Funny little game! Love the writing for the story leading up to the game. The punches have a really good visceral feeling.

Wasn't sure how to play the 1st level. :\ Why does the level restart when the character drops into the hole?
@bobfish For some reason, I can't get the king to fall onto the player's head though. :(
Incredible game. Love the art style.
The sliding-shut door gates reminded me immediately of Dark Souls - funny that you mention it in another comment here!
I tried the "run straight for the boss" strat, but got ganged-up on by a couple of sorcerers. Suppose that's what happens in Dark Souls as well. :D
Now that I've played it a few times, the call-outs to Dark Souls look more obvious. The healing animation brings to mind humanity consumption, and dying in the boss battle awards a feeling of frustration.
Great stuff!
Absolutely hilarious. I love the implementation of resource management, where you gain/lose something at the same time. Fits in very well with the theme.
Pretty awesome game you got there! I agree, the pixel graphics in a 3D environment look very slick.
I didn't manage to find any chickens. :(
Did a playthrough here: https://github.com/nucleartide/nuke-plays-games/tree/5055f78c1b2d27fcf7c140a7bddfcc55858b1747#cursed-relics
That was really cool! I do agree with Taikuri though with respect to the fast moving enemy. It feels like the difficulty hit a wall at that point. But really awesome game.
Wow, that was a really challenging game! Here's me getting to the end: i_did_it.png
Big fan of the mechanic, would love to see it finished. Great job. :)
Hey, thanks a bunch for reviewing my game! Wish I could review yours, but I'm on a Mac. :(
Any chance of a Mac build from Unity?
I ended up dusting off my Windows laptop.
That was really cool! The implementation is really slick — makes me want to get back into Unity instead of doing more PICO-8 stuff. I like the game mechanic of grid- and turn- based movement, and the music is great. Fun little game.
If anything, I feel like you could ignore the other elements though. I got through the game solely by going for the carrots and potions, and ignoring everything else.
