Super Neo Tektropolis by vidarn 2013-04-30T10:53:00

for a game this fast the camera should really show you more in the way you're facing, the way it is you don't have enough time to react to bullets and such unless you stop and go a lot. i like that it's oriented mostly below you though. also speed related is that deaths are sudden and make me instinctively hit enter without looking at the score.
the level generation never trapped me or anything, but i'd sometimes wander into hot spots of enemies or points. the attack was really cumbersome compared to how easy it was to just dodge, to the point that it was rarely useful. maybe if dead enemies dropped points it would work better.
i guess most of that wouldn't apply if it was finished though...
and yeah the graphics were really good, and it felt great to laser things. sorry about all the text.

too much review:
it's pretty easy, i only died on the ballsofsteel difficulty, and i didn't remember the force reload button. i guess the difficulty is more in getting high scores, but your score disappears really fast after you win, and instantly after you die. jeremias said dodging was a problem, what's the deal with that? you want all these passengers to die?
the only bug i could find was a graphical menu thing: options don't become un-highlighted if you move the cursor between menu items below or to the left and go fast enough to skip the gap. man that's a pointless bug report. it works, that's what i'm saying.
i thought that the mines were useless but i was wrong. they're good for asteroids that are too close and to help avoid running out of ammo. i don't understand why you'd get paid more to destroy more asteroids. maybe it's a cruise ship and they want to put on a show for the guests?
final score: 'salright

oh, i thought it followed the theme because you were making things minimal. didn't have any jump troubles. good game except for the giant wall.

okay, well i played that for i'm pretty sure too long. i used my phone.
bad: as it runs it progressively freezes up more and eventually crashes. this happened consistently. when dying and retrying the music often played over itself and sometimes the intro song would play too.
good: the enemy types complemented eachother and it all fit together well game design wise. i had fun.

apparently it's an htc incredible 2. it was the cheapest in the store. i highly recommended this strategy for buying phones.

thank you all for the nice comments! sorry it doesn't have sound. i couldn't make my own music because it would have been bad, and i think any sounds i added would either make it feel empty or prevent you from playing you're own music over it.
also, note that the first comment is from like halfway through the first day.

@recursive frog: there's basically no chance you'll see this because there's no real reply function, but were you destroying the obstacles? if you are and it's not working, please tell me what browser you're using and such.
oh dang i used "you're" instead of "your"
