Did you unzip it? It loads the resources from a folder called "res" in the same folder.
I like it! It could be a bit more polished up... a bigger level or something! It's not really based on the theme I think, but the sounds, the upgrades, and the fun... I really love your game! Good job!
Out of curiosity: How can one forget to submit a game that you have obviosly spent some time on? ;)
Player Bullets would have been nice. Or some impact graphics. Or somethings that indicates that I have hit the enemy (besides the health bar). Triggering the shop during fights was pretty annoying :) Not the best game in the world, but it entertained me for a while :)
Awh, I'm sorry to hear that you forgot to submit. In any case...
I really loved the art and the concept. Holding the jump key I thought was a little unintuitive, and the waves could have probably been better designed so that the solution isn't just to spam, haha.
But this was an amazing concept and I really enjoyed it!
Wow, thanks for the comments!
@joppiesaus Thanks, the usage of the theme was supposed to be that you only get one soldier. There was going to be an intro explaining this, but I ran out of time...
@timtipgames Because I was watching tv until about 10:30 last night...
...anyway, thanks for the feedback. I decided against bullets for the main gun because they'd be so small and so fast you wouldn't be able to see them anyway...at least for the first gun. Originally, you could change guns instead of just upgrading, but again, lack of time...
@zconnelly13 Thanks, but I actually thought graphics was probably the weakest area (the graphics are drawn okay sure, but the fluidity of the animation is HORRENDOUS...). I did notice that spamming became a problem, but I couldn't really think of anything to do but redesign the stage, and with there only being a few hours left...
I'm thinking about doing a post-compo version for the Ouya, but it depends on if I feel like doing it later or not. (Either way, its more likely to happen than the Bytt Strikes Back post-compo at this point, lol...)
Only a white screen in windows.. but nice music!
Nice little game, i liked the music and the charactere's eye *o*
to bad that you have missed the compo submission :(
Not sure what threat the flying enemies pose. I was able to focus on wiping out the ground enemies and got to wave 11 before I stopped playing.
Good Job and nice work! The Music is only on my left speaker, while sound effects (jump, shoot) are in the center. I kinda like that sort of game!
Not last place, certainly. Pretty weak on theme. Not bad overall though.
