wow, I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning, in the middle and in the end I still have no idea how I have beaten it but I had tons of fun and enjoyed it a lot. Definetely a unique take on a rhythm game
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Rectangular rhythm selection game

> I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning, in the middle and in the end I still have no idea
That also perfectly describes the process of making this game.
Damn, I quite enjoyed playing this game. Very unique indeed. I was actually hoping to play more levels lol.
The little intermission story was really fun and basically reading my mind, at first I didn't quite get that I was able to use +1k tiles multiple times, then I realized it and felt like I was breaking rules, then I realized that it was probably meant to be like that. Even though it starts quite slowly it works and really build ups the game
I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing, but something about the game kept me engaged and I genuinely found it fun. However, for the final level, perhaps consider a maximum speed? My eyes couldn't keep up and felt strained afterward.
Well, this is really a unique game.
I liked the learning curve, the outfading lines and the humor.
Great, innovative entry!
Very unique mechanics, definitely took quite a while to figure out what was going on. The lines and text look really nice, but the sounds jump-scared me when it came out.
@nicename > However, for the final level, perhaps consider a maximum speed?
The last level requires a change of strategy. The speed shouldn't be that huge problem if you get it right.
@monsieurduck > sounds jump-scared me when it came out.
I'm sure That Guy did warn you about sounds.
I like the gradual build-up. I felt like I had a pretty solid understanding of the rules as they were introduced, which I think allowed the later levels to be much more exciting/stressful than would have otherwise been possible.
In the rotating level for some reason I thought the x0s applied to the whole score and not the amount added, so I would take drastic measures to avoid them and keep hitting the -10k accidentally. I'm also curious what the rotating levels are like for different aspect ratios. On my 16:9 monitor it took a while to learn that putting boxes near the left and right meant "losing control" of them when the play field rotated 90 degrees.
This is the most deeply hilarious game i have ever played. From the goofy guy talking to me, to the completely incomprehensible rules, to the desperate scrabbling to create a workable game idea, to the abrupt ending that quits the game. Amazing.
2/5 in fun 5/5 overall
It's quite unusual and interesting to try to understand the rules intuitively. The guy who explains what to do is funny.
That was fun! I liked how the changing constraints made it necessary to change strategies and discover more about the system. Finding the strats made me feel clever like a good puzzle game does. I'm wondering if you were literally winging it when making the game (since you said so in a previous comment) :D Anyway, that statement being part of the setup to the game kind of adds to it. All in all, a good game!
Did not know what to expect but that was an experience. Love the simple beginning and the insanity that it becomes. The writing was fun and witty. The eventual sound design was punchy and made me want to keep playing.
Great job
Very cool idea to just describe what goes through your head when making a new game. It was a fun experience and it reminded me of the original Superhot story, which I think was quite neat. Especially for a jam, well done!
its was cool until i got into spinning levels, and i felt too dizzy to continue( anyway it was to learn how i getting points)
This was quite an experience! I appreciated how the early levels acted like a tutorial, so that I understood what was happening by the time things really went off the rails. My main complaint is the text on the power-ups was hard to read once they started moving, some combination of higher contrast, larger font, or different colors for good vs bad ones would be helpful - by the end I was just highlighting the whole screen and looking to see if the score change would be positive or negative before releasing. Overall I thought this was a really creative and humorous entry, nice work!
@captandrey
> i got into spinning levels, and i felt too dizzy to continue
Rotation direction changes sometimes on the second spinning level. This seems to almost completely fix the dizziness problem for me. Perhaps, it doesn't work for everyone.

That's exactly the change of strategy I mentioned in one of previous comments :)
