Really cool game! Only the music is too loud later, but gameplay is awesome. Maybe It's a bit too hard, but I had fun :)

Nice neon graphics! The game was a bit glitchy once you killed an enemy though

elemel 2017-12-04 21:37

The game was really hard. Felt that I couldn't do much to avoid getting shot. Music was good and contributed a lot to the atmosphere.

I kinda wish I had a better sense of what the power-ups i took did to me; the only reason i understood that i was taking more damage with each power-up received was because of the description. The game would benefit with having even just damage/healing number for ez feedback. I love sci-fi the atmosphere/mood/aesthetic tho, feels "retro-y" <3

Nice visuals! The music was good! But the lack of feedback on damage to any entity made it hard to tell what's going on.

I love the neon style

Nise graphich, and sound, but, maybe too hard.

@synthphonia thank you! yes, the music was a last minute addition, I didn't let it play long enough ingame, did not realized it was that loud

@wujood yes, I had trouble with my first implementation of the AI, I tried to rework it half way through but... ^^'

@elemel I didn't took enought time for the balancing, the player "should" get hit so he want to heal with the power-ups but yeah, the enemy spawn rate is a bit too high

@mrthee I agree, the games mechanics are not clear enough, I'll take that into account for next time :)

Movement felt really good! There was a bug with the web version, where the arrow keys for shooting also scrolled the page up and down still, but it kinda added a cool meta layer to the game where I had to balance shooting up and down evenly or risk not seeing the game any more, so I'm not complaining too much!

Game looks good, but I think it's too hard.

This game has a interesting take on controls. Twin stick shooters typically used WASD and Mouse, but you only allow the player to attack in 8 directions. That aside, interesting concept, i did feel that the camera was too close based on the enemies' bullet speeds. Also, I'm not too sure what the fire power multi did.

Great job!

Very nice game you have here! I like the graphics and the sounds are good. Great concept. Goodluck!

The idea is simple and that is okay. Both the graphics and the music is good. The game is really hard, and the enemies is a bit stupid, but that is okay for a first game. Overall a fun little LD game.

Love the art style and the music/sounds. The backdrop on the screen looks wonderful.

The only feedback I have (you already mentioned enemy AI) is that you should also support mouse direction for shooting. The arrow keys definitely give it a unique (maybe arbitrary) challenge.

Overall this is a good submission!

The music is fun and the controls worked better than I expect (whenever I see twin-stick I always think of a controller with analog buttons and it makes me wonder how digital buttons would translate). Graphics are nice to look at. It looks like the game was setup to be more like an endless shooter type of deal, which is fine, but I did not see enough changes in my weapon or what was happening around me to see it work for more than a minute.

Perhaps creating waves and altering the layout of the game play after each waves would allow it to stay fresh for longer sessions. :D

The view seemed a bit small since enemies can fire from offscreen. My strategy was to move around the outside of the map and shoot roughly towards the center of the map. It seemed to work reasonably well but I was eventually killed from nearly full health in a single hit because I had taken a lot of the powerups.

The game could use some more visual effects (trails and explosions)
