While not quite a game I thought this was an excellent entry. It's a very charming toy/tool, and seeing what you've made with it is pretty cool. I can't say I'm nearly as talented a tree drawer! It would be cool to see this tool expanded on to be more user friendly and perhaps support a richer simulation.

Every time I click the area, it flicks to the game screen and flicks back. Holding the mouse button seems to work, but since the mouse is needed for gameplay, this si useless...

Interesting Idea, but its not much of a game, as there is no way to win? If there is I take all that back but I couldn't find one? More like a drawing program for tree's! Its very nice nonetheless, just not very gamey

Well, not really a game i guess. The controlls failed to work sometimes which made me stop playing around.

I enjoyed making a tree. The controls were a little tricky to pick up, and the collision detection with the mouse didn't always seem to work with me. Also, it was more of a demo/cool idea than a game, since there wasn't really an object. The look is very cool - quirky and fun - and I like the fractal nature of the tree drawing - that's a non-trivial bit of programming.

Loved the graphics!

When I load the page, it just reloads and goes back to the start... am I doing something wrong?

Fraps + Audacity will record you a gameplay video. You can also use Windows Movie Maker to stitch things together a bit and VirtualDub to export segmented AVIs.

There are a lot of developers here that don't believe that interactive art or visual novels are games, please don't listen to them. As far as the interactivity goes, a little outside influence might be nice for future versions: Wind and sunlight affecting things and such.

Stuff like The POWDER game is still definitely a game.

There's a little bug when placing more than one leaf to a branch that results in a leaf being left on the stage.

more of an interactive art project then a game. it was a bit funny to make a branch with like 100 joints. good try.

I found the controls frustrating due to the hitbox thing, but if you can work out the collision detection a bit more, it could be relaxing. With better graphics, and perhaps some ways of setting up automated tree growth, according to rules or patterns that you law out, it could be a very soothing and beautiful game. Needs some relaxing new age-y music.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I really appreciate it. I tried to reply many times but I couldn't sign in until now.

@csanyk

Cheers
I don't think there are any collision detection issues. I think that is by design. You can not adjust a branch once it becomes a parent branch.

@Teknik,
Much appreciated. I think if you want to view it as an art project then by all means do so. I see it as a game.

@ButtercupSaiyan
Thanks so much for the kind words. I found the bug and fixed soon after you left the comment. But I couldn't log in until just now to thank you for spotting it.

I still haven't made a gameplay video, but I will take your advice and make sure I put it up, just for posterity's sake.

@ioquatix
Not sure.
If you click on the image in the left corner it will reload the page. The .swf has no preloader, so if you just wait the game just appear pretty quickly. :)

@Jeremy1080
Thank you :)
