I really loved this. Such a charming way to make so much from so little. Saw the twist coming from a mile off though.
So I'm sure you're not expecting any commendation for the gameplay or the graphics, and indeed I did experience some bugs, and cleared the screen before the narration had finished, but I still found myself having fun. It's clear you had fun writing your script, and I'm impressed you found a way to make an interesting and complete game in just an hour!
Oh no all of them bricks. *kills another brick* nahh, who cares!
I like the idea but you should have edited the narration.
ToloaGames, I only had an hour so editing was in no way an option so sorry about that.
Mate, you need to practice reading aloud ;) Nice concept, I like the idea. Also impressive to do it in one hour.
nonetheless, yeah I had to do it in one take so the stutters may be too intense for some audience members xD.
I was not expecting a narration. I got a narration. There was a bit of stuttering, but I understand time did not permit extensive edits.
Nice take on the theme and great for an hours work! :)
Impressive for an hour's work. I don't think you'll earn a career as a voice actor though ;)
I moved the platform and squashed the ball into the wall?
Catquatwa, yeah you might want to avoid the corners I didn't have time for much bug fixes in the hour. Sorry about that.
Great attempt for such a short time!
Interesting... I wish there had been subtitles, now I missed some parts of the narration.
Jani Nykanen, I had wanted to add them but didn't have time so sorry about that (;
Interesting take on the theme. And yes, you do have a very nice voice. For awhile there you were reading into my thoughts!
Hey you played my game the other day and left some really positive feedback that I took to heart and upgraded the game I did, my compo entry is the same but if you check out my posts there is a link to the polished version game in there and as it was partly due to your feedback I did it I wanted to share and see if the polished version lives up to what you thought it might
cynicalmonkey I replied on your post-mortem post.
Obviously the narration was the best part. I like that you left the stutters in.
somehow it got addicting
Whoaw, one hour Ludum Dare, now that's hardcore :)
Interesting idea and good job with narration
The narration made the game. Good job. I included it in part 11 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ypxK5QAWPFI
Not much to say. Good for what time you had to work on it, was fun to listen to. Kept losing the ball in the corner of the wall, though.
For some reason, I found the narrative to be pretty funny. It reminds me of the original Super Mario Bros., where according to the manual, all the blocks are actually Toads encased from an evil spell by Bowser. The game had an interesting Stanley Parable vibe to it, especially since the narrator kept insisting on the player to stop playing the game. There were some rewards for listening through the entire narrative, so that was neat.
So little and so much to retain, maybe i shouldn't play this kind of game anymore, feel maybe, dunno, will i sleep well tonight? haha
