Can I play it in the browser? The HTML5 (web) link leads to a page that contains only windows/mac/linux desktop builds download. Thank you in advance.

This was an absolute blast! It was so simple yet so much fun. The premise was not complicate but for some reason I just kept going. I could imagine playing something like this on my phone while waiting on a bus. Real fun experience thank you :)

Supert extra bonus point for the voice over tutorial. It sounded like a professional video game tutorial, absolutely loved it. Music was great too and the effects were spot on.

powerofsin 2023-10-02 21:31

Game in true spirit of the theme xD

Very polished and nice to play. It gets pretty challenging at times and I am currently stuck at level 15 but will hopefully figure it out soon.

The variety in the items is nice and it's very satisfying to pack it all in and see the truck go.

Music felt fitting, giving it a mood reminiscent of moving to a different flat.

adam-gould 2023-10-02 21:31

@quasilyte It's embedded here - I had issues getting the web version to run on Gamejolt so I took it off there but forgot to delete the link here!

adam-gould 2023-10-02 21:32

@iluvatar Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it!

pe7e 2023-10-02 21:32

Easy compared to packing for a vacation with two kids :) Nice intro, great fit with the theme, good amount of different things to pack. Perhaps it would have been easier to play with a mouse?

adam-gould 2023-10-02 21:33

@powerofsin Thanks very much! Level 15 is the last one so you're nearly at the end!

robbobin 2023-10-02 21:35

Really cute! Biggest complaint is that my dumb-soup-brained self didn't realise until after I'd stopped playing that you can reset the level by holding R. So I guess for the feeble minded players a really obvious reset hint could've helped (maybe if you're able to detect a level is unsolvable or the player's not placed something for a moment).

Interactions felt satisfying, basic idea was simple but well executed. I could definitely see the basic idea being expanded with more mechanics (rotation, items with special rules (e.g. fragile, no items on top, etc) and more novel scenes/visual storytelling with the items getting packed up.

adam-gould 2023-10-02 21:50

@pe7e I did consider adding mouse controls, but so much of the logic was put into checking "is this a valid position" during movement (due to the LD signature "I have no time so here's a bucket of bad coding practices") so I couldn't do that. Controller support could have been possible, however, if I had a little more time to get that done.

@robbobin There is a big hint that shows only if you've placed everything and haven't won - I could have tried to get some logic in to detect if you have no valid moves but I suspect that may have taken a lot more time than I had! There's also a reset button in the top middle, and the level 2 tutorial tells you about the reset (which is the first level it's possible to fail).

cheesepencil 2023-10-02 21:50

Would love it if the reset were instant! Very good game. I accept that level 15 stumped me and there are too many games to rate to spend another 20 minutes on it XD

Everything looks and feels good. Solid compo entry

adam-gould 2023-10-02 21:52

@cheesepencil The reason for the delay is that I can't imagine the frustration of someone getting really deep into one of the tricky puzzles and accidentally pressing R. I could probably have sped up the reset animation, though.

cheesepencil 2023-10-02 21:58

@adam-gould maybe an unlimited "undo" button instead of a restart? I could see myself mashing out my frustration on the undo button, have the pieces zip back out of the truck

but as-is it's quality work don't get me wrong.

quasilyte 2023-10-02 22:03

Whoa, I did not see that coming.

There are many little details I like about this game:

* The voiced tutorial * The fact that labels are random every time (their color) * The objects are also randomized in their graphics * The later levels require you to think; I stuck for a couple of minutes more than one time * The music is cool; I wouldn't even dream about creating a track like that during the LD

This is a very well made game.

One addition I thought about is that glass-like objects we have could be fragile, so you would have to place them above heavy stuff. Some objects can be considered to be light (can be placed on top of the fragile item) while other items are heavy (can't be placed above the fragile object).

owc 2023-10-02 22:52

I can’t say that the idea is original, but I was very pleased with the quality of execution. Hearing voice acting is a very pleasant surprise! Well done!

powerofsin 2023-10-03 05:40

@adam-gould coming back to the day after I realized that there is no saving or level select so... I am not going back to 15 again xD

phaix 2023-10-03 09:24

Great game! Love it!

tkap1 2023-10-03 09:36

Banger! Undo feature would be veeeeery nice

iluvatar 2023-10-03 09:55

@adam-gould - I would like to contact you personally and ask you a few questions if that's possible. Can you write me an email: brocekdavid@gmail.com

I will delete this comment later to avoid spamming your page :)

Brilliant game. This is just going to be a list of good things: simple, attractive pixelart; nice movement of items; simple sound effects; voiced tutorials; nice background music. Most importantly: FUN :)

surune 2023-10-03 10:46

Simple and Cool game. This fits the theme very well, and the overall level design is great. It would be nice if there was an undo button, but anyway, thanks for the good game!

2023-10-03 11:05

As a loader, I began to doubt my “professionalism”:D cool voice acting

afra-gerami 2023-10-03 11:14

Well polished and executed game. The idea is not so original, but it fits the theme, the graphics and sound is also good. Great job! :v:

paul-maxime 2023-10-03 12:46

Great game, it obviously perfectly fits the theme and I didn't expect that many levels!

The music is a little loud by default but at least we can change it to ~50% easily. :D

I thought the game would become repetitive after a while, but it doesn't thanks to the new shapes and new mechanisms.

It took me a while to understand we need to _hold_ R to restart, because my brain kinda skipped that word and was like "yeah I need to _press_ R to restart, understood".

mrperry 2023-10-03 13:32

A solid entry. Nice visuals, good background music and a fantastic tutorial voice guy.

One gripe I have is that I don't want to hold down the R button for a second to restart the level. If I get stuck in a level I want to retry as quickly as I can and just have the restart to be instant instead.

cyber-puffin 2023-10-03 14:53

Nice entry. I like the "Hold to Restart" as it prevents the accidental reset from hitting the wrong button.

The main thing I was missing was a rotate key. This might be deliberate for the challenge, but I really wish I could have rotated the 1x2 to fit the space in the top.

It might also be good to give a preview of the list items to be packed (beyond the few that are coming), as I kept getting stuck when the last few were a specific share or group.

jerem-watts 2023-10-04 12:28

well done adam

Great job, loved the game though I couldn't figure out level 15 (presumably the last?) for the life of me. I do wish you could just drag the items around with the mouse rather than the arrow keys and also wish that there was an undo button as it was annoying to have to restart the entire level just to adjust the last item or two you put in especially when you've already placed a dozen.
