Hope you enjoy!

oxrock 2017-12-04 15:33

Prompts tell me to talk to the driver to start but I don't see him anywhere. I see a car by the gate but I can't get to it.

phillserrazina 2017-12-04 15:44

I really enjoyed this one! Good animations and I liked how the graveyard was built! Kinda disappointed that there wasn't a shovel as a weapon, I mean it's the gravedigger! That would've been a nice touch! Overall, very good, I like horde games, and I definitely enjoyed getting that ticket to the Bahamas. A multiplayer in this game would be real fun too! Has potential, good job!

simone 2017-12-04 15:47

@Oxrock: when you approach the gate your mouse arrow get visible and you should be able to click on the "chat with the driver" button. Since your visual move with the mouse, I make the camera trying to face the gate when you're near... I know it's not the best solution, but it kind of work :)

simone 2017-12-04 15:49

@PhillSerrazina I know, the shovel would be the best and it was on my "to do" list, together with a decent ending scene, but time is tyrant!

kezhaar 2017-12-04 15:50

My game has the same name ^^ https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/the-gravedigger-1 Good overall experience, it is quite ambitious.

Wow I got to go to the Bahamas wohoooooo!!!

Ok wow am I actually really surprised by this game. When the tutorial came up, there were many writing errors and I thought "oh boy, that's gonna be a bad game". But wow the game proved me wrong. While I didn't try out the shotgun I think the shooting felt quite good and I had fun killing those undead! The variation with big zombies was also good.

But what I really liked was the round-to-round approach where you have to select a mission every day and then you can play another round. Made it feel like some kind of zombie mode (it kinda is huh?:D) Also very interstingly we both have the same idea for the theme implementation where after more time passes more enemies will come. Cool!

Some things I think you could improve on: Having to use the mouse to select between night and the dealer was kind of a struggle. It would have been nice to have a menu popup when you press a certain key near the gate I think. Also my mouse keeps going out of the fullscreen window, don't know if this is your bug or unity but it was also annoying.

Other than that great game, I really liked it! If you don't mind please check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game

fun game, played it through to the end and I'd have kept playing it if it had more maps and more buy options, really like the idea of forgoing the wave slog often seen by making the waves simply an obstacle between you and an objective

if I had one complaint I'd say its not entirely obvious when your able to click the buttons, its a pain and almost seems buggy when you go towards the gate, but good job I enjoyed it through and through ;)

andreadbx 2017-12-04 17:24

Nice one, i would just reconsider the whole interaction with the driver, anyway fun and simple game, Bravi Ragazzi :)

hawksandwich 2017-12-04 18:40

It's nice to control and is fun, but it's really really confusing. Instead of having to free your mouse to press a button, maybe you should have a little "press E" thing come up when you're close enough or something.

simone 2017-12-04 19:01

@hawksandwich yup, it was probably a better option, but I didn't thought about it back then and I feel a bit about cheating by changing it now ;)

gris 2017-12-05 13:56

Amazing graphics with all that modelling and particle effects. It really creates a mood. It wasn't entirely obvious to me that the signs were clickable at first. Great game. Congrats!

kristoverek 2017-12-05 15:35

Great and what's more important fun game, but interaction with those signs could've benn done better. Also you could've given the player option to control camera on x-axis as well.

gulyasarni66 2017-12-05 17:02

I really liked the artstyle! Simplistic, yet beautiful! The music was okay, it sounded really cool with the footsteps :P I could only finish night 1 though, as my cursor locked permanently. The controls should've been a bit better with the mouse, but besides that, it's a really cool game!

papacheech 2017-12-05 22:22

Nice! I loved the look, but felt like the controls could use some work. Nice job! Good use of theme!

thepelranthean 2017-12-06 02:52

This was a fun game from start to finish. Well done.

I really enjoyed the choice of adding more zombies for more cash. The nights weren't too challenging for me since the mouse controls worked well; but towards the end there was definitely some intense running and shooting going on.

Obviously, the UI could use some work; as others have mentioned how interacting with the driver can be difficult. And from a design perspective, it would have been cool to have a themed UI.

But otherwise, very well done. You kept it simple but preserved both the theme and a good game.

epicsoft 2017-12-06 09:39

I really liked the game since I incresed "big corpse" for the first time. Particle system really fits graphics and UI is as simple as awsome. Well done!

mattcane 2017-12-06 18:43

This is so much fun! I want to kill more zombies xD

pablo-abraham 2017-12-06 19:16

Look, I thought it was cool!

kunonooni 2017-12-07 02:25

Congrats on submitting a game for your second LD! This was a well done game, it needs a bit more polishing and a better way to converse with the driver/face the night but overall it was really enjoyable to play. Oh I too had the issue with the mouse going outside the full screen area.I also have to say I really, really enjoyed taking out those zombies! I saved all of my money for the ticket so I only used the initial weapon the whole game but it was still fun to blast those zombies.

ursagames 2017-12-08 05:26

That was an enjoyable game! It's got a lot of the right stuff to fit that prepare and then survive loop. There's definitely some improvements that could be made, but for your second jam this is an outstanding entry! Very moody and felt like a full game.

awesomerex 2017-12-13 01:59

Fun game. I dug the music switching between day and night the mood was on point. I made it to the bahamas and tried out all the weapons, they were satisfying. I did have a bit of trouble with the control scheme. The mouse only being visible when you were very close to the gate with the driver took me a while to figure out. I was thinking about the mouse control and you might want to consider disabling the look for mouse when you have to interact with the menus. Just a thought. Again fun game.

darefus 2017-12-13 02:44

Interesting amount of complexity to the game: including differing weapons, optional difficulty routes, non-combat method of completing tasks. Also I enjoyed that the game actually escalates to an ending. I purchased the uzi first though, which wouldn't work until I purchased the pistol shotgun. I didn't like that the gameplay of avoiding zombies and waiting for them to move. It makes the combat exploitable to the point that the increased zombies really doesn't impact gameplay. Also, mouse moving out of game when using two monitors kept minimizing my window. That and the fucking mouse interface for interacting with the trader/mission guy. p neat fun lil game doe

raven 2017-12-13 19:45

The basic idea and gameplay for this game is ok, but I think it needs more rethinking and balancing. For me I just found this game not challenging because you can spam the guns (making the shotgun too overpowered). Also the zombies are all the same, in fact, they can never touch you for their snail-like moving speed lol. Maybe add in more zombie mutations is a way to make the game more challenging.

Overall very good work!

subztep 2017-12-13 21:31

I'm in the Bahamas! :D It's fun game music aced it with hilarious sounds. :)))) In the end when dozens of zombies were coming it really got me.

ambi 2017-12-18 10:23

Nice audio. More than just BFXR. Looks like a fun game. The mouse seems just very broken. Can't seem to click on any of the drivers options. Once I figured out the mouse the game itself was pretty fun. It's an actual 3D TPS! Nice! :D

The altars have nice UI where you can see the bar in the game world itself.

Our team does a weekly indie gamedev podcast called Nice Games Club, and we just did a Let's Play episode where we played thirty-six (!!) Ludum Dare 40 games, including yours (which we couldn't figure out but liked anyway)!
