I like the game idea, but the gameplay is always the same so it gets boring
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD43 → The Sacrificer

I adored the character sprite. Damned good. For four months of learning game dev I'd say you're doing great. Agree with Daniel that the gameplay gets pretty repetitive. Being able to mess up and throw people the wrong way added a lot, but there was rarely a cause to move right and make that mistake. Maybe some enemy variety like a ranged attacker that forces you to dodge and move right would bring that into play. But I get that it might have been out of scope for the jam deadlines.
Keep at it though, you're doing a good job so far.
Hi! Same as above. If you still have time, make a 'hotfix' to the game where you don't need to repeat the same action exactly 50 times. I didn't get to building a tower yet. I'm pretty sure such a bugfix wouldn't lower your rating, on the contrary :)
Good job anyway, keep pushing, keep pushing!
I think the game lacked a objective (to achieve 100 life, build 5 towers, clear different stages, score system) and gets repetitive really quickly.
The mechanics would be more interesting if you had something like a tower defense style game, with enemies with different behaviours and routes, making obrigatory to you to move from one point to another and making the tower more valuable, as it would prevent their advance in one side while you are busy in the other.
I know the timeframe is really oppressive, but think of the jam as an experience in order to enhance your developing skills. The fact that you was able to deliver a playable product is already worthy of praise. Many people gave up.
Hope to see you in the next jams!
@daniel-abeleira @zemmi @derek-volker Thank you very much for playing my game! :D I tried adding different color "sacrifices" and different altars(for different colored sacrifices) before the compo ended and it ended up messing my whole game up, for some reason it worked in the unity engine but it didn't work when I created a build of the game, so, I had to enter the jam with what I had done. Thanks again for playing I hope to see you next Ludum Dare! :D
Well done.
Well, not bad for someone who started developing games a few months ago. But the gameplay is not much fun. I found the best way to play to just stand at the altar and keep pushing my left mouse button. But never mind and keep going. You'll get better with every game you create. (:
I hate to echo what others have said, but the gameplay gets repetitive pretty quickly. I basically just sat there left clicking nonstop. It would definitely be nice if there was some way to win. What actually made me lose was purchasing a tower too fast-- I did it as soon as I had 50 life and I died upon getting it, lol! This isn't terrible for something made in only a few days, though. Kudos for completing your fist Ludum Dare! :)
