LD13 — Roads (25)

Title by David Duarte

nice graphics but as the game is not playable it's quite hard to rate the rest :/ i wonder what it will become if you finish it :)

Unknown by Terry

please put the link back ! it's not a problem if your game isn't 100% finished at the deadline, ld is just for fun. we want to play your game ! :p

I have finish … by Sébastien Bernery

very good messages written on the buildings ^^ the graphic style reminds me school drawings :D too bad that you didnt come up with a real gameplay :/

Lone Racer by robot_guy

sorry i couldnt run your game (although i have python and pyglet installed)

Traceback (most recent call last):

On The Road by ragnor

it's obviously unfinished and very buggy (we suddently die, or see unexpected things, text goes beyond the screen...) so that we can't play normally for more than 2min without having to reload the game. but if it were more polished it would certainly have given a very good result. i like the photos and the ability to save the game, but the rest is not that good

LD Road Racer by psnake

on my ubuntu, your game didn't want to run and yield an error in the loading of images. to make it run correcly, i have replaced the "\\" in the paths to the images by a "/", on lines 43 and 46 of main.py and on line 15 of background.py.
now for the game, i liked the collisions a lot, but sometimes the way is simply impossible to pass through without losing life. for the gameplay, acceleration and deceleration is fine but the horizontal movement of the car is not realistic. overall, the game is good but maybe light in terms of work and features

Bulldozer Blitz by Orangy Tang

nice graphics, good gameplay and concept ^^ although i didnt understand how it ends : do we have to maximize our score and quit manually before losing too many points ? nice features like the menu, the highscores, but maybe some more game mechanics would have been be good (reparing tiles becomes quiclky boring). very nice entry :)

Chopper vs. Trucks by ondrew

i liked the concept of the game :) it fits pretty well the theme and is technically more than correct. but there are problems with the camera (very hard to see cars coming) and the gameplay kills a bit the game's potential (we can't really aim)

DEAD END Will be at by OblivionCry

please no rar files if you want you game to be played by linux users :(

Voyage, a puzzle game by nilsf

i love the "zzz" animation :p it's a simple and efficient game. menu and animations are polished. it's not the kind of game i like to play but it's pretty good in it's style :) the "choose your way" idea is cool, but maybe the game needed more game mechanics not to be too classical

I has FAIL! by MrPhil

i love the user interface, it's too bad you couldn't finish it. seeing roads being built would have been cool too (as well as a way to earn money and a goal of course)

Bullrushes by midwinter

the concept could have been cool but its implementation has major flaws :/ the gameplay is quite bad, as it's hard for the player to have an influence over the fireflies. i didn't really get what the goal was apart from trying to multiply the fireflies. but the game has very nice graphics and i think it can potentially become a nice toy/game with a little more work on it :)

Checkpoint racer by matrin

it's hard to distinguish the front side of the car from the back side; the maze generation is pretty cool; we can get completely stuck in the grass; sometimes collisions with the checkpoints don't work

Puzzle Road! by jlnr

on ubuntu, i have installed ruby and rubygems but when trying "sudo gem install gosu" :
checking for pangoft2... no
configure: error: Missing pangoft2
*** extconf.rb failed ***

Frog Rescue by Jerm

very nice game, some features are very polished. baaad scrolling, very nice zoom. the game is very clear and the gameplay is easy to understand

PizzaBitch by Sophie Houlden

nice entry :) the game is a little bit hard to control, but after 1 or 2 plays it's ok. main problems : too small depth of field so we end up looking at the map only; the map (level design) is too strange so it's hard to go where we want; tiles often turn black we get on them (i suppose it's because they get deleted too early); our car's smoke makes that we lose the little depth of field we had. but apart from these points, i loved the game ! some parts are very polished, and even if the car is quite hard to control, we get used to it and master its direction after a while. maybe the intro is too long and takes a too big proportion of the graphics (after having seen the intro the rest of the game seems poor in graphics and too simplistic).

Highwaymen by Gilvado

nice sfx ^^ (maybe different death sounds would be better) the game doesn't respect the theme that much :/ and the player's influence on the battle is very limited. but beside these it's a pretty good game !

I Give Up by Frimkron

respectable graphics, the control of the car is quite good, it has no major problem in it, but the content is really not enough for a game :/ too bad that you could'nt get as far as you wanted... maybe next time ^^

Sombrero Runner(s) by FourEyes

pleeeeease, don't give rar files if you hope your game to be tried by linux users

Roads to Nowhere by erik

very polished level design :) i'm amazed that you have been able to do them in 48h only. the levels make the game well balanced, and so it is very pleasant to play. big need for undo option :D. better graphics or animations would have been cool too, because as is it might be too cold or discourage some players to keep playing the game.

Emergency Bypass by dock

very nice entry ! even though there's no real goal in the game (apart from lasting as long as possible) i find it very polished. i don't know how unity and your other tools ease 3D dev but the game is technically impressive. very good gameplay (unless maybe when we are creating a bridge) and game experience, good work :)

Interstate Trucking by Doches

=> sorry i could'nt play your game

Pot Holes! by Devon

oh noes!! same name as mine :p the game didnt run on my ubuntu but as its name tempted me i tried it on a windows computer ^^ very nice graphics, simple and efficient gameplay. but it's a bit too slow and the collision detection is very bad :/ so overall the game can easily be perfected but the basis is pretty good :)

Unknown by dertom

i loved the idea behind the game and it fits well the theme :) but the game is quite buggy : clicks not detected, cars which disappear before arriving at the end of the road. very nice try for the 3D map

Done! With Zombies!!! by dave1

after like 10 seconds the clouds stop moving and the "game over" screen appears. i tried several times and it stops always like that, except once, i've seen a gas station and some zombies but just after the "game over" screen appeared. so for me the game is too buggy, sorry
