Nice game! I like the art style and music, but when i played i couldn't fight. I clicked dozen times. My unit just holds its sword and do nothing :cry:

I really liked graphics and audio. The atsmosphere of the game was, I think, spot on.

I did not enjoy on the other hand the combat that felt slow and grindy. To kill an enemy took way too many hits and felt like a chore. Since the combat is at the center of the game, I think this is really too bad.

Really fun game ! The combat system was a bit reminiscent of Dark Souls, with the limited Dodge gauge. I also loved the pixelated aesthetic and the smooth movement. The ennemies were maybe a little too resilient to my taste, but the mix made for a very enjoyable game.

Strenghts : - Fluid movement and great combat system - Consistent graphics - Simple bot great take on the theme

Weaknesses : - Killing enemies is a bit long

I love the graphics, incredibly good looking. But it's real slow, enemies take 20 or so hits to die and the movement without dashing everywhere takes forever.

This game is pretty good ! The art style is really nice and innovative, also the gameplay feels really good, i just it could be better if the ennemis had less life and there could be more of them at the same time !

Really love the aesthetic, sounds, and feel. Really good job on this one! Perhaps a few too many hits to kill enemies for how many enemies are spawning, so a little balance issue. I have encountered a bug where the player sword can get permanently stuck in the player character which is unfortunate, but if you can patch it out go for it! Other than that everything else is really great.

A very good game, i loved the bouce effect on the enemies when I hit them. they were a little bit hard to kill those.

I really liked the old school graphics and the animations, I think you should display the ennemies HP if you go the grindy way, or make them have less HP !

I made it to level 4, and the game seems pretty fun so far. Using the dash to knock enemies across the room was really satisfying. The graphical style is very cool, and I liked the sound effects, although the music loop got repetitive pretty fast. I wasn't really sure how to effectively use the block ability, but maybe if I play more, I'll figure it out. I also think this could could really use some variety in enemies. Maybe every level or so, introduce something new in addition to just throwing more enemies at the player.

I really like the graphics and the music and the gameplay is easy to take in hands. I would have love to see the ennemies life points to have some feedback. Not knowing it let me feel that you have to hit them way too many times. Overall the game is really nice !

You nailed the graphics! The look of it really feals nice, and the gameplay is also fun. The only thing is that for me it became very monotonous after the third wave. I didn't managed to get all 10 levels completed though, so i don't know if there was more to this game. The movement felt good and the UI is very cool. Nice job overall!

really like the art style and the main character, but the only thing is the enemys health that is too high, but other than that its a good entry, good job!

I like the graphics, they are well done :) But sometimes the enemies take way too many hits until they die, this got me quite confused because I didn't know how many lifes they had left. Maybe a small healthbar above their heads would be nice :)

The graphics and controls works really nicely but... sometimes some ennemies seems nearly immortal, as if the hitbox did'nt work as intended.

I got to Level 4 before I died. It's a great game, but it gets repetitive. More types of enemies would be nice, or upgrades to the player. Good job on your game!

Amazing graphics and very funny. The controls feels very smooth. One suggestion would be to have a way to track the enemies health.

Nice graphics, nice sound.

Gameplay is a little strange, I think enemies should die with 1 hit in the beginning, and maybe be faster or have more enemies to make it more dynamic.

In this scenario enemies could also do a bit more damage to the heart for balancing issues.

The sound your sword makes also doesn't feel good, the bounce BOING BOING would feel cooler if it had more impact to it, maybe a BONK or SLASH

I feel like it's the best thing I've played on this jam so far C: Very cool graphics & sounds, I love the style!

As some people have already mentioned, killing enemies might be a bit frustrating as it takes a big amount of hits to actually kill them.

I would really love to see this grow post-jam, multiple enemy types & upgrades would be so noice C:

For me the game worked. It was fun, the audio and graphics look nice. The game-play is a little monotonous and the dash sometimes didn't work as expected, but overall - very good.

I like that it can be played in the browser - my team ran out of time to do it.

Awesome style, really liked the visuals. Even the UI looked cool which isn't that common to see on jam games. Audio worked too.

Controls felt very clunky. Even more so because I played with a macbook touchpad so blocking was devilishly difficult. Well, even attacking and aiming but these were really my own faults more than the game's. The walking speed was waaaaay too slow and and I think you had this bug where the diagonal movement speed was faster. If you just plot down the input x and y to a vector, you end up like that. Pretty basic maths here, sqrt(1x1 + 1x1) is not 1. The enemies had too much health too. Those two things combined made the game feel very slow for a action packed game it could have been.

Also did not see any use for the double slash at all and it was weird that one slash couldn't hit multiple enemies. Well of course major part of this clunkiness came for the lack of real mouse, I do understand that, but in my opinion it would have worked better as a twin stick shooter anyway.

The dash was quite fun but the cooldown was so quick that it would have been pretty much the equal as having movement speed be faster. Just requiring less key presses for the same effect.

And lastly a very minor nitpick, it was quite hard to see/hear the difference between a hit and when it was blocked. Resulting in wasted time on a blocking enemy when could have been focusing elsewhere.

Anyways, very nice job! :thumbsup:

Didn't like this one very much, unfortunately. Visuals are gorgeous (especially for 72 hours), love the art style. But the gameplay is a bit "eh". First of all, it's very slow. I know, that I'm supposed to dodge from one enemy to the next, but I do need just a normal WASD movement sometimes and that needs to be at least twice as fast, even for a "slow" movement speed. The second factor contributing to "slowness" is enemy health. They are way too spongy. But, to be honest, so is the player, so is the heart. And, well, I guess, I can't really demand a huge enemy variety, but at least a ranged unit would be nice to break up the monotony. So, overall -- was kinda disappointed, because I can see huge potential in the game, but it wasn't properly realized because a couple of numbers were wrong here and there. Would really like to see it developed further!

Fun game with a great sense of style. It was a bit unclear if I was doing damage to enemies and it felt like it took a lot of hits to defeat them. I also sometimes dashed in a direction I wasn't expecting. Overall a really neat experience. Good stuff :)

Really fun game! Super juicy, looks good, sounds good, feels good. My favorites are the music, the look of the giant heart, the look of the attacks, and dashing. My only gripe is that it's pretty slow and tedious to defeat the enemies, no matter how many cool double attacks or dodges I did, I had no agency over the fact that I had to end up punching each of them many many times :sweat_smile: All in all, good job! :grin:
