Wow! Amazingly well polished game! This is fantastic!

beanslasher 2020-04-21 03:15

I LOVED the art style for this game. Personally one of my favorites. It takes on that indie low poly look but changes it to feel more stylized! Very fun gameplay, well executed!!

Really nice game. Controls handled well. Very nice graphics. Good instructions in the beginning to get you started. If i had to complain about anything it would be about the map to get back to the ship. I always got lost. Maybe that was just me. I really liked the game though.

i love the artstyle, but the camera is a bit wobbly, made me carsick. haha still played it, kinda scary when u run out of batteries in the dark.

Very cool! This is so well polished for a Ludum Dare game. Great work!

dmitry-kaidash 2020-04-21 06:49

Great meditative gameplay! A little confused by the movement of the drone around the sphere, it seems to be moving in jerks, but it does not really matter :) In general, a very good job!

Overall a pretty cool and well made little game. The graphics and music is really good. The gameplay is super simple and it is pretty fun to play. I would liked the story to be more implemented into the gameplay. Overall is this a good jam game. Well done.

Really nice looking and fun game, well implemented.. Good Job

Pretty nice to play, though that the long collection of power for the rocket doesn't result in a launch is a bit of a letdown. Some complaints include the rover wheels not spinning (just make them smooth next time so it's not noticeable if you're not gonna animate them) and the rover movement being a bit stuttery. Problems of spherical transforms I guess.

I do applaud the backend code for the solar panel shadow occlusion detection, seems pretty perfect!

ultraarceus3 2020-04-21 15:15

Fantastic game! The artstyle is really pretty. Nice work. :)

ironygames 2020-04-21 15:19

A very pretty game! It's premise is unique afaik. I loved how that astronaut is going thru apples by the pound.

I think it would have been good to get some variety in things to pick up, perhaps other resources to craft rocket parts. There were times where I just stood there, food full, waiting to pick up energy, you know?

vizitas 2020-04-21 18:27

Beautiful game! It was a little bit too easy, as you could just stay in one place and charge the ship right away. Maybe having to collect some broken parts of the ship from the surface, would have made it a bit harder and forced you to explore more. All in all great work. *EDIT* As I see others said that it takes them a long time, so it might be a fps dependent thing, you should place game logic in FixedUpdate() inside of your components as its fps independent.

I loved the idea, the music and the graphics! The concept is clever and simple to understand. The difficulty is ok, you need to manage your energy and the hunger of the astronaut at the same time, which makes you switch between searching for food, coming back to the ship and going after the sun to recharge. The only bug I encountered were some fruits spawning at the same location as soon as I collected them. Congrats for the submission!

marcusnystrand 2020-04-22 21:33

super nice art style

yaroslav-kravtsov 2020-04-22 21:34

Perfect execution. Only wish to get some animation or something as the reward for job done.

gmaanicus 2020-04-22 21:44

I really like the art style, music, and concept in general. The SFX for pickups, energy and food delivery, drone chirps, and etc were equally well put together.

The small touches like the how the drone's lights turn on when you are in a dark area and the LEDs that show if a panel is getting power were nice additions that didn't go unnoticed.

It took a while to charge the ship up for me. However, I'm seeing that some people had different experiences because of their FPS? I'll leave that up for debate then :)

I could see this going places if it were expanded upon, but right now it just gets a little repetitive after the first 10 trips. Overall, a charming little experience. Well done!

Very nice entry! Graphics and sounds are neat and cute, and gameplay well balanced. The only negative point is that the game has no difficulty progression but is quite long to finish. Hence, once you get the pattern, you just mechanically do your stuff until you reach the end. Still, I loved it!

skitzogamer 2020-04-22 21:55

Very calming. I enjoyed it. although it was pretty easy.

jojo-the-clown 2020-04-22 22:08

The assets are stunning. However, the movement is a tad jittery, but not enough to impede gameplay at all. Also, it is a tad disappointing when you've finished powering the rocket and there's no animation to go with it, but I assume time was an issue. The way the power fluctuates when you go into shadows is absolutely awesome. This is an amazing entry. Good job.

saltfactory-studio 2020-04-23 04:05

Loved the game mechanic and art style of the game. Really cool level with realistic mechanic such as charging with sunlight make the game really fun to play, even better with a radar to guide the player back to the rocket. Great work!

raineii 2020-04-23 07:54

This is a very cool, little game! The concept is very simple, but very well executed. Loved the art style and the sound design. I also liked a lot that I could see how many kw/s my rover was getting, as that led me to realizing that facing the sun directly charged my robot faster. Also loved the shadows mechanic, it's really the core of what makes this game fun.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was that the ship took a lot of charges to charge up, and the gameplay got very repetitive by the end. I did manage to beat it though, and felt good!

Congratulations!

morandigame 2020-04-23 08:49

The SFX and the graphics fit together so well. I really enjoy your demo video and the game. Love to know what you think of my entry~

hermeses 2020-04-23 17:22

Great graphics!, after some time the mechanic becomes a little repetitive, but it's still fun to play, the thing I loved the most was the mini-map, it was really useful to have it. Well done!

texz 2020-04-24 13:08

5 stars everywhere, that was a reaaaaaaaaally good game !

gamepopper 2020-04-25 11:26

A pleasent and colourful space game. It's a good touch that you had to constantly conserve and charge the rover, and if you run out of charge you become immobile, it does add to the pressure of constantly keeping your astronaut alive whilst charging up the rocket.

amazura 2020-04-25 11:34

everything is just perfect.. nothing left to say. good job!

despdair 2020-04-25 15:03

nice game. Have a bit astroneer wibe. In a side not, it seems like you are pushing rover and planet itself has an affector. Pushing rover creates an unrealistic/not nice looking affect. Use https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/WheelColliderTutorial.html this instead of pushing rover all together.

rextgun 2020-04-25 17:18

a very interesting dynamic of resource management, these mechanics leave alot of opportunity of how you can approach a problem and everything costs something, be it time, energy, or progress. was very misled by the simple graphics and cheery music that this would be a easy game. but it was definitely interesting

Oooh! That's how you reply to the feedback here! Thank you so much everyone for the criticism and for playing my game ofcourse. I finally smashed that bug with a stuttering movement. It was not about physics or something, it was the camera :) Now movement is as smooth as it can be. That irregularity in energy flow - yes, my bad, it was not fixed to fps, now it's fixed as well. And yes, I had a vision about launching the rocket in the end. Well, time constraints. I fixed those things that needed to be fixed, but adding more features like the launch or animating wheels rotation is not that competition friendly. Let it stay as is for now.

Thank you for all your kind words about the graphics. I have a solid background in animation (tech-artist) and there is a ton of tricks in my sleeves to make such models in minutes) The hardest part was balancing and the concept itself for this game to stay engaging.

You, and people like you, make this place the way it is.

Thank you!

Great little game, controls worked well (though steering in reverse is opposite to most games), everything looks nice, and the general concept was easy to understand while still offering a good challenge!

horbee 2020-04-30 09:39

Very lovely game, I almost succeed, but in the end I lost the direction and the astronaut starved :/ Nice graphics, and super atmosphere. Cool, idea and implementation. Nice job overall! :)
