masterfully simple!

This is kind of a cool idea. That being said, maybe I'm doing something wrong but only the first character can be moved. So if i have 2 characters 'q' moves the first one, but 'w' doesn't do anything. i tried to spam out a bunch of characters and test other letters too but still only the first guy moved. So yeah, that kind of defeats the purpose of the game i guess. That being said, very cool interpretation of the theme!

I like the idea, but I wish there was a little more to it. Could be a great phone game/time killer.

I also hit a bug where if I cloned on the far right, I couldn't move the original character anymore. I wish that if you hit the side of a pillar it just stopped you instead of killing you.

@georgebgreen Thanks for the feedback! I checked the game and everything is working for me. The thing is, the order of clones matters e.g. 'q' controls the first one, if you clone 'w' will control the second one. If the second one dies and you clone again 'e' will contol the new one and 'w' won't work.

I got to 29. It's tricky to figure out which knight goes with each letter. Spamming clones can keep you going for a while, but isn't worth any points. :) I found two clones to work well, aligning them with each other. I like the look of the game. Too bad you couldn't get some audio in! Good job.

it isn't easy??? oO It's hard as f***! but good enough! thx for game

A simple concept but well executed. I would have liked an icon to briefly show up to the left/right of the clones to tell me which controls it's using (hard to keep track of - but maybe that is the point). An animation for when a piece gets crushed would be nice.

Love this game. Simple but can't stop playing :D Nice work.

Very hard for me, couldn't focus on any figure, but that's also due to my lack of skill in such games. Would have been nice, if you had added some sound effects. But all in all a great idea for the LD40 theme :3

Nice work. Got 20 points. Sound would add more atmosphere!

I like the idea of clones as a way of having additional lives but making those extra lives a resource that you actively choose to spend in a mechanically relevant way. Fun!

My complains: the controls seem clunky and I feel like they are not intuitive, I couldn't figure them up, even after I read the instructions. Other than that great concept, and I really like the artwork and the spin off of the theme. I also went on the same multiplication route with my game.

zyrconium 2017-12-06 17:15

38 points, staying still at either side of the screen works pretty effectively. It's a nice idea that might works a little better with slower pacing which might make it easier to add some variety of obstacles without overwhelming the player.

glock00 2017-12-06 17:18

Nice entry! Hard as f*** but very enjoyable! Try to simplify the controls or add a tutorial because it's hard to get.

lunardust 2017-12-06 17:23

the mechanic and control is so special. it's pretty cool. but the control is too hard for me. i expect that you add some sound effects!

bartol44 2017-12-06 17:25

Very clever idea and apporach to the theme. The game isn't really hard - what make this game hard are unintuitive controls and the lack of feedback. Unless that's point of the game, you should display which clone is which, or even draw letters on them so you could easily distinguish between them. Also, pillars collider are somehow irritating, as you die upon touching them, not getting smashed by them. Beside that, fun simple game.

The game was fun, I found myself playing it for a while. Well done!

Most of the complexity of the game came from the controls itself. Maybe either displaying the control keys on the characters or colour coding them would have made things more clear.

I liked the simply graphics style as well.
