Really good. However, I would have liked that the propulsor had a bit more power.

I got 948, not sure if that's a good or bad score. The game looked really good, the mood was fitting. The controls were fun to use when I got used to them. I like how you can continue going down even when out of fuel, making the end much more satisfying.

Really impressive! Overall really fun but I think the game would benefit with some adjustments to the controls. Either slowing down the acceleration or adding more power to the thruster maybe? Still, really solid

Really nice and fun! Althought my best scores were made just by bouncing off the walls without fuel and being lucky.

Really nice mood in the game. I enjoyed the sound effects and the overall feeling of discovery going down the shaft. I was very surprised at how "meaty" the inertia and controls were for the drone (not a bad thing, I liked it), and it really required accurate steering. I didn't get to reach the "end" (not sure if there is one), so I don't know if I missed something but I made it to 1200m-something depth. It would've been nicer if there were maybe more enemies or things to interact with, but in a 48 hours game compo this was really good, nice one!

Very pleasant submission, it is balanced - no complains on thruster force or physics in general. Not too easy, no crazily difficult, with fine allowance for mistakes, I like that. Nice modelling too.

Interesting selection of engine. Funny you have a rich controls settings, but (I know I repeat myself with this) yet no way to let me invert mouse vertical axis. Quake's console and *m_pitch* to the rescue! In other submissions missing this option not that easily adjustable :)

There is something to see, not too deep, worth of descending!

Really cool game ! A classic take on the theme but really well made and fun to play.

Good job

Nice game with fantastic mood. The graphics were simple, but the randomly generated (I assume) level looked really natural and organic, and the jellyfish were very cool. I agree the controls could do with being a bit more responsive, even if it had to consume some fuel for WASD move.

I also liked the sound and music, it was very relaxing to play. My only issue is I made it down to about 2.2k depth, and it was _really_ difficult to see, which a) meant I couldn't appreciate the scenery and b) meant it felt pretty random whether I was successful in getting deeper.

Fantastic Compo entry though! Feels great and well polished!

This is one of the most polished games I have seen so far! I really like the art style and just how clean everything is. The music is well made and the little sounds help give more impact to everything. The gameplay itself is basic but works really well and was a lot of fun. I think making the jet a bit stronger (at least vertically) would have helped because it would have allowed the player to get to some higher falling speeds. I liked the way the enemies looked but never really felt threatened by them. (I made it to about 1700 and only saw a couple red ones but mostly dropped right past them, if there's anything past that I apologize). Overall this was a great game and a great entry.

This is a fantastic game. I love the atmosphere created, especially by the lighting. I do wish that bonking took less fuel, I think the game would be slightly more fun if just bouncing around was a viable strategy. It also took me a while to find out the "lanterns" were extra fuel, and the game got a lot more fun after that. I was able to get to ~1500 meters before a jelly trapped be in a corner and hit me like 4 times in a row, which I found pretty funny. Even though there isn't much variation as you get lower and lower, I still wanted to keep coming back and try getting a higher score. Speaking of, I do wish the game kept track of your highest score somehow, I feel that would enhance the experience. This is probably one of the most fun games I've played this jam, and I'd love to this this game improved afterwards. Great job!

This is a surprisingly great game! My biggest criticism would be that the mouse look is kind of pointless; I ended up pointing the camera straight down and let go of the mouse to play.

I think if you add more content, both in terms of gameplay and maybe story (with the music the game actually has quite a good mood to it already) this could make for an amazing game and I wouldn't be surprised at seeing it on Steam or something. Great job!

I loved the low-poly art style! I also enjoyed the atmosphere of it all and really liked the idea of having the fuel also be the health bar. I do wish the bounces were a little less extreme though; when you still have fuel, the bounces are (I thought) pretty unforgiving and hard to recover from, and when you're out of fuel and just ragdolling down, the bounces can extend your fall by a good bit.

Nice gameplay and controls!

Very good and polished game. Super pretty, super moody. Thanks for making a Linux version available! :penguin:

Very nice name. Drone controls were nice and responsive. I liked that damage was expressed in additional fuel loss. Just the one bar to keep an eye on. Music was good too.

Your game has very strong atmosphere, i like it

brandon-hare 2021-05-12 09:02

Felt very polished, I liked the style and maneuvering the ship. It feels a bit heavy but I think that's a realistic take on it, and trying to hover slowly down is fun. Nice sense of discovery when the jellies started popping up. I don't know if there's anything new below 1000m, but even if there isn't the atmosphere is strong enough to have me believe there's a whole world down there! I like how you keep bouncing around for a while once you run out of fuel, I was always hoping I would miraculously stumble into a fuel pod and get a free life.

Absolutely awesome. Thick atmosphere, engaging gameplay, great music, sound, and visuals. I think this'll be one of those Ludum Dare games I'll come back to.

Managed to descend 2 km, eventually becoming too greedy by trying to hasten the descent by not using the booster. This led to imminent demise at the hands of gravity and hard rock. Solid models and a nice minimalist soundtrack, setting a some kind of a vibe to the whole thing.

blubberquark 2021-05-17 09:37

I liked the straightforward take on the theme, but I wish there was more to *do*.

Great mood, the darkness and music go together well. Love the depth meter. I get a bit impatient when playing "properly" though...
