Wow this was very innovative and fun to play! Good job!

Really interesting! Makes you time your shots very well to prevent you from getting stuck inside your own mass! Never would've thought of the 360 mode, nice one there! Good game overall!

The music was a bit repetitive, didn't like how mass would spawn on top of you and trap you and I'm not really sure how this fits into the idea of 'the more *you* have'. But I liked the idea and had some fun.

Took me a long while to find the virus! Maybe spawn the player somewhere in the vicinity? Or have an indicator.

Matter creation/destruction is _very_ satisfying, but it might be more effective if I didn't keep getting stuck in my 'own' matter...

The concept is very unique, and I can see something that looks very much like fun from here: I think you're on to something!

Good idea! I liked the concept, the controls felt floaty, but responsive and the goal was clearly designed. However, the virus kept popping up where I had cleared it away already and that kind of felt unfair. The different attack mechanisms were really cool though :D

@syrapt0r the virus will continue to spread as longs as its active, it will deactivate and stop it's growth when it has to place to go. I had planned to make the active spots light green ish, but didnt have the time, anyways thank you for trying out my game!

@remco indeed, an indicator would be a good idea, the "stuck in own matter" kept bugging me too, something i might have changed if I'd figured out a quick fix.

Thanks for the praise :)

Some time ago I programmed Convays game of life myself and it was fun. But this is even better. I like the idea of first isolating it, which is actually work and then getting rewarded with destroying it. That felt so good. "stuck in own matter", yeah I felt that too, but only tapping the mouse worked fine. To sum it up: Great entry :)

I always liked Game of Life and I think you did a great job of combining the GoL with some playable elements while also keeping the theme. I needed 306seconds to win and found it pretty cool that there were different stages to the virus. (keeps growing until isolated then your eradicate it).

Good job!

Very challenging game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsp8m-rrtCY

@jupiter-hadley thank you for trying out my game Jupi:)

It's very very difficult to understand the game at first and that you start so far of the virus doesn't help it. The idea is very interesting and it could be a good game with some work. Maybe something that help to find the virus, or a tutorial level with a little virus spreading slowly. The simple graphics works well but the sound could use more work. An interesting aproach, good work.

I love cellular automata! This was really fun, just a neat thing to mess around with - very well done!

One thing I was a little confused by was that before I had quarantined the virus it kept popping up in places where I had already eliminated all traces of it...what are the rules there? I guess the game would be a bit easy if you could just spray and pray the virus to extinction :)

Nice game you have here. SUPER WELL DONE!

Come check out my game if you like! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/virus-detected

It took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do. But once done, it has been an enjoyable experience.

While playing I was imagining that block pixels were parts of the virus' host. With this in mind, the process of containing the virus and then destroying it, felt really messy...

prodigalson 2017-12-25 01:31

I think I had more fun just painting the town white ;) Especially once I switched to the 'spray' option. Surprisingly relaxing, just going around and ignoring the virus destroying the black stuff...lol :D
