Game was pretty cool, but I think the enemies should only disburse from the fire, not over time. The control being more point and click also made it a bit tedious to maneuver around the forest after some time, rather than engaging. If also felt like the fire lasted a very long time compared to how long it took to get to the objective. After a bit of running back and forth from the fire I realized I could just keep walking and not really go back to replenish it, the enemies disappearing on their own also didn't help with the sense of needing the fire.
I think if you had a faster burnout time on the fire, but a way to stockpile wood so it would "refresh" itself if you were gone could lead to more of a need to manage it. Overall tho I think its pretty solid.
Great! Love the art and the atmosphere :)
The game is at it's most fun when you're delving deep into the woods, with eerie music playing, darkness all around, nervously watching the amount of time you have left to replenish the fire. However, I barely found myself reaching that point at like 5 minutes into the game. It made it more frustrating to die, because I knew I needed to play through the first 5m again to get back to the good stuff. Overall, though solid entry with great art, music, and atmosphere.

I love the atmosphere, art & music work fine together to bring this dark night feeling. For the gameplay, I would have loved to be able to bring a torch with me from the fire, with a limited lifetime, because it's veeeery hard to avoid ghosts! :)

Good setting. Is there a way to reach the cabin? Was searching for it but was unable to find it.
@swen It is possible to reach it. It's a secret way to win the game ;-)

Nice game, It would be great if the monsters would get killed if they are chasing you till the fire camp! :-) Awesome graphic-style!

I made it to the house ! Is here an other way to win this ? The speed of you character was a bit frustrating as you had to go back and forth. Especially when you go very far in the forest and you realise you have to go aaall the way back Graphism are super cool though !

The atmosphere was fantastic! I really enjoyed the world and the overall settings. Audio was also very interesting and added a lot

Was really hoping for some sweet country music in this setting but retro dark electronics will do :) Great atmosphere.
Really neat little game. The title suggested I would be hearing guitar music which I was missing from this though.

where is the sweet folk or country music behind the dark electro :( Nice take on the theme, i was having a quite similar idea when we began the jam

I found a way home!! (In fact, path search algorithm found it. )

Not a bad idea, but the controls were pretty awkward to control. I couldn't figure out what I was doing for the first 2 attempts, so an explanation that its a grid-clicker would have been much appreciated. Unfortunately, I think that this control scheme didn't work very well for the concept, given that tight, quick maneuvers to get firewood to the fire and to get away from the smoke ghosts were the main challenge. Collecting logs felt too easy, and avoiding monsters felt too hard. A fun idea dragged down by the choice of controls. Its a real shame I can't enjoy this to its full potential.

Nice graphic-style!
Wahey, here's to wood collecting games haha. ( I did one too! )
Bonus points for the music, very cool synth vibes. :)
As others have said, maybe a bit of finesse on the controls, or a different control system would help once you're in the forest maze trying to avoid smoke monsters.

I do like the pixel art here the animations where pretty good. I had some issues with the controls they felt a little awkward. I have seen this keep the fire concept a lot, slightly repetitive so I wish there was something else besides care for the fire. Good job though I think this could be something if the idea was flushed out a little more. I did like the mood though.

It was easy to understand and as the time passes by it will get more difficult just because you have to go farther. Well done! I really like the graphics and mood.

Uh nice pixel and animation. I didn't have a bad time with the controls. I enjoyed playing just with the mouse ;)

I too was looking forward to guitar music. But it was still fun without it.

Nice game! =)a Only thing that annoyed me was when monsters appear in a 1-block path, I'm either dead or the fire burns out because I can't get the wood.

This has a really nice look. The light gives a good ambiance.
The itch.io link you provide is not for your page, it's a link to a general list of games with ld46 tag. Would be nice to fix it :) I like the graphics and the ambience! But my friend were complete bastards - I'm coming to the fire chased by a monster and they don't even look up from their drinks ;).
nice graphics, i feel like the mood was ruined by the music. not that i don't like the music, but it's not really fitting. also i find it amusing that our core idea for our jam is nearly identical to yours, guess we weren't too creative:)
@fabula-rasa thank you very much! Fixed the link
Really love the art in this, would have liked to have a more acoustic campfire guitar track in the music.

Who are these numpties just sitting around singing while you go out there and face monsters to feed their fire! Rude.XD
This was pretty atmospheric, though considering the prominent guitar I was surprised by the lack of guitar stuff on the audio front. The graphics were great, and floppy moustachioed guy by the fire was one of the most entertaining pixel animations I've seen this whole Jam. But it would have really upped the challenge if you had to race all the way back to the fire each time to disperse the demons. As things stand, it was actually pretty relaxing after a while. Would have also been nice if the forest map had openings all around and not just in one direction. But overall it has a solid core with lots of potential. Nicely made.

Cute animations :) Perhaps WASD/arrow controls would be nice too. Purple lights from enemies seem to stay around after they 'die' - not sure if intended or not. The guitar player could play some guitar music that goes along with the main track when you're nearby the fire/in sight of him. Like he's playing along with the game/the main track. Cool game :D
Well dont Like te animations, The lighting was good beautiful composition. Keep it up. :v:
