LD46 — Keep it alive

Oogy's Saviour by dingotime 2020-04-21T16:09:16Z

Great game. The contextual epic music is amazing! As for the game mechanics, the double control of shots and beam is a strategy game in itself to drag and protect Oogy, well done. I was a bit lost when going to the big black background the first time: I thought it was a fog of war, then an unfinished part of the game ;) But then I understood it was part of an exploring scheme. Big up !

Telephorus by eptwalabha 2020-04-21T07:08:20Z

Interesting concept! The game mechanics are a bit hard to assimilate, but it's an original strategic game. Improvement ideas : - To move the crew members, a drag n drop would have be nice, because we do not know the room names the first time. - Missing text "ui_heal" - A feedback about who has a mask would be great - An explanation about color codes ? Good game within the theme, even if it's seem the +10hours should not be used too much !

Oh! That's a Hare!! by metalfist213 2020-04-20T21:05:14Z

I give you the points for humor, as it's rare to see such introduction in Ludum Dare;) Yet I don't know if it's the linux version, but the font is not very readable.

The game itself reminds of old NES times with the gun. I find bear traps to not be visible enough sometimes. Do they appear at different heights ? Good game for a first time anyway !

HAL 2020 by OveRMolo 2020-04-21T15:30:00Z

In my opinion, the UI is not very clear about what is to be done. But I guess it's more about ambiance than gameplay, so for that audio and graphics do the job!

Heartbreaking by mAnimal 2020-04-23T12:12:52Z

The mechanic is quite innovative, and frankly, I think it has some cognitive interest as my brain tend to know what to do, but just cannot hit the space and jump in the proper sequence anyway ;)

Congratulations for nit giving up !

JamIt by jrf 2020-04-21T15:49:26Z

Good music, too bad it disappears sometimes ? It lacks of visual feedback (drinks + food) . Next you could add consequences, like people throwing up, cops for the noise, etc... Basically, the strategy I ended up with is to lower the sound on start to fire maximum people, then volume up to keep 5 or 6 people. Next is drink + food management to last until the morning. I don't know if it's a good way to keep a party alive in real life, but I had a good time playing yours !

Ant by Nakami 2020-04-20T20:24:36Z

It's been a long time since I played a Sokoban, thanks for the memories ! What I really enjoy is the revert key. Thanks for that;) The graphics have their style, it looks a bit low-res to be, but the Ants are nice I suppose you needed a certain time designing the levels, congrats for that. In the end, I think it lacks some fun on the long run, but it's some good work !

Flat Frat by Prism 2020-04-20T21:39:35Z

At first I thought "keep the party alive" was a weird way to be in the theme, but after playing I better understand ! The tasks are funny, yet a bit repetitive. Maybe you could have added new tasks after a certain number of hours. The combo keyboard + mouse is a bit unintuitive, for action would have been nice. The todolist at the left is great to optimise interventions. This is some nice work for a first jam, yet I would I loved to see the cops at the end !

Need for Feed - High Voltage by slam0 2020-04-21T15:15:08Z

As said, it's a bit tricky to understand what to do, the instructions do not really prepare to what's going on. In particular, I did not get how to use the selection as the drawn rectangle does not correspond to the effective selection... and I needed some time to understand the interest of item infos (and the selection mode) There are also some grey glitches on the soil, maybe because of the linux version ? But I had some good time playing your game once I understood the mechanics, which is the most important ! PS : some Unity games manage to map properly the "Up" key even on non-qwerty keyboards (that is, "Z" can be used on an azerty keyboard), that's something to dig up for internalisation ;)

Magic Lettuce: The Adventure Begins by Neg99 2020-04-21T15:34:38Z

The pitch was great, I wanted to play, but the linux link is the same as Windows'... so I can't !

Where did this baby come from? by maxflav 2020-04-21T11:34:03Z

Well done ! Nice concept here, with original graphics and an entertaining tune. A bit difficult a first, but once we understand how the AI works, it's more fun ;) I wouldn't like to live in your house if there are so many knifes on the floor :) Big up!

Radiohead by Sausty 2020-04-20T20:30:45Z

Original concept. The graphics are nice in their pixel-fashion way. The running kid adds some rythm to a game that is basically a sequence of static screens, which is a good idea. The enigmas are strangely not really random (several times the same kind), in the long run it could be nice to have more of them (unless some new ones appears at enigma 100 ?!) Good work !

Dying Ember by Michael Sjogren 2020-04-20T20:48:31Z

- those having a azerty keyboard are not at ease with A & D (can you add the possibility to use the arrow keys ?) - The flame gets darker, but I am still surprised when it's done. Maybe a mini bar of remaining time would have bee useful - I find the control of the flame excellent. - I like the text blur effects and the light/shadow effects - The flame has a good looking face. - A bit repetitive, or I did not go far enough to see the waterfalls ;)

Ozwomp Is Arriving by Melonking 2020-04-20T21:26:00Z

Despite the weird controls and the lag on my laptop, the graphics are colorful and paint a nice world. I talked to the "others", but did not make Ozwomp appear. I feel like I did not understand what I had to to in this experience, maybe to focused on the "keep it alive" theme, but the 3d engine has some potential for sure.

Egg Defender by SanicSpeedGames 2020-04-20T20:16:36Z

The ambiance is really great with beautiful artwork. It's a bit hard at a first glance, and too repetitive from my point of view... or I did not advance enough to see other ennemies and other guns ! Same thought about cubic ennemies ;)

Keep IT Alive by bollwerk 2020-04-21T09:52:45Z

Well done, I had a good time playing this, but it's easier than in real life ;) Graphics are goods, sounds set up the ambiance and the stress is here. I just not really understood how to stop the BSOD, spamming left button does the trick ? Anyway, very good job, starting from the title/theme interpretation

Fight the virus by drschizzo 2020-04-22T07:13:15Z

So we are in the same Corona club, uh ? Good game, the models are great and the fixed camera is nice to have an overview of the board. However, a more classic arrow => "move to direction" would have been more suitable I think (yet I am glad to see a unity game using the arrow keys, other tend to use WASD which is broken on non-qwerty keyboards!).

The sliders are great to set difficulty, but a bit tricky to master. Maybe a more "global" slider that move them all would have be nice too (that way, you could implement some kind of level/difficulty up) Anyway, very good first Unity project !

My first game jam ever by Nickdevr 2020-04-20T20:36:54Z

first-time feedback : you should make a webgl build so that more people can test :)
