You labelled your game as Sourcecode, but it looks like it is your Windows Download. Might be why it has not been rated yet?

I tried your game out but I am not sure what I am supposed to be doing? I was able to move the little Godot icon around, and the lines whirl around and follow it. This is a cool effect!

Cheers! [-LB](https://ldjam.com/users/the-lame-brain/)

Well... I believe I understand the initial idea of the game, but the manual (or the code) is not so clear to play it. I failed to get how to actually control these things... Sorry :)

leokrechmer 2021-10-13 13:23

Okay, Update :) There are two tipes of zomes, red and green. Green is friendly, Red is the enemy. You win the wave by eliminationg the enemy site, and have survivors ar your side. You do it by moving the butterflies. Blue one, attrackt the wind, and the red ones do the opposite. So just move red ones to your friendly zones, and move blue one to the enemy. Thats how you play this game :)

ladymistleaf 2021-10-13 14:34

The game is a neat concept, I like how you use butterflies to influence the wind, certain ones to aggravate the wind, others to dispel. The butterflies, when selected, I think need a more showy color so we can tell at a quick glance which one is selected (or a bright pulse animation). Otherwise, it was a fun little "Beat your own high score" style game! Great job!

Really unique and interesting take on the theme. Good job with the game.

Score: 39 Wave: 9

This was really, really fun! I loved the concept, and it was cool! Was slightly confusing at first but then I got a hang of it!

solah 2021-10-14 16:01

Wow, very interesting game! Would be great to see a more balanced and polished version! Your idea is very original, well done!

piper-thompson 2021-10-14 16:36

What an innovative idea, and well implemented! With some polishing this could be a super fun and rewarding game. Maybe add some sounds, make the regions less square and have them represent these percentages in a form other than text, cycling throug butterflies is a bit annoying, have that be hotkeys, and BAM this game is a HIT. loved it

orangutanrider 2021-10-14 21:35

I was a bit confused, to how my butterflies guide the wind. Overall, this is a cool and unique idea.

Maybe, rubegoldberg inspired, puzzle elements could be an interesting direction to take this.

shakedimus 2021-10-14 21:47

Hey @orangutanrider did you read the "How to play"? If so I should make it more clear in there. So the blue butterfly attracts the wind and the red ones repel it. So if you leave the blue butterfly in the middle for example you will see a lot of wind go there. If on the other hand you place a red one somewhere, for example in an allied zone, you see the wind going away. Does that make it more clear? :)

orangutanrider 2021-10-14 21:57

@shakedimus yeah, thanks.

varundevs 2021-10-16 04:32

In short words the game is not unstable but more like chaotic for me

aidan-and-seb 2021-10-17 16:12

Really interesting concept! A little laggy in my browser, but nonetheless certainly a unique idea!

Well programmed physics, I'm not sure how you managed to program high and low-pressure butterflies, but I'm impressed :)

Gameplay took me a few minutes to understand as there's no tutorial - but that's understandable given the time constraints.

Graphics are relatively simplistic too, would've been nice to see countries represented as actual country shapes rather than squares - but I can't be too picky!

Kudos for a unique and interesting concept :)

shea-kelly 2021-10-17 18:26

I like how chaotic it is and how fasted pace it is

arron-fowler 2021-10-17 18:58

I will start my stream about 9pm Uk time. Hope to see you there. https://www.twitch.tv/thesoulselector

teto 2021-10-19 21:03

I really like this concept although I would agree that it may be a little more chaotic than unstable. Took me a second to figure out even after reading the how to play but the pro tip really helped! I love being able to see all the wind flying about so you can physically see the effects of your butterfly placement which is very cool.

Personally, I found it a little annoying having to scroll through my various butterflies to select the one I wanted then found moving them around to be sooo slow especially with how quickly territories can be destroyed. For me, I think I would have preferred mouse control where you can click and drag. Maybe still have them move at a set, slightly slower speed (bit OP if you can just insta move them with your mouse haha) but that would have made it a little more user friendly in my opinion.

Overall, really cool concept that I imagine has some very interesting code behind it (I'm not a programmer so probably can't really appreciate it) and nice visual feedback. Congrats on a great game!

shakedimus 2021-10-20 07:01

Hey @Teto thanks for the feedback1 I appreciate the concrete tips :) Did you maybe forget to rate? I am getting around to playing all the commenters games btw so expect some feedback from me too soon :)

alvan-arulandu 2021-10-20 12:38

I'm so happy that someone built something about the butterfly effect. This was one of the top ideas in my brainstorming list. I would increase the control that the player has; at the moment, it's a bit hard to predict the effect of flapping each butterfly at some location — but maybe this was the intention.

samuel-fine 2021-10-20 14:23

omg get outta here with your swarm mechanics in a jam game!

Too cool. Took a minute to wrap my head around the gameplay but once I figured it out, I enjoyed it. Like playing Risk with bugs!

kakapoy 2021-10-20 14:40

Really good concept ! quite a unite take on the theme but a welcome one. Hope you will work on it after the jam.

erikengineengineer 2021-10-20 14:45

I'm not sure how to rate this game. This is a nice take on the unstable theme, but maybe you have to refine the gameplay aspect. It is really complicated and I died really fast. But very interesting idea!

shakedimus 2021-10-20 21:03

Hey @erikengineengineer , thanks for the feedback. I think my mistake is mainly not having a good tutorial where you can try it out for some time. Also because of the randomness, you can be very unlucky and die quickly. Because the game itself looks harder to play than it is when you get the time to get the hang of it. I added a playthrough to my description, maybe that helps :)

jd-isaac 2021-10-21 03:01

I got to wave 10 with 42 points. It took me a minute to understand what was going on, but it's a really neat idea and my mind's kinda blown with the mechanics. Nice work

splitpainter 2021-10-21 16:50

Very puzzling and innovative in terms of the theme. It would be fun to read a postmortem from you on how you came up with the concept.

hawkin 2021-10-26 21:56

Found your game after the rating period. I thought it was cool that we got inspiration from the same phrase!

Cheers.
