Great job making your style stand out! Very cool!
Great game! I got bronze, gold, silver, silver. I thought the visuals were great. The distortion/static effect combined with the environment, gave it an eerie empty feeling. My head-canon is that we're already dead and that's our ghost flying around. There's a lot of potential to string cool maneuvers together fluidly. Replaying the same levels isn't my cup of tea, but I can see speed-runner types really getting into this :)
I wish I could be on the leaderboard, but I only managed to finish Level 1 - 40.48s
I'm not sure if I was using the launches correctly? they didnt seem to give me much of a launch. Other than that I really loved this entry, awesome audio and visuals, as well as a great atmosphere. Well done! :)
Neat game! I really struggled with the controls on this one. It was super satisfying when I could get it to work, but for the most part I didn't really know why gliding worked the way it did, or the L key outside of being on posts, or how to properly use posts. The art style was great, and the music very mesmerizing. Good job!
The positives: - I really liked the atmosphere of the game. Atmosphere can be hard to really nail down but i think the art and the music really blended together well - While i understood while I was doing (foreshadowing, haha) the gameplay was fun and addicting. - I think you managed to make backtracking fun, which can be difficult. The first half being exploration and problem solving and then having to retread the level at speed is a really great gameplay loop - Honestly, the atmosphere is so good I am going to mention it twice, nailed it
What could be improved: - I accidentally started on the third level and didnt really know how to get over the first obstacle. When i realized what i had done, I thought "Oh, the first two levels must teach you how to get over this"... then I played them and they didnt - I can see from your screenshots that you are somehow able to glide upward, and I managed to accidentally do it a few times, but I couldnt ever find out how to do it on purpose - some of the pieces of movement (like jumping high off the signs) required multiple button inputs that were hard to figure out, and sometimes a bit unintuitive. Once I understood how a level was "supposed" to flow it made sense, but then it kinda felt like there was a specific way to do the level and every other way was wrong.
All in all a great game, especially for the time frame. I only put this much work into criticizing games I enjoyed, hahaha
looks and plays amazingly! Though I couldnt work out what the signposts did (maybe give a boost?) I got stuck on the third level :sob:
The game looks really good! The controls are a bit confusing, but it's pretty fun to play
This game has incredible style and atmosphere. The transition in the music when the void starts approaching is perfect.
It took a lot of experimentation to figure out how the signposts work. It would be nice to see an explanation in the description above (like holding right or jump to go farther horizontally or vertically). But once I had a handle on the controls, the game felt beautiful to control. The gliding was really satisfying, especially when I could manage to swoop over a platform to keep my momentum going.
One thing I might change about gliding is to allow for a steeper descent. The couple places with pillars coming down from the ceiling were a little awkward, since there was no way to fly around them. It also might increase the skill ceiling a bit if you could make quick, tight swoops downwards for faster acceleration.
There are a couple places where the signposts were a bit tricky to use. The first signpost on level 3 I always had to use a double jump from a swoop to get over the spikes, but I missed it 90% of the time (not sure if I'm doing it wrong). Also, the first signpost on level 4 could be a bit closer to the right edge of the platform so the sugar-glider doesn't hit its head on the ceiling.
Otherwise, I had a blast playing through the levels and racing my high scores. Got "legend" for the last three, but had trouble getting it for level 1, not sure how I'd improve that more than I already have.

Cool game, I really enjoyed the gliding, but then again it felt like holding it all the time to be able to glide and climb was necessary, quite difficult (I managed the first 2 levels, gave up on 3rd), but that can be a good thing. I didn't get the swinging on the torches, even after looking at it here, for me it didn't seem to give velocity and they didn't sway so much.
Who's this "Daniel" going after my scores??

Would like to mention that this has been my favorite game to play this jam, certainly top in the fun category. Learning to make tight swoops around objects, or drop and start flying again at the right moment, it just feels great to control, and the skill ceiling is really high, so it never feels like I've reached a dead end for improving my scores. Would be cool to see this as a full game some day.
I thought the visual style and the music worked together well. I was however a bit confused with the controls "K" was both gliding and climbing which made it a bit clunky because if I was climbing and let go of the button for a moment and pressed again all of a sudden I was gliding the other way. I think this should be fixed to really make the mechanics work. My other gripe was that the visual style was cool but it did make everything a bit hard to see. Overall A very nicely looking and sounding games but I think there should be some work on making the mechanics work better.
Great game, nice matching with theme, keep going
i'm stubborn when it comes to crazy controls for flight movement and gameplay. This is a lot of that. It's okay, but i personally am not a huge fan of these kind. The astethics in this game rule. Theme, feel, mood, music, animations, and general gameplay all seemed spot on!!
Really enjoy the atmosphere, seeing you used paper and pencil is very cool. Like others have mentioned, wasn't able to get branches to work (can grab them and hit the directional buttons, seems like maybe a particular rhythm is needed but I can't nail it). I think there's a lot of style here though and the fundamental movement of gliding and climbing is pretty immediately enjoyable. Very nice entry :)
The visuals and the atmosphere are super unique, I love it!

I don't have patience for ability games xD but loved the style! cograts!
Really interesting and polished game. Liked the idea, although the controls feel kinda weird and its difficult to have a more precise movement
congrats!
