I got stuck in a room with no exit, but it was a fun puzzle game
Really enjoyed the game! Love the artwork and style. Which the motion controls where displayed on the screen at some point, either from idling for too long or put into the corner or something. But, overall very, very well done! :)
I had a lot of fun playing this game. I played a few puzzles before getting stuck wit the one with only one egg and two runes blocks north and south of it. I had fun trying to solve it and I didn't end frustrated. Only thing that made me leave was the fact I lack to test games and I can't involve more than 20-30 minutes on each game. The Bgm works fine with me, apart the fact that it's not looping cleanly. The graphics are ok, I was not fond of the fact that u used 2x graphics for ground rune. Maybe you could have remake them with more details without ruining their visibility with the small ones.
I got stuck in third room, but the graphics and atmosphere is nice.
A great compo game! Satisfying puzzles. Ocassionally I seemed to be able to clip into my own body (specifically on the corners or using the redo command - even if I had nothing to redo). Still this feels very clean and I had fun :)
This a fun and actually challenging puzzle game, so a huge thumbs up for the difficulty from me, but it is a bit confusing, that you can bite yourself. My brain kept telling me since it is so similar to snake that you can not cross yourself.
This was fun to play, I like the concept of the game and the nice art style, I'm not that good with puzzle so I was able to only go so far but I had fun with it, I feel like the ability to cross your tail once helped the puzzle design a lot but was hard to understand before I read the hint, nice work!
Very nice game! Had some trouble understanding when you can cross over yourself or not, but I've managed to beat it 100% anyway, and reached what I think is the secret room? Well done!
Got to the secret room :) This was a great idea for a fun puzzle game. The one I had the most trouble with was the one with the egg in between the two runes.
Really interesting puzzle, quite innovative and challenging. I was a bit confused at first with how crossing yourself works, but eventually I got it. I love the art and the ominous soundtrack! Well done. Edit: the soundtrack btw was a bit too dark for me.

This was a really innovative puzzle game, I don't think I've seen anything like it! I had a hard time understanding some of the rules (particularly when you can and can't overlap with yourself...I think it's basically whenever there's a turn, but it wasn't very obvious to me). Nice job!
Super clever main mechanic, and great supporting mechanics that flesh it out well. There were a few places where I felt that what the mechanics actually did or how they worked weren't effectively communicated, but it only took a small amount of frustrated experimentation before I made my way back into a fun flow state. The art and sound are charming, and the puzzling vibes are great. Good job!
That was really fun. The crossing over rules made it interesting. I got to the secret room, though it wasn't obviously 'the secret room' until I played it through again and realised you can miss it. Leaving some eggs to come back to later from another door was a great mechanic. I was stumped at first before I realised you could do that. Seeing the broken eggs made me think I failed somehow the previous time I was in that room, until I realised they were being marked as hatched. Probably because their position is reset. The only puzzles I found a bit tricky were because I was forgetting I could cross over my tail.
Really great idea, and super polished!
This was great! A really good puzzle game with nice art and mood. I love the idea of asking questions from your comments, so here are my answers:
I found the game easy to get into, and for the most part I managed to solve the puzzles. The two last rooms, however, (at 1:50 and forward in your video) I could not figure out. Thanks for posting the solution so I could still get to the end. I think I hadn't fully grasped the mechanics of overlapping yourself. Watching your solution, I'm not sure I would ever have figured that out, so I'm glad I looked it up
I think it looks great! The style is consitent and the colors are well chosen. Most things are easy to read but if I was to nitpick on anything I would say that the walls could have been another shade, to differentiate them more from the ground. As it were, I did not read the "pillars" or interior walls as such, but rather as dark pits. Looking at the screenshots now I get it, but I had to many puzzles to think about when playing the game ;)
The background music is great, and the sound effects are nice. Again, if I'm trying to find something to critique I would say that the movement sound is a bit "harsh" perhaps. But that's again nitpicking, and I think it works fine as is. It's definitely better than no sound!
By the way, your description page is the best one I've seen this Ludum Dare. It shows a lot of care for the game and for your players. I'll be sure to take inspiration from it next time!
the art and mood are on point i love it
Art is great, and such fun puzzles!
@benjamin Thanks for the kind words. I noticed when testing out the game once it had a complete set of mechanics/rules that most of the puzzles could be cheesed. The one you got stuck on was one of my favorites, and I think there is one tricky bit to it that all possible solutions have in common. -- I actually made the larger runes first, I was making them blocky and didn't put much thought into it (even when making smaller versions). You are right that they read as upscaled though, and mess up the resolution consistency.
@vidarn Thank you so much for your detailed feedback, I wish I had more hearts to give your comment. -- I was not too happy with the walls/ceilings, I pushed making a graphic for them until the very end, the walls should definitely be much brighter.
What a fun puzzler! I included it in my Ludum Dare 53 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. https://youtu.be/Q3lvQ8g3OHA
This is a lot like Sokoban, but without the ability to backtrack, which adds a lot more thought-provoking elements to the puzzles. Each level has a sense of progression and it's really great!
Nice entry!

The "don't pass through a tile twice" puzzle is familiar (see Pokemon ice puzzles, etc.) but you definitely brought some freshness to it, especially with the ability to cross your own path and intersect corners! The other mechanics like pushing eggs and barriers you had to open also spiced things up.
I think my biggest quibble with the overall game direction is the way it handled navigation and backtracking. Usually with puzzle games, each room is self-contained and represents a unique problem the player has to solve. However, some of the levels in this game are impossible at first; then you have to come back the other direction to solve them. This is potentially frustrating for players since it makes the problem space much larger and adds some ambiguity over whether the puzzle is actually possible or not. (Side note: backtracking is pretty common in Metroidvanias and some RPGs --- but it's usually very obvious that an extra path or secret is not available the first time, whereas with a puzzle like this you might just be missing the solution).
The graphics are very clear and cohesive. I liked that all the switches and barriers had matching symbols and that the egg barriers showed how many eggs you were missing to get through. Some animations (like bubbling lava) would have brought thins to the next level - but also Compo games are very tight for time so it's understandable to scope this out.
I added your long snake to the pixel fan art compilation on [my profile.](https://ldjam.com/users/jeremy-ryan/)

Thanks for making this, and good luck during the rest of play and rate!
Very cool, really love like the concept. It'd be cool if the snake continued at a regular pace while a button was down perhaps, and maybe some simple levels first to grasp what each mechanic does ( like the door/trigger things , and the eggs )
