LD46 — Keep it alive

Trap-o-mancy by karreg 2020-04-21T15:26:49Z

i enjoy the concept and the graphics, however the game is pretty confusing. the instructions of the effects written on each card dont make much sense, and despite being able to change the order of the cards i still felt like it was all up to chance. despite this i still enjoyed going through the first few visitors and soaking up the nice atmosphere youve created.

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-21T13:54:59Z

This game was pretty enjoyable, the main mechanic was simple but able to be used in interesting ways. You could definitely expand this idea for a full release— nice and polished, good job.

Fire Ant by NemoGG 2020-04-21T15:01:01Z

this game is beautiful and an enjoyable experience throughout. the visuals are charming and the game and puzzles, while short and easy, are fun and charming. my only real gripe is the use of the spacebar for swinging your stick as opposed to z or something. id love to see more of this world and this game, nice work.

Hacking is Probably Not Like This by sayumeki 2020-04-21T13:59:57Z

I like this concept, but was a bit disappointed when it appeared that the main gameplay loop was just solving age-old puzzles through a terminal visual. Perhaps that isn’t the case for the whole game, and I still enjoyed what I played nonetheless.

Kaoamaru Kaiju by SplitPainter 2020-04-23T01:37:22Z

this is awesome. there isnt really any gameplay though which really disappointed me. the graphics are awesome, im a sucker for the ps1 look. the story is intriguing and the creature's design is cool. i would be really excited to see more from this game, perhaps with a bit more interactivity.

Abandoned Archive by Vedal 2020-04-21T15:34:35Z

the game looks amazing for a jam game, though was tough to control without a mouse. the labyrinth felt empty most of the time, more enemies could fix that. the text was really small and hard to read on my screen, and i wasnt super interested in sitting for a few minutes to read all of the orb's dialogue at the start. good polish and fairly enjoyable experience, good work.

Arrhythmia by Bodaciouslycrazy 2020-04-24T15:27:30Z

i like the core mechanic here, its very unique. the bottles were sort of confusing and overall i was a bit stuck. the graphics and atmosphere are well crafted. good work.

LAMPCHASERS by MachMarten 2020-04-23T01:21:27Z

@michael-horst thanks for leaving this detailed review! your feedback is much appreciated and being talked over by the team. I’m glad you like the concept, audio, and graphics! we worked hard creating a nice atmosphere for the player. we figured that kazoose’s shop would be tricky for new players to find, and this confirms our suspicion. thanks for reporting the bug you encountered of losing your items, we’ll have to look into that. I’m sorry that the experience wasn’t quite what you wanted, but the feedback we are receiving from you and others helps us to work to improve the game in future updates/releases. Thanks for the thoughts Michael!

The man who watches the time pass by TPZombie 2020-04-21T15:48:58Z

sad but intriguing story and impressive atmosphere. the gameplay was repetitive but i suppose that makes sense from the story standpoint. the music and simple yet clean graphics were a nice touch. there were a few spelling errors, and the old man saying "Ugh" didnt quite evoke the thought of pain to me, rather just him being annoyed. i really enjoyed playing, good job on this.

Mother Bird + Flamethrower! by InefficientChunkOfCode 2020-04-21T19:32:48Z

not bad! the graphics are really cute and the controls are pretty intuitive. if it were not a game jam game id criticize the main gameplay loop being perhaps too simple, with the only real actions ever happening being burning the closest foxes or grabbing fuel. aside from one bug where i clipped through the floor and fell into the void the game is nice and polished.

pestilentia by ATTX 2020-04-24T15:24:16Z

neat idea and decent execution, the game was simple but fun (once i figured out what i was supposed to do) the graphics are serviceable and overall the game is pretty good. nice work!

Symbio by x_minus 2020-04-21T15:14:57Z

i was intrigued by the title and menu, but found the game not fully playable. the game has some performance issues which (on my laptop) rendered the game unplayable at 3-5 fps on average. i could not seemingly interact with the game. its an interesting idea id like to see fixed up with improved performance optimization and clearer gameplay.

Kaze No Kami by ssh.randy 2020-04-21T19:22:52Z

very interesting concept, though to be honest i found it more like a "digital toy" or simulation as apposed to a game, but i had fun playing with it nonetheless. id like to see this idea taken further with more diverse terrain and more tile variety while keeping the simple but intuitive controls. nice job!

Perhaps a Friend? by Local Minimum 2021-10-11T04:19:55Z

this game is absolutely ridiculous and i love it. its kinda tough to maneuver but it was hilarious trying out random combinations and flopping around. nice work haha

YuraYura! - Tidying up the tilting tower! by Cornflowerblue 2021-10-09T02:32:05Z

I'm astounded that something of this level of polish and fun was able to be created during the jam. The visuals are very pretty and the gameplay is tight. If this was on steam as is I'd hardly think anything of it. massive props to the team.

Lena & Tubs in: The Shattered Chateau by Matt Fabius 2021-10-11T04:32:18Z

the art is simply ADORABLE. i especially love how the ghost emotes when in the dark. obviously its very short, but id love to see this expanded on in a post-jam release! lovely entry.

Ruff Tuff Skies by fiaKaiera 2021-10-09T02:25:14Z

the best word to describe this game is simply "fun". its an all around enjoyable experience (though my fingers may beg to differ...). went to 1500m

Nightstruck by Flomino 2021-10-09T07:42:13Z

@samuel-hollywood-summers thank you for playing! do you remember which NPC triggered that bug? That’s a pretty major issue so I’ll go and fix it if possible.

SHORT FUSE by ToxicHouse 2021-10-09T02:36:01Z

It's short, but its enjoyable enough. My only real complaint is that the shape of the rock sprite made it a little hard to tell where you could and couldnt pass through on a level or two.

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-09T02:43:08Z

Extremely well made, a bit too hard for me to invest much time into but it deserves recognition nonetheless.

AFTER SUN by rufson 2021-10-09T02:50:18Z

this game is positively oozing with style. ...i may or may not be responsible for the deaths of hundreds. oops.

Destructo by JPGFG 2021-10-11T04:38:48Z

a very solid entry! it was a pretty cool moment when the ground first fell away, thats when i realized the complexity this could have over others in the genre. its surprisingly complete for a jam game too. i look forward to any post-jam updates or releases!

A Hard Pill to Swallow by osh.studio 2021-10-11T01:07:35Z

very solid entry! pleasant graphics and fun gameplay, complete with an animated intro- nice work!

Infiniraft by LDJQ 2021-10-11T04:17:47Z

its a nice little game! won in 2.35 the graphics are simple but effective. my only criticism is that the platforms could be a bit smoother coming down. it also might have made the game more challenging if they started coming faster and faster as it progressed. but overall its an enjoyable entry-- very cool!
