This was amazing! Playing this actually made me smile! Very clever take on the theme, and just as clever implementation as well. There was some clunkiness in the movement, and there were some optimization issues, but that doesn't take away from the experience itself. I liked anticipating what way the level would react to a button. I especially like the "unfinished" area with (no spoilers). Really enjoyable experience. Good job, and I would love to see this idea be expanded upon and made into a polished game!
As the jam game, it works pretty well. Something like those flash games when you didn't know what to expect but made in gorgeous UE5. Perhaps too gorgeous, btw, as my PC started wheezing on the third level. Other than that, a solid game, fits the theme really well. Congrats!

Good idea, and I believe if you add more guidance, it will be more interesting

As a portal fan, I approve.

Thank you all for the kind words and great feedback! I've updated the game with a fix that should reduce the performance issues significantly.
Very meta use of the theme, and a good amount of gameplay to enjoy. Nice!
Cool game! The puzzles were a bit simple but not bad for a weekend game jam. The graphics were pretty plain but I know it's hard to do good 3D graphics for a weekend jam like this. Also I don't know if the fact that it's impossible to quit the game with escape or something is an intended feature or not but if it is it's a bit too cute ;)
Really neat level layouts and puzzle concepts, but the gameplay starts to feel a bit repetitive after awhile.
I want to try this game and probably like it, but unfortunately it just doesn't seem to run very well on my machine. I seem to get about 5 frames per second running it, and the first room is extremely dark. (Maybe this is expected, but it seems surprising) The button in front of me at the start seems to impact the doors somehow, but I haven't really figured out how yet.
I see some writing on the wall but I can't make it out. If I run through the door nearby and screenshot I can get about 1 second of enough brightness to read the bottom text. Here's what that looks like: 1.png
Here's what it looks like normally: 2.png
Machine info: ``` Windows 10 Pro Ryzen 9 3900X 64GB Ram GTX 760 (I know, I know - the gpu shortage has caused me to hold off on upgrading) Resolution: 1920x1080 ``` If there's anything else I can provide let me know.
This looked really nice, not a surprise given it's Unreal Engine 5. I got Portal vibes while playing, albeit with buttons, jump pads and moving platforms. The walls glitching out at certain angles to hint that you can clip through them was a really clever touch and fitting with the theme. Great work!
Extremely fun and well made game!
I liked how the more tricky parts were quite forgiving in not having to go too far back to retry a jump.
The humor and in particularly the buttons that just fell off. Very good.
On some levels I was a bit confused how I actually progressed, but I don't feel like the premise of the game needs me to understand all my progression at all times. So that's fine too. And the levels neatly ensured I was never lost going in circles.
The `TODO` notes were really fun.
Amazing game. I love the broken lights and broken logic. It felt amazing. Although I would preferer a main / pause menu. Also the mouse sensitivity was too high. I started typing out commands for changing that when I realized this was someone else's project (oops). But still, simple escape that closes the game would be appreciated.
Also, may I add: the performance is less than stellar. And I'm also starting to wonder if the messed up lighting is also a defect. I'm not sure what's causing it, but choppy framerate and high mouse sensitivity make the game fell unstable, but also make me want to stop playing

Thanks again for all the feedback, we're hopefully giving the game some love post-jam and will do our best to address all the issues we can!
@zookatron We definitely didn't run out of time to make a pause/quit screen, let's just say that alt+f4 is the officially supported exit key (:
@cppchriscpp That's an interesting bug you found, it seems like your GPU doesn't deal well with some of the new light techniques used by UE5. I've added a lower spec version of the game to the itch.io page (`Yeetr 1.1 low spec`) that ditches most of the super fancy stuff. It runs a lot faster and should hopefully also have usable lamps on your GPU, so feel free to try it!
Thanks for the effort! That did improve the framerate a lot, but unfortunately didn't really change anything appearance-wise. I did manage to navigate mostly through the first level in the dark, (I think) but it's not clear what to do from there. (for obvious reasons)
That said, this does seem like a really cool idea, and a great take on the theme! I wish you the best of luck.

I'm impressed that you managed without any lights! We had a problem where lights didn't work at all when set to dynamic, so had to switch them to stationary (which is part of why performance got pretty bad). That did the trick on our machines but I'm guessing it's the same bug in a new form haunting you. I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a fix right now, but thanks for putting the time in to try it despite the problems!

Cool game! Actually the first UE5 game I've tried (does the lighting use Nanite? :D) I got a chuckle out of the falling buttons and the texts were nice, wish there was more of those `TODO` ones! I was a bit confused in the last level but managed to complete it by running around in circles and spamming buttons.

Fun game! Yeah, I can confirm that even even my fairly recent computer really struggles with the full spec version, but low spec is a noticeable improvement. I like the puzzles, though!

Overall a pretty good little jam game. But in the end the puzzle got a bit too similar, and maybe the game was a bit too long.

Great game, very fun, reminded me of portal a bit and I thought the glitchy walls especially the area with the to dos were really cool
Good jam submission in a nutshell.
It’s a OK entry, the level design and finishes on the layout should have been clearer, but it looks you had a lot of struggles dealing with UE5. The game looks awesome by default which is super impressive by itself :open_mouth:
The puzzle is so unpredictable! Love it! (My computer graphic card kept screaming during the gameplay, like it ran for 8k)
