Pleased to say your Linux build runs without issue. What a relaxing game! Really enjoyable
Found it a little difficult to see which colour I had selected, other than that, great

@bcvery1 Thanks mate! Also, great to know the Linux build does indeed work. :))
Good idea. Congrats with your first ludum game :)
Awesome!
It was all fun and games, until I fell out of the sky for the tenth time XD great idea to do a First Person match 3 game, I would love to have a paintball gun when shooting the boxes but I understand the time restriction. Good job :)
Difficult to use on a laptop without a wheel, but I tried my best!
@eddynardo Thanks! I had exactly the same idea with the paintball gun and yes, time restrictions is the only reason this is not in the game. Might add it later though. :) Also, I know what you mean, falling out of the sky is the primary way to die in this game. :D @shoj92 Yep, should have added an alternative way to choose colors. :/
loved it! i had the self imposed goal of getting to the top had some falls along the way but i did it, felt great
@ididgame Thanks man! Getting to the top is indeed probably the best goal to set yourself in the game. Did it a few times myself, the video above is proof. :D
Wahou, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of your game, very relaxing. And this music ... :) Well done !!
What an interesting idea. Let's get the "bad" things out of the way first: *"You fell out of the sky"*. My colour deficiency also made it ridiculously difficult to distinguish between green and yellow, but naturally, YMMV. :) The game is well made, and is certainly interesting, though seemingly light on mechanical complexity and any outstanding goals. The audio fits quite nicely as well. I'd suggest ~~using shades of green and yellow that don't look the same~~ adding some form of gravity-reversing mechanic to really screw with player's perceptions of direction. It'd also help with the cases of finding myself on the bottom of a hole, one tile away from doom, which unfortunately happened more frequently than I'd like. EDIT: Forgot to mention that you get bonus points for Norse coolness. :P
@gaming-night Thanks for being the first one to comment on the music. :)
@lumos I was aware of the problems people with color deficiency might have playing the came. Couldn't really come up with a good solution unfortunately. I'll look into how that could be alleviated in the post-compo-verson. Norse coolness all the way (even though I'm German)! :D
You're welcome @Vinterskog, I downloaded muzak.ogg to let it loop while I work;)
@gaming-night Right-on, mate. :)
I enjoyed playing this a ton as-is, but I feel like you should take the concept a bit further. I too gave myself the goal to get to the top of the structure, but once that felt impossible I didn't care about getting my score (1610) any higher.
This is a really cool concept and I love the minimalist look, but as-is there's just not much motivating the player to continue.
This is one or two ideas away from being fantastic, but regardless of that: I enjoyed my time with this a lot!
@devinwilson Thanks for your kind words. I'll definitely keep working on this. Glad you enjoyed yourself so far. :)
Interesting idea - can't rate it though since the control scheme doesn't really work on my MacBook. Scroll wheel binding doesn't work on the MacBook touchpad for me. If you added some alternatives for those playing on laptop without a mouse I think that'd be great!
Really chill game, where you just relax. Enough for me to like it a lot and give it a good rating haha. Nice effort dude.
feels good except for a few jerky moments of the camera (perhaps a sensitivity slider), the music also rang in my ears a bit, but a cool concept and I kept playing it for a good while
Like the others have been saying, this is definitely a relaxing game. I spent a good bit of time trying to optimize, which led to me just looking up and down through a maze of colorful cubes... very serene (the music helps, of course).
I notice that there doesn't seem to be any regeneration of blocks. On one hand, that makes the game difficult. But on the other hand, it makes climbing impossible after a certain point.
Also, because you are limited to the first person perspective, you only have the options immediately around you. That's part of what makes the game unique, but it also means that, if your immediate surroundings are sub-optimal, you're stuck, and may have no option to progress upwards away from your inevitable death.
I guess I'd have to spend more time in the game to figure out if these are game-breaking problems, or if they're just initial annoyances that I encountered.
Either way, you're implementation looks solid, from a player perspective. And the simplicity of the game is a wonderful thing. Good job with this game.
Nice game, very relaxing. Well, after I turned down the mouse speed, before that it was a bit shakey :-) Very good music, that made the game quite enjoyable. Too bad there was no win condition, but I managed to fall out, which is something, I guess :-) One really minor thing: The green and yellow spheres in the UI are not that different in color, maybe its just my monitor, but the yellow could be brighter, like in the game itself.
@tomdeal Yea I'll have some tweaking to do concerning the colors, it's on my list. :D Thanks!
Interesting idea, and a great LD entry
Great one. The music is perfect. It reminds me of playing Antichamber.
I did not win the game jumping off the side lol. That was a pretty fun experience. The overall tone felt calming, and I didn't feel rushed in any means. It felt like some sort of puzzle discovery. With each progression upwards, I felt some sort of accomplishment. I also have a jacked up mouse wheel, so it was really really really hard to switch colors :c I also enjoyed the music. I think the only things to me is how close you are zoomed in. At some points it felt kind of hard to see where to go next.
@yanni Thanks! I'm going to work on the mouse wheel issue and other things soon. I definitely want to polish this up a bit in the coming weeks and make it even more enjoyable. Cheers!
wow i loved every second of this game. but i really think it needs an objective, something like go to the top or paint all white blocks, anything to give the player a direction.
Neat idea and well executed. Feels great to reach the top. Mood and music is top notch. I guess my issue is that beyond a certain distance cubes are not able to be colored.
@randomphantom Thanks mate. The distance up to which cubes are able to be colored might be increased a bit I guess. I'll think about that. :)
Very nice!
I had some difficulties judging depth and actual physical structures of block formations because the lack of shading. Everything was flat shaded so obviously everything just looked flat. Wasn't that huge of a hurdle though because there was no time pressure or any other real dangers not allowing you to inspect your surroundings very carefully.
Would have wanted a better way to change paint colors. For example, the scan tool could be made to double as an eyedropper tool so you could just pick up colors straight from the walls with RMB.
That's about all I've got to criticize about. Maybe adding some more structure like starting with a smaller world which you would beat with a certain score and could then proceed to a bigger one. But that might be taking it to a different more puzzle like direction than the one you intended.
Anyways, good job and welcome to the LD!
Pretty chill game. The music fits perfectly and helps you getting immersed in this strange, blocky and colored world.
I don't like how you can fall and get a game over, I don't think it goes well with the point of the game (to relax). Aside that, it was an enjoyable experience. Good job!
Really nice game. Enjoyed working my way to the top. Unique concept!
Loved the idea. Made me feel relaxed and claustrophobic at the same time if it makes sense :) a level based mode would be great!
Interesting minimal feel great fun enjoyed it Alot. Nice work mate
I like games like this. The music is cool and relaxing. Thanks for the linux binaries 😘. Feel free to look and vote for our entry also made with Godot Engine: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/way-out
@nutriz Thanks man. Will do! :)
I like the idea, which is actually kind of like a 3d version of my game. The journey up is fun and interesting, but once you get to the top, the gameplay gets kind of boring and time consuming. The idea of having limited blobs is a great idea, but it is kind of eliminated because you get blobs back almost immediately. I didn't play the post-compo version, so I don't know if you fixed any of this.
@c1fr1 Thanks for your comment. I agree there isn't enough gameplay yet. I'm working on it. :)
I like this combo of voxel building and match-3 puzzle! I fell out of the sky too many times, but having a mechanic that offers an ability to avoid that could nullify the issue. Movement was decent, though there were times when I felt like I should have been able to jump into certain openings but I couldn't. I think this is a promising concept!
