Hi, Yan and everyone at Studio Cherno! I followed the development of this game during the livestream and I'm so happy to see it done and finally play it! Best regards from Brazil and keep the amazing work on Hazel up!
Just two notes regarding the game: - In the main menu, if you open the controls and then press enter, the controls disappear. - I found it a bit annoying to press Enter to close the text boxes, since my hand was already moving the mouse and I had to move them to the Enter position. Maybe just make it close with Left mouse button as well? :)
It's running fine on a GTX 960. But I noticed some flickering sometimes. Not sure why.
Overall, great entry! And it's using Hazel!

Hi guys, I followed multiple of your streams during development, great game! Fun to play and very impressive that you managed to complete the game in time despite having to work with a few engine crashes :). The only issues I found were - Controls Text disappearing, I think when opening multiple times - Flickering (Yan said he was aware at the end of the stream) Otherwise the game ran without stuttering and I had no issues running it, great job and thanks for providing so much educational content!

Sadly doesn't run, W11+integrated graphics, 7735HS, HAZEL.log ends with a partial log "[12:03:43] [info] HAZEL: [Physic", seems to bug out on 19th physics body every time.

I like the game it's good I would give a 10/10 but Tim said no sprinting so 0/10

Really enjoy your content on YouTube, watched a few minutes of your stream here and there. It's really amazing how far Hazel progressed in the past years! Sadly my computer (i3 8100, gtx 1050 2gb) can't run this on an enjoyable frame rate so I'm hoping for the release of the launcher with graphics settings :D When I closed the game I've got a nasty memory access error. "The memory could not be written" with scary memory addresses :D
Cool game
@shroush Glad you like the game! The controls text vanishing has been fixed and will be included in the next patch. And yeah Yan does experience the flickering as well so hopefully it'll be fixed in the next patch as well. /Peter
@unidaystudio thanks for playing the game! The controls text disappearing will be fixed in the next patch, as for having to press Enter to close the tutorial I'll see if we can make it close on Left Click as well :) /Peter
Cool terrain generation and enemy design!
Loved getting to watch you guys work on the game, had a blast playing. No issues to report on Win10.
Your livestreams was my company while I was making my game all alone. So I thank you for that.
I love the look and feel of the game. I'm a sucker for hex grids and the texture were nice, the design of the little guy is cute. I also liked the humor you add it. Sadly the gameplay was lacking for me, just going from point A to B is not the most thrilling thing to do. But props for completing the game on your own engine, those are truly bragging rights.

I had a great time playing this game! The graphics are amazing and the sound effects are incredible. The game ran smoothly without any issues. I particularly enjoyed the shooting mechanic, which made everything go slow-mo when zooming, and the ability to pick up enemy weapons when my initial weapon's ammo depleted. Although the gameplay idea was simple, I found it enjoyable. The fog, enemy design, and limited camera angle made the game look a little scary, which added to the unique atmosphere of the game.
However, I encountered a few issues and have a few suggestions: - Moving with the WASD keys felt strange, as I couldn't move diagonally and could only go forwards/backward or strafe. - The box in the initial tent with the "Ammo" label suggested that it could replenish ammo, but I couldn't figure out how to use it after multiple attempts. - It would be great if there was a trace of enemy shots to indicate whether they hit or not (I assumed they always hit). - I found it difficult to see dropped weapons, and a slight highlight could improve visibility.

I liked the design of the enemies.
At some point my gun stopped working and I couldn't figure out how to deliver the coffee until I alt-tabbed and looked at the controls again.
It's a beautiful game, beside the mirror ice, and sounds plus atmosphere is great. Gameplay wise I find it hard to play, would be cool to pickup ammo instead of switching guns, movement with the apparently intended sidestep is weird and where is sprinting? Kappa The slow-mo is nice and shooting also feels good. Camera though is locked to a weird angle looking forward, but can go to an unnecessary top-down view. I like watching your youtube videos, hopefully Hazel is going places
Great job on the game! The graphics and sound effects are amazing, and the shooting mechanic is a lot of fun. Impressive work on the unique atmosphere of the game - the fog and limited camera angle really add to the experience. It's great to see the Hazel engine coming along nicely!
First time I played I spawned right next to the tent and tried shooting the gun some while in the tent until I ran out of bullets, then I jumped around a bit before I wondered why the compass couldn't make up it's mind about what was north, so I walked for a while towards the red arrow, but didn't find anything but a whole lot of enemies. And since I couldn't shoot them it got a bit funny with me launching them into space and them sending me flying every now and then.
I force quit (was there a nice exit?) and retried. This time the world looked completely different, so procedural generation was really diverse in outcome for a game-jam! This time there was no tent nearby and since I didn't find anything in the north/red direction of the compass the last time I walked some in the blue direction. I didn't find the tent though.
The graphics was really neat, though when surrounded by more then ten enemies it got rather bright. The controls worked well, tried both with controller and on keyboard. It was a bit hard knowing what to press on controller since the guides were for keyboard only.
An interesting bug using the controller in the menu pressing down and up sometimes I could press up several times in a row and it still had controls selected (or at least made the effect of it being selected).
Nice entry overall!
Interesting premise, but not much of a game in its current state. The goal of delivering a cup of coffee seems completely impossible because of the sheer amount of enemies thrown at you. The weapons having limited ammo and no mechanic to dodge bullets kills any chance of being able to complete the mission.
Also it wasn't clear how the compass was supposed to be read, so I just picked a color and followed it until I fell off the map.
I think you should spawn the character inside the coffee tent, I mean there really is no reason not to since there is no risk or reward before finding the tent. My first playthrough I didn't see the tent and just ran aimlessly around the world getting shot at by the enemies and found nothing of interest. My 2nd playthrough spawned me close to the tent and I picked up the gun and coffee, however I ran out of ammo and my coffee got obliterated before I was able to pick up another gun.
I like coffee, especially when it's hot. Nice idea, but has not been clear in which direction I should go.

Cute graphics! I wished the compass just showed one direction for clarity. The map design was cool!
I wandered around for a bit and then i stopped playing. I popped up the compass but i must've been going the wrong way. I loved the chaos of all the people shooting at me, but it was clear right away that they pose no threat.
The game looks really cool! Excited to see what you guys cook up next.
I wandered around a bit - met some enemies, etc. It's not a bad entry and using own engine is always impressive - despite the bugs (on Radeon Rx 6800 - see below):

As myself working on engines I absolutely understand this sort of struggle!
In the game, there were in my opinion too many enemies spawned and maybe adjusting ammo counts.
Keep up the good work!

Make a game in your own 3d engine as unity in c++, that's impressive, very good job, well done!
@zgragselus thanks for playing! Enemies will never respawn in chunks you've visited, so you can always take your time and clear the way. And yes, always some issues to iron out... does disabling screen-space reflections make the weird graphics go away? - Yan
@studiocherno I gave it a try with disabling SSR - and yes, disabling SSR fixes the problem on AMD gpus.
