pretty funny. I was trying to figure out why i'm a pie out side running around. It was a bit motionsicky, but we survived. I was unable to beat the last level though. My kids thought this game was pretty funny.
The concept of controlling the gravity is cool although a bit wonky. Some times the my pie would accelerate as hell xD
Wow, very unique and interesting idea! I just reached the level with "The End", so is this the end? ^_^
Fun game, but the puzzles could use some polishing. In many cases you can ignore the intended way to solve them and hack your way through.
@yword @oneiromancer thanks for playing! It looks like you didn't rate me in a few categories though, my OCD is triggered lol
When you reach the actual end the game will freeze if you're using the HTML version and it will close if you're using the Downloaded version. To escape The End level you need to go to the right and swing yourself upwards once you reach the end. There's a portal that doesn't move with the level up there
In the case of cheating the puzzles I don't mind that. I was worried the game would be too hard for most people
Woah I think that game gave me vertigo ^^. The idea with controlling the rotation of the levels is nice. As you sad before the rotation had some weird physics behavior. I think I only made it to the second to last level. Well done!
By the time I got to the end of the game, I was enjoying the platforming. I think it is a solid concept, and the level design makes sense.
The problem, to me, is that it is very hard to control, and I don't believe it's even very easy to learn to control. I could never figure out how to jump consistently, and the amounts of momentum and even jump height I could get could vary wildly based on all sorts of inscrutable factors.
The places where jumping was required took me forever as I tried to get the game to give me a jump...
But as I said, once I finally got the hang of just kind of praying and pointing my buttons in the general direction of where I want to go, I did have a bit of fun. The physics and controls just need to be much more predictable to really sell the experience.
And, as a data point, the game did make me a little motion sick too.
Heh, thanks for playing @honey-pony. I'll look into maybe slowing the rotation down...
