SonnyBone

I was able to run this on 'fantastic' settings at 1080 without a single hiccup. Apart from some popup issues and the clipping, it's quite beautiful.

My biggest gripe is that the turtles just slide out from under you... and the penguin drowns. lol

bluescrn

Very nice graphics - some good textures/models/lighting there, certainly one of the prettiest LD entries around.

Let down a little by the camera controls/camera clipping through things (I tried playing it on a laptop touchpad, though)

I must check out Unity some time soon :)

Aargh inverted vertical camera control!

Aside from that, though, it looks pretty damn good! Nice looking models and crisp textures. I would have liked some sort of animation for the player character - it always looks so wrong just sliding a stiff model around (at least when it's an organic character like this).

Game is beautiful! This is some place I'd like to vacation, if not for the frictionless turtles and inverted camera.

Sounds and music fit the game pretty well.

Mechanic wasn't too interesting, but exploring the environment made it worthwhile.

Entar

Controls are a little finnicky, but the game was otherwise nice. Nice environment.

The Camera controls get me the most in this game. Very good graphics and very nice that you got a 3d Unity project finished in 48 hr. I liked being a penguin.

refrag

The camera controls are brutal but otherwise a good entry.

recursor

Very nice! The turtles look like giant bloated ticks. lol!

treeman

Fantastic graphics! It's unbelievable that you did this in just a weekend. Wonderfull.

But seriously the inverted y axis camera control freaked me out.

pekuja

A very pretty game. The penguin and the turtles look unnaturally shiny though. The penguin looks like it's made of rubber and the turtles look like they're polished marble or something. Regardless, the gameplay is pretty basic. The level design was pretty good though; I only missed one treasure chest on my first run through, even though technically the world is completely open for me to go anywhere.

eli

Excellent work getting this thing together! As others have mentioned, the inverted Y axis is a big negative mark for me. Also, staying on the turtles is extremely difficult.

I really liked the exploration aspect.

fydo

Very pretty! I liked the music too.

I must admit, it is difficult to tell how much of this is your hard work, and how much of it is just Unity. Especially since you've admitted to being lazy, in your timelapse post. ;)

Not to worry, I've given you the benefit of the doubt. :)

Endurion

Alas it would run quite jerky even on fastest setting. I however found 4 chests before giving up on the triple barrel jump.
Nice idea, exploring is fun, the camera control is most annoying though.

sfernald

Amazing use of tools. I know you've talked about it some, but could you write a more in-depth article talking about your use of tools in the game.

In particular, I'd like to know how you did the islands and the textures for the islands.

How you did the turtle textures, barrels textures and the flags and the waving of the flag, and the grass and the wood textures.

How you did the bird and turtle models, and other models.

How you did the shadows, amazing water and reflections, etc.

Please more details. I like to work smarter, not harder too.

Thanks!~

Perrin

Really great use of Unity, a very polished and complete feeling game. Had problems with the camera but in general enjoyed playing.

Spiridios

Wow, an LD48 that makes my graphics card fan actually spin up. =p Camera controls, yada yada. Had fun with it though.

philomory

The graphics are quite nice looking, especially the sky. Music isn't bad either. However, no matter what settings I try using, on multiple computers, I find myself unable to keep the camera under control - the slightest twitch of the mouse and I'm looking at either the sky or the ground; it essentially became impossible to play. Pity, it looks like it could have been fun.

Jonathan Whiting

Attractive, good work on the content. Did suffer a bit from the seemingly common unity "find x things" effect, but the inclusion of some platforming elements raised the gameplay a bit.

Tozy

The best graphics in a LD ever! :P (at 10 FPS, thoug LOL)

drakfyre

Pretty standard Unity game, love the penguin though. :)
