I think there should be more animations. But the idea is good.

Very good entry for compo, I liked the "stealth" aspect and the graphics (minimalistic but with a fitting screen filter effect). Needed a moment to figure out when the chicken was dropped or not (should maybe change its position a little). And the music loop (while fitting) was a bit..repetitive after a while. Also the spikes in level 3 were a bit hard to recognize, but otherwise: Good job, really!
Could you please compile for Mac osX ? I'd do it myself but our Unity-versions don't match.
@nikita-demidov Okay, I will publish Mac OS version on Itch.io
@ege686 Thanks for Feedback!!! I have already made animations, but I was low on time, so I didn't implemented that
@zondarg Thanks for Feedback!!! Yeah I needed to add text(E to Pickup) or (E to Drop) to determine is chicken held or not, I'm very bad at making songs, but I tried.
@nikita-demidov It must be there now
It was a nice game and I had fun playing it! There are 2 things worth mentioning tho:
1: Your game has some 3D elements(shadow in ladder-sprite, flying enemies) but it still thinks in 2D when it comes to spikes (touching them with your head=dead). You should add an empty object to the Player and give it a BoxCollider2D and make the offset so, that the collider is on the Players feet. Now check if the Spikes touch THAT collider and only if they do they should do damage.
2: The last level was more difficult than the rest without providing any hints that it is the last level.
@nikita-demidov Yeah I thought about that (to add collider on feet), and yeah I needed to add collider to spikes and not all trap, and I needed to add some text to say that is the last level. Thanks for Feedback!!!
Everyone has music but me! Awesome game, Awesome music, its still stuck in my head! The collisions felt a little weird when the robots head hit the wall though. The little comic at the start was a really nice touch!
@slotha yeah I needed to make collision a little bit better. Thanks for Feedback!
Was able to save the chicken until the end! :v: The last level was challenging! Well done! I like the old-TV post process effect!
@goutye Thanks for feedback!!Yeah last level was pretty hard , maybe I needed to make it clearer that this is final level.
Nice game with nice sound! And I found some bugs: 1) sometime the reload button can't work 2)Sometimes the chicken won't be killed by the black square robot even they are at the same place
It is very pleasing to see such a young man writing games and speaking english. Good luck, you definitely have a bright future!
This is overall a fun little game. I like both the graphics and the music. I think it would be better if it run a way from you when you are not holding it. Overall is this a pretty good jam game. Well done.
@corruptor2037 Thanks!!!
@joshuarabbit I will try to fix this bugs. Thanks for feedback!
@jk5000 Thanks for Feedback! I have tried my best, but I think I can do better, and there is a lot of things that I need to study.
The game is crashing for me =c
@henriquecanella I'm so sorry for your problem, maybe I need to make web version and it will start?
could you plz make an HTML5
@beavergames I have already did
Fun! The concept is solid, and the execution is good!
@untitled-studios Thanks for Feedback!!! I tried my best but I know I could make better.
P.S. I think I will update this game and make devlog on my channel about it :D
Good entry for the compo, but i just find that the music is distracting.
Robot and chicken make a good duo. It's a solid entry for the compo. My feedback would be that the background music is pretty annoying and distracting. I don't really like listening to the same 3 second loop over and over again. I found it weird that you had to be completely out of ammo before you were allowed to reload, bit of a weird design choice. Post-processing effects are a bit too much in this one. The chromatic aberration was too over the top. Solid game, but with some minor flaws.
not bad at all. The first couple of times i played i didn't realise i had to carry the chicken, maybe the post processing blurring out the tutorial text is too blame. anyway once i figured it out, it was pretty fun to play and i made it to the end. Annoying that you can't reload until you fire all the bulletes, i just dropped teh chicken and cleared the clip between enemy groups to be sure i could get through. As others have said music was annoying after not ver long so i had to mute it.. maybe next time just go for some weird ambient drones and add in sfx instead if music isn't your strong suit. Gameplay was pretty fun and presentation was mostly pretty nice and I kind of like the post processing stuff to add a bit of interest, maybe tone it down a touch though. good job
@automatonvx Thanks for feedback! Yeah as you said, music isn't my strong suit. Yeah I needed to make clearer objective what you need to do, and I think I overused post process too much.
@shigure Thanks for feedback! I always made a bad music because of it's repeatness. And yeah I made a mistake of not allowing bullets to reload after all is used.
Cool idea, with awesome music!
I like the graphics and it fits the theme. The music theme could be longer it gets repetitive after a while, overall nice entry!!
@splitpainter Thanks for feedback!
@pedro-miranda Yeah I'm pretty bad at making music(and games overall :D ), Thanks for Feedback!
Congratulations on finishing the compo. The amount of content is quite solid, while there are a few design flaws. I think all have been mentioned already: Reload before empty gun, blurred Tutorial text (due to post-processing), weird collider shapes. Besides that, it is a solid entry to the compo. On a side note, the youtube link in you menu is not working.
@plantprogrammer Youtube link don't work in web version or on all?
Yeah all these flaws were mentioned earlier, so next time I need to not overuse post process.
Thanks for Feedback!
Cute art and animations, funky sound track (could have used more variations), difficult game - all and all I'm very impressed that you put this all together on your own!
That was pretty cool. What I really liked was the atmosphere that you got into the game with the selection of camera lens. One funny feature is the reloading - I managed to lose the chicken multiple times but it was quite nice. :)
@sassykeys Thanks for Feedback! Yeah I have needed to make more variations of music, because it's a little bit repetitive. I always try to make game on my own :D
@bulle I have made that you can't reload your gun with your hands full of items, so you need to drop chicken and then reload with your one hand that is free. Thanks for Feedback!
@aret24 I only tried Youtube Link in the Web version. It said something along the lines of: Youtube doesn't allow this connection. An error message I've never encountered before. Please double check, though, because my internet connection had a few hiccups already today.
@plantprogrammer oh, I double checked, same for me. I think this is problem in itch.io because this site doesn't allow any links :(
I'm gonna leave link to my youtube in description on Ludum Dare page.
Wow That's Cool! Liked The Game Ambition And the robots. They are so cool! You made it for the compo! Good Luck!
@noamraz Thanks for so positive feedback!
I like the post prossesing affects. over all a short but fun game.
great work; keep it up.
Good game for a compo, the game play feel pretty good but there is perhaps too much post-processing. Good job !
Cool top down shooter. I absolutely love the background because it made it feel like I was playing on an old TV. I do think the movement felt slow in relation to the button input. Also I think there wasn't enough emphasis in the gameplay of the jams theme, what I would've done is instead of it being the robot's health have it be the chick's health instead and I think that small change would improve the feeling that you are keeping something alive. Overall good job!
@burg113 and @mopkoo Thanks for Feedback!!! My main problem is that I used post process incorrectly(too much).
@john-snyder Yeah that would be a cool idea to implement (I'm about chicken health), the main reason why I didn't include chickens health is that she is one hit(in most of cases), but I was dump and I needed to do so. And about Input, you right, maybe I needed to make more "free space" room? So I could make faster speed for the player. Thanks for Feedback!!!
Found the intro of the game hilarious XD. The gameplay felt really smooth and polished. I especially love the particle effects and post processing effects placed. The audio is also on point and reminded me greatly of spy movies!
My only issue with it is that maybe there could be some added visual feedback when you drop or pickup the chick as it can be hard to tell at times.
It was a pretty short game but I greatly enjoyed playing it!
pros; it has a chicken cons: it doesn't have more chicken
More seriously, I like the art and the fact that you made it yourself. You were also able to add good game design and interesting mobs on the levels that I tried (I didn't get to the end)
@lapisraider Thanks for Feedback!!! Maybe I needed to add some text like: "Press E to Drop" or "Press E to Pickup"?
@ldd Thanks for Feedback!!! I could fix this issue just replacing every sprite with chicken, but I think this wouldn't be enough :D Thanks again, your feedback is very important for me.
The baby chicken was cute, and I liked the warped screen edge effect. Music and audio was a little off, the repeat cycle for the background music had a long gap which felt odd and it seemed like sometimes the SFX didn't trigger or were lacking in a lot of places.
I think it would have been nice for maybe the chicken to escape your hands so you had to try and rescue it from other dangers such as the spikes as a nice extra challenge. Otherwise it was never that challenging for how far I got. Overall not a bad entry.
Quite enjoyed this one - gave a definitely 80s vibe with the CRT effect; I think any feedback is just echoing what others have said. I think the most pressing issue is that the collision detection (for the spikes at least) should be around the feet (I tried to navigate through a field of spikes and died when they touched my head).
@kjscott I'm pretty bad at making music, and I made it in 5 minutes, so I didn't made music that well. Your idea with chicken is very good, and at the day 2 I wanted to add this feature but I was low on time.
I want to make Devlog series about this game where I'm gonna make bigger game (with all feedback on Ludum Dare), I hope I will make a good game :D
@amkingtrp Thanks for understanding!!! This is hard to give feedback on every comment. Yeah 3 level as I seen is the hardest because of collisions(I needed to make it as you said only on feet). Thanks for Feedback! :)
Cute idea. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/jKms-qsuTgw
The gameplay is nice and the character design is so cute. Great work!
@jupiter-hadley Thanks for reviewing my game in your vid :D
@naca Thanks I tried my best!
Solid work, didn't encounter any bugs and game play was quite smooth! The music was decent at first but started to annoy quite fast when it was looping. And what others said about the collisions.
Also the chick is cute.
Oh, and I think you should update the page to reflect that the itch.io contains web build of the game! Some people might turn around when they see there's no web option available (or they think there isn't)
@sorko Thanks for Feedback! I will definitely change ludum dare page, thanks for advice :D
It's a very fun idea, and the music is awesome. Have you done it by yourself? I think you should take the time and keep on working on it.(Maybe add some more animation stuff and more levels) Well done!
catchy tune. nice style and look. A little lost at first but simple once I knew. Pretty fun solid game
The concept was funny and unique, and it made for an interesting little game. I did have 2 small issues with the gameplay, though: 1.) You have no way to tell whether or not the chicken is being held or has been dropped. A slightly different graphic of the robot carrying the chicken would help with this. 2.) Whenever I tried to fire a bullet, there was almost a second long delay after clicking before it fired. This made it extremely difficult to aim and shoot enemies.
I'd love to see what more you could do with this!
I really enjoyed it! The game is a lot of fun, the art is great, I liked the soundtrack too. Good job!
