v-ad 2017-12-05 14:42

Nice game.

scriptorum 2017-12-05 16:33

Man, that last level is hard! I could not crack it. This is a fun game. Great audio.

twinghosts 2017-12-05 16:54

@kingswind Thanks a lot! Glad that you loved it :)

@v-ad Thank you!

@scriptorum Haha I know right! Had some trouble balancing the game due to time constraints, but awesome that you liked it :D

rature 2017-12-05 23:01

nice game !

kerr 2017-12-05 23:09

Pretty fun clicker feel to it. The bad effects were hard to notice until the storm-type ones. Stopped at the level vs the AI where you both get a large planet and two small ones, pretty fun! The concept reminds me of ender's game.

jimbly 2017-12-06 04:08

Interesting! Reminds me a lot of an old game PAX Solaris. Difficulty is spot-on! I had to play most levels 1-3 times to beat them, which is perfect =). Ran into one bug where sometimes ships would just orbit an enemy planet that claimed to have 1 enemy there, but no one would die, and they'd just stay there. A few levels (not sure how many... the one where I start with like 500 ships on one planet) in this happened and the framerate plummeted until the game hung, as hundreds of ships kept attacking one planet (mine in this case) which wouldn't die.

antti-tiihonen 2017-12-06 08:17

The levels had a great puzzle-like feel to them. The mechanics were simple but the levels required a surprisingly diverse set of tactics to overcome. The tutorial levels could have been condensed a bit so that players get to play against AI more quickly. Great game!

importantcreations 2017-12-06 08:48

Great Game!

twinghosts 2017-12-06 09:39

@kerr thank you! I feel you. The debuff effects are certainly subtle, maybe a bit too subtle at times. Thank you for the feedback!

@jimbly Awesome to hear that you found it interesting! Thanks for taking the time to write this thorough comment, I really appreciate it. Sorry for that bug and the framerate drops, had no time during the LD jam to fix them anymore :slight_frown:

@antti-tiihonen thank you so much, also for the feedback! Really appreciate it and you are totally right about the tutorial :grinning:

@importantcreations thanks!

samuli 2017-12-06 10:23

A bit too much waiting around for my taste, speed up button would be nice. Later stages got more hecktic and were more fun.

tim-eriksen 2017-12-06 11:48

Nice game! Well polished and fairly clear and understandable UI :) It would perhaps be better if the boxed letters in the left corner were more illustrative icons, but that's just nitpicking. Well done!

twinghosts 2017-12-06 12:01

@samuli Thank you, I appreciate the feedback and I totally agree with you, better level/tutorial design or a speed up button would've been way better! :)

@tim-eriksen Thanks a lot, it's nice to hear that it was fairly clear. In the first build I had icons to illustrate what each debuff did, but the debuffs changed a lot during the 48 hours and it was too painful to keep updating the icons with illustrations :(. But you are totally right and I really want to push that idea through when I continue with this project!

zantze 2017-12-06 13:01

This game has been probably the most solid experience so far in this LD.

The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay feels solid and original, and the sounds are well put together and fitting.

Good job d:

phillserrazina 2017-12-06 13:01

Plays well, looks good, it's fun for puzzle-lovers. Great game!

twinghosts 2017-12-06 14:26

@zantze thank you so much, that means a lot to me :)! Thanks for taking the time to play and review it!

@phillserrazina Awesome, thank you! Im glad that you found it a great game :D

savepoint 2017-12-06 16:42

Excellent Work! I would've played all the way through but mac right-clicks and center-clicks never work on this shibs. I need a mouse so I'll just have to do that. Good story bro. Anyway this got a full 5 rating from me. Excellent balance and strategy-puzzle work, very impressive especially for a 72hr jam. Congrats!

twinghosts 2017-12-06 16:55

@savepoint holy moly thanks for the kind words, unfortunate that the clicks dont work too well :( Glad that you still liked it nontheless! Tt was the 48hr one :P, but thanks for playing and the lovely words!

crock 2017-12-06 17:31

Nice project :)

cyberpunks 2017-12-06 20:08

This has got to be one of the best strategy I have played on LD! I found your game yesterday, played it and later realized 1 hour passed with me still playing it. Played a little today to. Very engaging and challenging! Excellent Job!

twinghosts 2017-12-06 20:37

@crock thanks man!

@cyberpunks Woah thats awesome! Thank you very much for the compliment and Im glad that the game entertained you for as long as it did :grinning:

honest-dan 2017-12-07 13:16

I really liked this game! not sure if it's cause I've not played many strategy games, but it felt super interesting and original, and I enjoyed playing through it on stream. Has some good decision making, nice controls. The downside is that the debuffs are a bit subtle, and feel I had to hover over them in the top left to understand them - but doing so would waste time that could cost me the level. Good work on the game!

twinghosts 2017-12-07 19:45

@honest-dan Thanks Dan. I really like your enthousiasm on stream, glad you enjoyed it :) and thanks for the feedback, I will work on making the debuffs more visual without hindering the gameplay!

krassenstein 2017-12-09 14:29

I thought this game was pretty neat! The only thing I noticed when I was playing was that I didn't care much for the debuffs/buffs on the top left because i just kept spam clicking all of my planets and throwing them at the objectives.

It would have been nice to see the buff/debuff appear on the empty part of the screen and then fade out. Other than that, I found this game pretty fun and i hope you continue to work on it!

Great job!

the-triumvirate 2017-12-09 23:47

This game is just incredible, it's one of the few games that actually challenge you. I think only the name of the game is a bit too long and complex. I just love it.

twinghosts 2017-12-10 17:17

@krassenstein Thanks man! Yeah I feel you :) I had more debuffs but those really screwed the balance up even more haha so I tried to keep it subtle. Maybe a bit too much. Thank you for the feedback! I like the idea of the fading debuff :grinning:

@the-triumvirate Woo thanks a lot, it means a lot to me :D! Haha yeah good point there, it's always a pain to come up with a name :)

the-triumvirate 2017-12-10 17:27

@twinghosts Regarding the game's name you should probably update your first screenshot... :joy:

twinghosts 2017-12-10 20:46

@the-triumvirate HAHA what I only just noticed that :joy: thanks man!

deathray 2017-12-12 02:34

Very fun game. It's very much like a few games I've played in the past, which I enjoyed. The connection with the theme was a great idea, but unfortunately I didn't appreciate it too much -- the combat is so fast-paced that I never had time to even check the penalties I was accruing with each planet. In order for those penalties to be more meaningful, the player would need some time to strategize. The fast-paced gameplay was fun though. Only bug seemed to be in the last level I got to -- ships seemed to get stuck in the center of planets.

@deathray Thank you for the great feedback! I've noted all of it down in my post-mortum :)
