Any chance of a Mac or Web build? I would love to give the game a try, but only have a Mac at my disposal

Any chance of a Mac or Web build? I would love to give the game a try, but only have a Mac at my disposal
Hard to make anything of it. I created a few fake news, dropped them on some people, but nothing ever changed? The idea is a good one though! And the music is also a nice fit!
A bit more explanation is needed here. Also, when you drag the profiles below the bar you can't drag them up again ;)
@tolmera I tried to publish a web, but it didn't work well. Later I will try to export to a Mac. Sry...
@endurion did you try to create a story that matches at least 1 keyword and bias of the profile? :) The idea is to use what people already believes and change only a bit :D...
I think I managed to make some people believe in aliens ^^ 2020-10-05 09_24_57-Window.png
I like the idea but I had trouble understanding just what I was doing. I first tried to match beliefs that the people had, and I assume that meant those ideas spread wider (lots of people flashed blue). I assume the beliefs at the top right were ones I was trying to spread? I didn't exactly understand how to do that. The mechanic is probably sound, but it needs more feedback to the player so it's easier to see what happens when you drop your fake news.
@vinzbad Well done :D you put them on feedback loops :D everyone now believes on aliens or aliens itself :D
Interesting idea. (btw the game crashes if you don't throw the news at the person :smirk:)
@pekuja it is true. To be honest this LD is my first one and my first plan was to go for the JAM. I know the game needs much more :). For now you only a random objective on the top left. The idea was to have scenarios. I was thinking about having 2 resources: money and time. In my mind: writing stories takes time and they have strength. If you have more and better writers, the story gets more strength and you need money to get more writers. The stories can be reused but every time you use them, the strength gets lower. This version is the MVP :D
I liked the concept ! Although even by following the instructions (and managing to light nearly the whole network blue) it seems I couldn't make the opinions change much.
@evileptic :O found the bug :O I think it was a last change before submit that didn't test :O. Going to add a new version without it :S new version: https://rgilpt.itch.io/inyourfaceabookafterld47
@geegaz did you try to give a story with at least one similar keyword and bias (positive, neutral, negative)? The idea is to change their opinions "slowly" :)
One question? How do you give Karma feedback? :S
@rgilpt you get feedback karma when someone "likes" your comment on their game
Thank you @vinzbad here some Karma :D
The concept is really interesting, however the game was too hard for me. I had trouble understanding which keywords are similar, recognizing what some of the images represent and what makes someone share my news.
Did a test with 1 beta tester :D and I have a big flaw. No one comprehends my game :(, need to do better next time :(.
Going to add in next version :S but here are some instructions:
1. The objective is on the top left
first.png
2. These are some successful profiles
second.png
3. To change the profile beliefs, you should create a convincing story. In this case I am selecting the guns keywords and give a negative bias to match 1 of the believes. The more the matches the higher is the score for the story for a particular profile
third.png
4. Let's see the result
forth.png
5. Let's try the same story
fifth.png
SUCCESS!!
Tip 1. The story is stronger if it comes from a friend (connection) Tip 2. You could match 2 of the keywords and send an inverse bias for the one that you want to change
The objective is "educate" all the people with less fake stories :) you can see how many stories left of the button Create News.
Took me a while to get the hang of it, and the game crashes when you drop your news in the wrong spot. However a big plus for all the little symbols and their relevance in our world :) Gj!
@m8rix I already solved that bug you can download a version here: https://rgilpt.itch.io/inyourfaceabookafterld47
Thank you for the feedback!
It seems interesting, but I don't really understand what I'm doing exactly
@123seven3 I need to improve the instructions next time :)
The idea is really cool. But the explanation for the game should be made not in the comments, but in the description.
the game looks fine and the music is nice but its very confusing, i had no clue what to do and the description didnt help anything, but the idea is quite amazing actualy
would like so much a linux or web build
@leggy I did one build with linux and solved a silly bug you have here: https://rgilpt.itch.io/inyourfaceabookafterld47
@skvader-418 this was my first LD :) and this was a UX failure :D
I have some extra instructions here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/inyourfaceabook/inyourfaceabook-instructions-lacking-in-the-main-game
But the idea is to have scenarios and with simple scenarios I wanted to teach how to play the game... :S rookie failures :)
Really great idea. It's fun to spread information around the network and watch people's opinions change. As others have mentioned, it's pretty confusing right now. I think the game could explain itself better and maybe some more data about the people and how they're connected would be helpful. The game also crashed 3 times on me, not sure why. I think you have a great idea here, you should stick with it!
@Wrimo "crashes 3 times" that was a silly bug :) solved here: https://rgilpt.itch.io/inyourfaceabookafterld47
As I said to @skvader-418, I will try to make scenarios as simple tutorials. 20 profiles and a lot of keywords is too much for a starter player :). Thank you very much for the feedback :)
I managed to get people believing what I wanted them to believe pretty quickly, which is a depressing and poignant utilisation of game mechanics. Really fun and interesting game, with a very simple concept that plays out with (I assume) quite a lot of complicated thought underneath. Very good job.
@judgezedd thank you for the feedback :) Underneath it has a belief simulator invented for this :D it might need some science help (social engineering people) to improve the algorithm :)
Neat game. UI is a bit rough, and I had consistent crashes when dropping news stories away from people. I think it just needs better tutorial and ui to work.
Nice work and good job of try to create something different.
What an interesting concept. I don't think I've ever seen a game quite like this one before. I thought a lot of the symbols were pretty funny (avocados + aliens haha). All in all I think this game would benefit from a short tutorial I do appreciate you leaving a detailed comment here with some more explanation but I think seeing the game on a small scale with 3-4 profiles at first may make it easier for the player to understand what is going on before throwing them into the big thing. However, I get that this is a game jam but I think with a little more work on the tutorial aspect you could have something really amazing here. Good job!
I honestly tried it but I had not idea what the heck was going on. Spent about 15 minutes... read the beginning twice. I felt incompetent.
@mrhthepie thank you for the feedback :) It was my first time I tried to Ludum Dare and went for Compo. I was really tired when I finished the logic of the game :) and only figure it out that the game needs progression tutorial :D. By itself it is very complex game. The bug it is solved here by the way: https://rgilpt.itch.io/inyourfaceabookafterld47
Thank you :)
@itskdog thank you :)
@sop-the-turtle thank you :). I already understood that :D I need scenarios to give the player the feel of the progression. When I finish the profile model I was very tired and had 1 more hour to finish the Compo. It was a mistake :D Thank you :)
This is a very unique kind of game, I have not seen anything like it. I really enjoyed playing it though it took some time to understand (the tutorial you put on this page helped a lot). Gotta say that the spooky music fit the theme of fake news. Oh and I think one of these profiles is illuminati confirmed
inyourfaceabook.JPG
Great job!
@cursedsoldier it's true :) the game needs a tutorial :D was too tired to do that in the compo :D in my defense it was my first LD :) thank you very much for the feedback :)
Crashes for me as soon as I press the start button so I can't rate this one (I'm running the exe sandboxed but it works on most other games).
@lakrits I created a new version (after compo) if you have time can you try that version? Thank you in advanced!
@RGilPT Tried it but still crashes, I think there's something about GoDot that my sandbox software doesn't like. Have tried another GoDot game and it did start but I couldn't get audio to play.
I think the concept is cool but i found the game quite confusing. And sadly it crashed after making my second fake news.
thanks @helekopeter, I did a version to solve a bug, here: https://rgilpt.itch.io/inyourfaceabookafterld47 that solves a bug :S try that one :) thank you for the feedback :)
Original idea, I see for the first time, i like it!
Thank you @Curly :)
It's cool visually to move the account and see all the lines move with it, but I think there are too many of them and it makes it a bit too confusing: I would say the same for the number of news. I think with less of them the game would have been more focused.
Also, a label over the objectives would have helped understand what they are, even if it is written in the menu page.
Last time I had to make them believe both "Dollar True" and "Dollar False" LOL
Music is nice!
It's a really nice game ! Very good job ;)
I'm not sure what I'm missing. It seems that I create fake news and choose who to give it to, and sometimes it gets shared, and sometimes it changes people's opinions, but I rarely figured out if it did change an opinion. Perhaps it would help if there was particle effects or a border around opinions that recently were changed. I just couldn't understand if I was making progress or not. The idea is kind of cool, and relevant especially nowadays. It kind of reminds me of the game Jones, which was a game about getting an education and a job, but it was just a very mundane simulator, kind of like this, but it got a lot of fun out of simple things. This seemed like a game with a lot of potential if the mechanics were a bit more refined. Keep working on it please :) Thank you for the game.
Very innovative idea once you get the hang of it! It has been said plenty above but having a clearer explanation of the overall game idea and also clearer communication about what your actions do in game would help a lot. Overall really cool
@eugenik Thank you for the feedback :)
@toccio94 Thank you for the feedback :) I did a version post combo with some helping references :) To be honest I didn't check if there is contradictions :D :D :D I am going to add to my list of todos...
@ubershmekel Really thank you for the detailed feedback. I am improving the animations while the news are spreading through the network. Changing animations is a great idea (when you are successful on changing their beliefs) and I might use your suggestions. I have a lot of UX and UI problems and I am going to improve a win condition - almost non existent for now - and that way I can make scenarios starting with less profiles... Again thank you for the feedback :)
@layne-stokes Thank you :) I am going to make some scenarios and the first ones are going to work as a tutorial. I know that lacks because after the submission, I tested with a beta tester and it was a huge failure :D Thank you :)
Interesting concept here! It was easier to grasp after reading the comments. I think it would be good to add the screenshot guide you made to the description to make it easier to find. Some of the symbols were pretty ambiguous but fortunately that doesn't really affect gameplay. I did keep wanting to zoom out since my screen felt crowded. Overall I think it would be a neat game if polished up.
@spacey3d really thank you for your feedback :) I tried not to include political stuff, religious and gender stuff. I wasn't successful :D but I might change the symbols (I call it keywords). The zoom I am going to add. Haven't tested the limits of the game, but with 100 profiles it might be impossible to play without zoom :X Now I am working on the Model itself (how to change or not the beliefs of the profiles). Well there is a lot of things that I need to add :S... but thank you very much :)
