Great game! I may need to pick your brain on how you synced the notes to the beats. I played through a handful of times trying to get a better score, and kept having fun each time. Thank you for making this!

An interesting game, I really liked the graphics and the idea I would be glad if you rate my game <3 https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/$240408

Very nice game! I really like the choice of mechanics in the game, and I really got sucked in to getting my score up. I would really like it if you could rate my game. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/descend

I got addicted very quickly, a very fun game. Wish there was more music to play, but I understand why there isn't. The one thing that I feel is missing is a high score table.

Very fun and really hard. I got addicted pretty quick, well done!

A tiny rhythm game with classic asdf control(but why not zxnm?.jpg). Could be quickly played with and get some relax. Good job!

High score 20760. I love rhythm games. The triplets felt off time to me but I had a good time playing it nonetheless. Nicely done!

timtipgames 2021-04-28 15:49

@fatebreak You are absolutely right, that something about the triplets is off. I don't think they are off time, but there certainly is a flaw in the trigger logic, that requires extremly short keystrokes to pass them without breaking the combo. I think it has something to do with the colliders of the keys overlapping with two notes at the same time and the totally messed up detection logic that I ended up with - typical game-jam attitude :-p The convoluted logic made it kind of impossible to solve the issue in time. But you are right and it still bugs me that I didn't have the time to solve that bug. I kind of don't consider it gamebreaking, so I don't want to fix it after the deal.

Glad you enjoyed it nevertheless and thanks for playing!

@rafabriet It was number one on my "if I have a little time left, I will do this next" list. Definitely would have been the top priority in terms of features.

Not in sync but even with that it was very pleasing ! Nice music

Good track and very nice visuals. Out of sync unfortunately. I also tried to make a rhythm game for some other ludum dare and mine was also not in sync :D One day I'll figure it out.

I see a lot of people talking about out of sync notes. I'm pretty sure you're perfectly on sync, the only issue is that you are PERFECTLY on sync. Players will want to anticipate the notes coming in, so if the note is actually on the tile but not "exactly" on the tile, you'll miss it or it will sound out of sync. I played it once and completely missed most of the notes, mainly because I didn't know the song so I had to anticipate. Once I knew the song, it was much easier to play only by ear and by audiating (by singing in my head).

I'd suggest widening your "acceptable press" timing range, and also animating the notes when they do land, this way even if I'm missing them I have a visual feedback of the rhythm and sync up.

The music was cool, could've been even longer ! Here's my highscore :

13230! Didn't find the notes out of sync, but sometimes I lost points for releasing slightly too late? Cool idea!

timtipgames 2021-05-03 10:50

@thegreenworm You are absolutely right. I actually already did add some offset to adjust for reaction time. But probably not enough. Very good observations and great recommendations. Thank you for your constructive and helpful feedback!

Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to stream! I really enjoyed it, and hope the feedback helped! Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch;

Pretty cool simple game, I wish there was more audio feedback on the notes and a simpler to understand grading system instead of numbers, most rhythm games use words like perfect, great, good etc, they're a bit more simple to understand if you don't know the max score per note.

terrareef 2021-05-10 14:37

Great game! Love rhythm games so I was supper happy to see that someone made one for the jam.

monkosum 2021-05-10 15:41

As other people have said, the notes are heavily out of sync. But this game was still really fun. I ended up getting a score of 16130. Very solid entry!

fueelin 2021-05-10 18:54

Nice game! I liked the song, and everything felt mostly response/synced up for me. Good work!

sestren 2021-05-11 01:50

Really enjoyed the song. Thank you for pointing out that restarting might fix the desync issue, it really helped me enjoy the feel a lot more on the second playthrough.
