Simple yet addictive game. I ended up playing it for too long. Great job!

3D version of Road Fighter!

Model is cool, wish more items and systems can be updated in the future

Wow, simple mechanic that are polished and complete. Great job, the graphics are awesome...very clean game. Fits the theme well!

Good Job I loved the music and the graphics. I missed an evolution of difficulty.

Nice job. Fun and like the style and colors. I wished it would speed up the longer you go and have the controls react quicker.

Nice game. I wonder how you managed as to always being a safe route, never being fully blocked. I saw some very cool patterns in the other cars. Nice! I, too, missed an evolution of difficulty, wish it would get progressively faster.

Really like the graphics and sound design. Was expecting a full car control at first and was a bit confused because couldnt move the car with A and D keys just the arrows. But overall a really nice game

I love to see 3d games in compo. very good graphics and 3d models. Could be better if there was a little turn on the car during changing lanes. Sometimes AI did not allow me to go. They were going in a line.

I really enjoyed the music! This is how you win the Audio category (bonus points for actually going out and recording things).

The low-poly 3D graphics are cool too. One thing I would have probably done is turn up the roughness setting a lot on the material for the mud (or just on the default material, if you only have that one). That should remove the ugly glare from the skylight. It's just a nitpick though, it still looks great as-is, especially with the nice models!

Looks cool!

Retro graphics and even more retro gameplay, fits the theme. Well done

First of all, thanks for making the lanes very 'discrete' and not floaty. It makes the game much more enjoyable and almost like a rhythm game, rather than a frantically demanding twitch game. I could see what lane I needed to be in up ahead, and plan my moves. It makes me feel good when I can execute a plan and stay in the race.

Secondly, the graphics and audio are great. They don't blow your socks off or anything, but they are very cohesive and clear.

Overall, the game is pretty simple, but it's just executed really well. Nice job!

Bit hard for me , but i like your artworks

syafire 2020-10-07 03:04

The game is fun and the movement feels solid. It fits the theme really well because its a never ending loop, but I can't help but feel a little bit overwhelmed by the repetitiveness. I understand and appreciate that it's by design, but I think having different car models and slight changes to the level as the game progresses (such as sky changing color or something lke that) would have elevated the game a bit.

Oh, wow... metal + driving in the mud is definitely the way to my heart!

Great job on the music, especially the evolution of the drums through the sections and the various turnarounds, really kept my head banging without making me bored.

Overall look was very nice too, with some solid models, nice crisp clear track lanes, and an overall nice palette of colors. Title screen with that text bouncing to the music got me all ready to go!

The gameplay itself was solid, but it wasn't exactly the METAL I was hoping for... it was kind of a pacifist mosh pit, with everyone politely staying in their lanes, and the no-touching rules very strictly enforced. When I'm driving in the mud to metal, what I really want is to slip and slide just over the edge on the wrong side of control, roughing up the walls, the other drivers, and myself. This game was not that game, and that's completely fine of course!

I did still enjoy some of the really narrow calls in the lane-switching -- I appreciated the tension of how tight some of gaps were. I eventually needed some more variety to the gameplay, but for a compo this was still nice scope.

And I'm still listening to the music in the background as I write this review and STILL haven't gotten bored of it!

Edit: still letting this song run... if you dig this sort of music, I can recommend checking out the game Jupiter Hell, I'm getting vibes of that soundtrack from your tune.

Loved the soundtrack. Nice game overall, though I felt like the difficulty curve is a bit random (is there any at all?) Several times I encountered a situation where the crash was inevitable be cause all the lanes were occupied. But it's still a great result for Compo Hi-score 1120

Cool explosion effect with unique model, although the gameplay seem a bit too repetitive. Perhaps you can have different obstacles included in the future. Nevertheless great work.

thales-guimaraes 2020-10-12 21:36

This is great for a game made in only 72 h! As a composer myself, great effects and sounds :)

Cheers!

arad-hamidsamiee 2020-10-17 21:24

910 is my highest score, nice soundtrack, I'd like to see other cars drive with different speeds. good job

doot 2020-10-18 17:48

Nice one!

The game looks great, the controls feel very responsive and the music and sounds fit very well. I love the explosion 💥

Gameplay wise, it is a bit boring though. Does the speed increase with time? It didn't feel like anything changed, so it became a bit repetitive too quickly. I'm sure that with just little tweaks to increase the difficulty over time this would be a very cool game!

Thanks for the game, incredible work for a compo 💕
