It felt like I was really in prison
Good idea! Nice pixel art:) Really fits the theme.
Premise made me laugh out loud! I wish the game had some more mechanics though, it really is just train and fight.
Love the twist on the theme, and loved the extra interactions just as much :D
Honestly, I have a bit of a soft spot for games like this :P I like seeing numbers go up and I like seeing them go up efficiently even more. I was impressed by graphics and very clean execution of this, no bugs, nothing unintuitive, nothing clunky, you stuck to the relatively small scope and executed it well imo. What hurts this game is that while there is stuff to do, there is very little progression, completely alright for a game jam game to be short and sweet though. Only real criticism I have is that the atmosphere felt too bright for prison, especially the catchy music tune. I could definitely see this as a more fleshed out game, though, especially when you are like me and play Cookie Clicker to relax!
fun twist on the theme!
Great pixel art. The idea of having to try and stay in prison longer was really good and definitely spot on with the theme. Great LD entry :raised_hands:
Haha, that was funny. Unusual disclosure of the jam theme :D
Great art, love the innovative approach on the theme. The interactions were a nice touch, well done!
Fun little game! The graphics and music really fit together! You really turned the theme up it's head! I like your way of thinking (:
Great art, and great music! The idea is solid as well, and I think with some extra time and polish this could be a fun little piece. Thanks for sharing!
I stayed in prison for 62 days. I wonder what other people's scores were?
I'm definitely a fan of this sort of time management/simulation game. Because the fight has a little bit of RNG thrown in, there's a balance between strategy and randomness that gives it some nice variation. I laughed when the other commenter mentioned that the music was too cheery, they're definitely right  but the music was cute and good. Nice job
Quite the funny angle, I don't think I've ever played a game about staying MORE time in jail haha. At first I thought the dude in the second room was me, so it took me a couple days to realize it was another inmate.
Could have been fun to have more things to do or more opportunities for mischief apart from just fighting, like maybe vandalizing or trying to break out (and failing and thus getting an even longer sentence ). Even something like "situations" happening randomly and making the player make a choice about how to act could have been cool, but I get that more content takes more time.
I like the music and the UI (that song is catchy!). The art is decent too. My best was a little over 40 days. Good job!
I LOLed at the weird approach to the theme. If your strength gets high enough you should be able to punch through the wall!
Fun idea, nice graphics. Like other commenters, I missed more options, the actual gameplay is quite limited. *But* there's one more thing I like to praise when I see: the much you did here is quite well-polished: the game has a title screen, a game over screen, you can do stuff, and didn't see any bug... it's easy to let these details pass when evaluating a game.
So, my suggestion for for the next Ludum Dare: try to keep the good stuff, but be bolder with regards to gameplay.
38 days was my best score. That dude suddenly got really strong! Ouch!
One little issue I found was on the web version I played it seemed like every time I ended up on the title screen the music started over while the previous music kept playing. Nothing worrying, and as others said, great art and great fit for the theme, well done!
