I love that you get points for doing stupid stuff!

mess110 2017-12-04 16:18

That escalated quickly :) Really had to think who I wanted to sell my data to. Ended up selling for most profit

sgadrat 2017-12-04 16:28

That's the first time in my life I got injured by building a kernel :D

It is a nice game to delve into, thanks to all the stupid unlocable tricks.

cocapasteque 2017-12-04 16:32

Haha this was a lot of fun, I don't want to spoil but some combinaisons were just hilarious ! Good job man !

2017-12-04 16:54

I felt so powerful making money and gaining followers, but I flew too close to the sun...

I somehow survived playing Russian Roulette in traffic, but I died when I fell in love and hugged a cocaine bear

Great job man. It needs some balancing work because it becomes way too easy to make money which makes it hard to die if you aren't actively trying to. But it was surprisingly fun and pretty polished

svarttand 2017-12-04 17:27

Nice this was humorous! I apparently got injured while eating a burger :D The only thing that was lacking was decent sounds. The click sound wasn't great. But other than that pretty great!

priweejt 2017-12-04 18:18

Great game! I laughed a bit too much when I died because of building linux kernel, haha

makiki99 2017-12-04 18:19

I had multiple laughs thanks to this game. Died trying to hug a cocaine bear and fighting a mannequin.

kroltan 2017-12-04 22:19

"Build... the Linux Kernel - Risk 75%, Danger 82, Stupidity 9/10"

I LITERALLY (AND LITERALLY MEANT LITERALLY, NOT FIGURATIVELY) FELL OFF MY CHAIR LAUGHING.

dalbinblue 2017-12-05 05:53

Not sure if my dumb luck was through the roof or what, but made it pretty far without an injury (except running out of toilet paper, that took 99 health). I survived to the point where I had unlocked everything and wasn't sure where to go from there. I may have just been lucky, but I had very few injuries so drug resistance didn't really factor in as much as I thought it would.

Anyway, the concept is pretty cool; I suppose if you wanted to continue this, sponsorship and or trending themes would be interesting additions; both would reward you with money or people if you took on challenges that matched wants, but you've have to time it to hit the height of it and not lose people from being old hat on a trend.

bookworm31 2017-12-05 07:45

This game was quite fun. It was a bit too easy to make money I think, but that gave me a chance to unlock everything relatively easily and see some of the jokes. There are some crazy things you can do (especially once you unlock that second slot and do two things at once)!

jani-nykanen 2017-12-05 16:26

A nice, personal game concept. I liked it.

themadpangolin 2017-12-05 17:47

It's not often that I find myself playing Tycoons (or Tycoon-style games), but this was a fresh experience. Neat idea, with some funny gags and references (i.e. the Navy Seal copypasta). Overall, really good job ;)

korpokrowa 2017-12-05 18:26

Funny idea for a game. I like it! :D

beebo-studios 2017-12-05 19:15

Like others said, the game needs some balancing, but as it is it is really fun to see all the options you implemented! I had some good laughs and felt quite bad about the way you earn money (in a positive way, of course)!

phillserrazina 2017-12-06 01:31

Now that was refreshing, such an original concept. You did great with this one. It's simple and great but there's always room for improvement! If you continue to work on this, consider some more events and maybe more features other than go to the hospital. Great job!

sorlok 2017-12-06 04:42

Cool game (couldn't hear the audio for some reason). Had some nice social commentary, and I liked the "zoom out" approach to see your desk, the hospital, etc. The $6,000. for the "good drugs" at the hospital wasn't actually that expensive; apparently you can make good money doing stupid stuff and then selling that data to... mysterious people. Good job!

xoidberg 2017-12-06 19:42

I like that people follow me even if I just eat a burger :o

jimbly 2017-12-06 23:07

Geocities, LOL!

Somehow after eating a ghost pepper a couple times, I ended up with negative followers, and I was able to immediately sell -100,000 data to wrack up incredible debt...

On my second game, I died surprise hugging a stray cat. Yep, that's exactly how I would want to go.

Quite amusing, I liked the random comments people generated =). A little more sound or music (some feedback on success/failure) would go a long way, I think.

gamepopper 2017-12-07 13:49

Pretty fun entry definitely liked the fake comments and businesses. Shame the audio is broken in the HTML5 version.

I found the game to be incredibly easy, there doesn't appear to be much risk at all since it's easy to pay for medication whenever you get injured, although I say Play -> Russian Roulette to be a bit grim for an early stunt.

ruthiepee 2017-12-08 17:42

Zooming out to hospital/meds is really cool UI. All the copywriting is absolutely hilarious too ("It's their fault they didn't read the privacy policy"). Somehow I managed to accrue negative followers and negative money so I started over and played through the way it's meant to be. I'm at 565,000 followers right now and I've unlocked everything. Who knew building the Linux kernel could be so dangerous?

PS: HTML5 version doesn't work in Safari because Safari is greedy and wants .mp3 files (I had this same issue)

rockhoppergames 2017-12-11 18:08

You've got the pretty solid core of a game here, and the humour is pretty good too. It probably needs a bit more expanding before it can really support its length. Still, good work for a compo game!

candlesan 2017-12-11 20:16

Pretty solid game! I liked the general social commentary and I also liked how you're basically poking fun at all the different ways YouTubers sometimes go to extreme lengths to get our attention and get viewers. It's also a very dark side that you basically get money by selling data. Ha!

mikethewayne 2017-12-11 21:40

Got 2000 followers for eating a burger :D .

Really solid game, great design, good graphics. Fun gameplay too, fits in nicely with the theme. I do like the whole 'selling data' side of the game, and the humour surrounding it, 'it's not our fault they haven't read the privacy policy' - brilliant!

Overall, a solid, enjoyable game, really great work!

acamara 2017-12-14 13:09

Pretty fun! I really like the quantity of stupid stuff that you can do haha Good job!

aeveis 2017-12-14 18:25

Liked all the options and dialogue! After eating various things I was able to make money pretty easily selling data, and bought all the options just to see what was available. I like how the last option is usually a punchline. Could see this format being used to tell an overarching story in the game haha. Good job!

Oh yeah, for the HTML5 build, did you have the sounds converted to .ogg? There's some errors in the console (you can hit f12 to bring it up) and it lists not being able to find some .ogg files. Also you may need to make sure the "format" library is included in the xml file (I ran into those same issues). Hope that is helpful!

Nobody told me it was a _killer_ birthday clown! Admittedly I shouldn't have tried to prank the law beforehand...

This is not usually my sense of humor, so I didn't really get a big laugh out of it, but I can still see how it's nicely put together. (And even I am not immune to a tombstone that specifies my death was somehow due to a combination of ... well, see the bit at the top of my post. That at least got a good smirk out of me )

I did notice that you have to keep buying the second act. I can imagine that's intentional, but when I clicked it, I thought it was a permanent upgrade, like the other things you can buy. (Maybe it was due to not using the second thing the first time I bought it?)
