LD33 — You are the Monster

Monster Truck Logistics by PTSnoop 2015-09-03T05:52:00

Man this is difficult. I like the minimalist style. Small peeve of mine: the controls for steering backwards are inconsistent with the controls for steering forwards. Weird bug (?): on level 2 when I pushed the red trailer into the building too hard, i'm nothing sure if the thing exploded or the rigidbody freaked out or something.

Ghostmen by 1176Studios 2015-09-03T05:44:00

not the most original idea in the world (this was the main mechanic in PacMan Versus IIRC), but this was pretty aight. good job on pacman's AI (small gripe: his sprite doesn't always face the direction he's moving).

Mega Maria by PEBKAC 2015-08-24T03:27:00

Audio's a bit much.

Swamp Man by Mr-Hide 2015-08-29T23:19:00

Awesome effort :D Could've benefited with a piece of GUI telling me how much ammo I have.

Hunter Spade by AsixJin 2015-09-02T05:44:00

This was cute. First Sci-Fi turn-based RPG i've seen in this LD. I like the idea of the "monster" being an anarchist. Some visual/sound effects would have been appreciated. Even just like a sprite blinking when it took damage would have sufficed.

Over the edge by alfie275 2015-08-28T04:41:00

i AM a monster D:

There's a wolf in my town by pegno304 2015-09-01T04:13:00

Hmm, never though i'd see games want to mimic the Ys/Hydlide style of combat. The main concept is cool and would benefit from some more context and of course polish and whatnot. But given the time you put in, still quite a good effort.

A Forgetful Day by aGoodPointPoorlyMade 2015-09-01T04:07:00

My couple playsessions were a bit buggy, but the mood of this game is pretty quaint and the art for everything (save for the player) feels grounded and clean.

I am Malware by Finn 2015-09-02T05:37:00

The tutorial text went by a bit quick, so I missed the bit on how to become a worm a few times :P. A Paper Mario: TTYD-style text system would fix that (i'm surprised more games don't use it). I REALLY dig the mood the music gives. Another little nitpik I have is that when a dude notices you coming out of a pipe, even if you go back in immediately you'll still get dinged (!) for it, which feels kinda unfair especially since you don't always know where the pipe leads.
That aside, the game has a pretty cool premise (albeit not terribly original) and efforts were made to give this thing some context, so hat's off to ya'll for that.

Betty the Yeti by grywhttl 2015-09-01T04:25:00

(Ver. played: original) Awesome job! Game looks clean, yeti looks solid. MAYBE coulda benefit from even some very simple sounds, tho sound is never a priority on these things. Needs more figure-skating-based attacks. Or threats, like a giant looming zamboni or something.

You are the Monster by duncankeller 2015-08-29T01:28:00

Nice enemy designs. SFX r quaint. Great effort :)

Don't Get Caught! by astrophics 2015-09-05T19:10:00

I'm surprised you didn't want to be judged in Sound because of all the games I've played so far you've done the best job in that category. They all feel right and do a great job of sending giving the player feedback. The core gameplay loop is effective and great job with the checkpoint scaling! (though once I started pickpocketing ~$100 from people off the street I was beginning to question the effectiveness of the game's abstraction). Overall, this was well-done and I really enjoyed it :)

Monster-Guider by Hegback 2015-09-02T05:25:00

Character movement sometimes froze for me in some weird context. Tends to imply that the movement logic isn't implemented in a terribly robust manner. The enemy death sprite is cute tho :3

Streets Of Blob by DifferentName 2015-08-24T03:16:00

Fun stuff, tho the hitboxes felt ambiguous at times. Bare bones but great effort.

Dario vs Bewzer by Njinwezen 2015-08-29T23:12:00

Nice take on a classic scenario :) And good use of screenshake

Imp by bbqbaron 2015-09-03T05:37:00

Neat idea. Yeah that embedding issue is a bit annoying. There's something here; if I could somehow feel the frustration of the heroes then it'd feel more rewarding.

Derpzilla by FrozenCow 2015-09-01T04:31:00

This was really cute ^_^. Kinda wish the breath attack had a sound effect (I can think of one noise note in famitracker that would do a good job). The flower at the end was a nice touch. I also appreciate that the tanks actually presented some level of annoyance, rather than being a complete pushover.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Rise Of Corruption by Wevel 2017-12-04T22:51:45Z

The tool-selection state is a bit-glitchy sometimes; it took me a while to figure out why i couldn't clear more tiles despite having a pickaxe selected. It also took me a bit to figure out that the trees where clearable tiles :P Overall, a VERY impressive effort given the time contraints.

Crunch Time by gelisam 2017-12-05T04:11:52Z

Took me a while to figure this out, but this was a really neat puzzle game! "On second thought, weekends are for work" really got me tho lmao.

Snowmans Dilemma by JCMonkey 2017-12-04T22:13:04Z

I like how the snowman's art changes as it loses health, tho contextually i'm a bit confused as to who but a bunch of heat-panel labyrinths into the side of a ski-slope. qt game :3

Intelligent Fireball Cleanup Detail by smilewood 2017-12-05T01:52:32Z

Could've used either a radar or indicator oh where the enemies were on screen. sometimes i'd get hit from behind and didn't see them coming. Good use of particles, and good job on map layout + getting that pathfinding to chase me up those ramps!

Embol by azlen 2017-12-04T20:00:47Z

This was a cool fun take on the theme. The harpsichord track plus the doodley graphics set a nice awkward mood. I'd love to see how far this concept could go, both in terms of narrative/content + potential new dialogue bubble mechanics.

I'm Over Encumbered! by masamunedragon 2017-12-05T02:41:04Z

The sword arc is a bit (very) tiny, and the character feels pretty chunky and slow even with an empty inventory, but this is a neat, derpy little game. It took me a while to figure out that the 3rd circle on his back was a backpack and not like a bacterium/microbe :P

Ditchin by irwatts 2017-12-05T02:18:48Z

The camera work is pulled a bit too far back for my liking, and the framerate is a slideshow when the cops r onscreen, but this was a pretty neat take on the theme! ( '3')

Chemistree by DorienvD 2017-12-05T03:25:16Z

Cute art 'n' characters! Unfortunately, the game glitched out for me a bit and it looked like my character became offset from the gameboard eventually. eventually i was in the river, rubbing against an invisible wall. Perhaps the character wanted to get that fish back for Sakura but was forever stuck in the river...

Halls of Knowledge by ursagames 2017-12-05T01:33:27Z

I love the UI design and animations. Also: > $40 for a standard meal.

This must be some bougie-ass University. My heroes must've all been rich weirdos D: This is a good foundation tho! A small narrative could convince me to "simulate college" all over again :P

Presents by gilborn 2017-12-04T21:09:26Z

Just in time for the holidays! :D I the sound of getting hit by a present is nice and "thunkey" :P Also i'm not sure how i pulled it off, but on my second playthrough my player character fell over with no game-over indicator. I couldn't move, but i could still open presents :P presents.png

Power Surge by Mettra 2017-12-05T04:58:51Z

Art's cute, sound's great, but the chargeup was a bit more than i could take :P Fortunately i soon realized that you don't completely lose your charge when you release the button, I still died on the last wave. GG

The Floor is Lava by BinarySpark 2017-12-04T22:20:20Z

Fun! Game feel and feedback on this is very solid. A bit frame-y in the web browser, and I kind which there was a better indicator for what was up-ahead (er, down below), but overall a well-put together game and entry :)

Clutter Bug by Abilean 2017-12-05T03:05:11Z

Congrats on your first game jam entry! A pretty good take on the theme, though the framerate dips a bit in the later levels where there's SO MUCH stuff lying around, though guess that goes hand-in-hand with the theme nicely as well :P Audio's not half-bad either~

Perfect Limbo by sirJupitron 2017-12-05T03:50:56Z

New music 'n' sounds. The art style is simple, but effective and charming. The limbo game mode is a bit frustrating when at top speed tho; not enough lateral acceleration to really react to the purple thing coming up from below; if i do hit one, its out of luck :P

Surviving Christmas by JohnnyO 2017-12-04T23:32:38Z

The game may benefit from having a narrower bucket-space to wait for filling-up-and-ascending. I'm also not entirely sure where killer mossy-stones come up in your seasonal holidays, but having debris that kills you was a fun little touch to the game once i reached them :)

Dorm Doom by Cataractar 2017-12-05T03:39:30Z

An audio indicator for when something is on fire would be nice. My laundry basket also glitched out and at one point there was 3 of them sitting on the ground when i tried just placing a full one down. Now if only the poor player had 3x more ppl to help him do the chores :P The dorm layout is pretty neat tho ( '3') feels more like a swanky little suite. I get 60 Seconds vibes, but without the nuclear war/family.

Cholesterol by MadreDeDios 2017-12-04T23:08:19Z

This poor child died at the age of 15. I love how elegantly the theme was implemented here, gj :)

Reversed Negativity by RNGSilvercraft 2017-12-05T04:31:43Z

Its QBRET, except the floor is sometimes lava! Neat idea, and it was pretty fun to play too, though I do wish there was something i could do during the dark phases of gameplay. having to wait it out is a bit of a drag. Great job on the music/audio btw ^_^

I'm tired of all your stuff by oliverlevay 2017-12-04T20:10:01Z

What a fun strange little experience. The flavor dialogue for the shoes was pretty clever. The sound on the garbage truck was also excellent, through a quick-reply button would've been nice. The nipples on my character are mildly upsetting. Overall great game :)

Greedy Balloon by maoap 2017-12-04T21:00:25Z

The mountains and birds looked lovely, but i wish the burner noise was less grate-y. I'm also a tad weirded-out by how much momentum this hot-air balloon gets :P

Pineapple Madness by Isaac Lang 2017-12-05T02:27:43Z

The jumping mechanics are a bit stickier than i was expecting. it took me forever to make that jump towards the 3rd pineapple :P Also, thank you for binding a reset button~

Suburb Jogging Simulator by timon 2017-12-05T02:08:06Z

This suburb has alot of giant potholes. Hight score: 7750. Cool innovative take on the theme! My cheesy strat for this was to make all 4 of the jump every time i saw a potential hole in the ground :P

Super Power Omega OP Force Sigma: Lasers of Lightning (SPOOFSLOL) by happygreenfrog 2017-12-04T23:00:18Z

Nice title intro :P A quaint little SHMUP, thoo I'm not entirely certain where the theme comes in... too many bullets on-screen?

Stealy by Grentacular 2017-12-05T03:15:05Z

This was pretty neat! The level layouts were cool, and stealing the piece of art by the 4 rotating lasers was fun an satisfying~

Infected Pong by PhillSerrazina 2017-12-04T19:49:33Z

This take on the idea ended up with a pretty neat gameplay loop ( '3'), though there'd be times where I thought I had clicked the "X" button on a pop-up, but it wouldn't close. I wonder if that might just be Unity'd button/UI system sometimes acting up.

CoinCase (Ludum Dare 40) by Billeclipse 2017-12-05T04:43:27Z

The game could've benefited with a more interesting sense of progression than just a number going up, but congrats on ur first ludum dare submission! :)

The Next Floor by Activdesign 2017-12-04T20:40:06Z

It seems that when I fail a level, some of the audio tracks from the previous level persist (multiple bass hits/the additional tracks that come on as the get further), making it a bit tricky to progress.

Power UP ? by Tresmollo 2017-12-04T21:53:34Z

I kinda wish I had a better sense of what the power-ups i took did to me; the only reason i understood that i was taking more damage with each power-up received was because of the description. The game would benefit with having even just damage/healing number for ez feedback. I love sci-fi the atmosphere/mood/aesthetic tho, feels "retro-y" <3

Friendzy by MosesG 2017-12-04T23:47:22Z

This was pretty cool! A clean, clever take on the theme. I think it'd be extra fun with numpad support :)

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Doki Doki no Artichokie by Jezzamon 2018-12-05T05:52:18Z

@jharler what happens when you try running the game on low?

Doki Doki no Artichokie by Jezzamon 2018-12-10T03:24:22Z

Game has now been rebuilt with Unity 2017.2. All runs on my Windows machine has proven to be stable so far :sweat_drops:

Elwik Mage Academy by mrjoshuamclean 2018-12-05T06:50:49Z

a quaint fun little thing. I might give it another go to check out the other endings :3

Melon Squad by Balduvian Dead 2018-12-10T04:04:45Z

Awesome tunes! This game could definitely benefit from have a detonate-early button, instead of having to wait for the fuse to run out.

Robot Altar by BoopsGames 2018-12-06T04:29:55Z

It had a bit of learning curve and felt pretty sluggish, but overall a pretty neat puzzler ('3')

Diminution by hexbit-jack 2018-12-10T04:12:25Z

This was pretty short, but also pretty neat!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Hell's Closing Bell by mrthee 2019-05-02T00:08:20Z

@michaelsonbritt yeah, that's all I had time for really :P this was a nice "world-building" experience in my eyes.
