Don't know if i didin't understand something but i get stuck with a black screen a the end of the tutorial (earthquake)
Not sure if it was supposed to end at the earthquake? The screen stayed black and I couldn't read the text. Tried jumping up and got pretty far but nothing happened.
I really liked the atmosphere of the menu! I wish the other part of the game had similar art too.
I find momentum really takes a game out of that script-kiddy feel, I suggest trying to add momentum next time.
I'm also getting the black screen. The tutorial was good though!
Clever use of darkness, platforming screwed me over a few times but I overall enjoyed it, nice job! Dame la guita Neverquaker.
@duskel If you mean when you go out through the window, you must go straight until you fall off the screen.
If you mean when the earthquake starts, notice that before entering the gold zone it shows that you can turn on the light by right-clicking the mouse. My fault if it is not seen clearly, I think I made it smaller than it should that drawing.
oh more replies, that's a surprise HAHA
@tykenn @jerem-watts I tag them too so they can see.
@adhemar Ah, thanks, I didn't realize the mouse was a flashlight. I went back and finished. Well done!
thank you @tykenn! this game was really a trip for me and my team, because we had the self-imposed challenge of debuting in godot with this jam and the result with its highs and lows was a lot of fun to do. thanks for playing!
the jump run too hard...
Very frustrating, but in a good way lol. You guys nailed the platforming, and I dig the ongoing narrative as you progress.
I liked the tutorial, the game mechanics, and the theme. The controls could use some work though: the sprint being bound to left mouse click hurt my soul. Great for a game jam though.
@tsunscreen thanks! I'm very glad that you liked it, comments like yours motivate me and my pals to continue making games :D
@nicolas-cancio thank you too. and yeah, I showed the game to my teacher and he told me the same thing. maybe putting it on the shift key would have been better? I'm not very familiar with keyboard gaming, I'm 99% joystick haha. I appreciate the feedback.
I like the controls they felt legless and responsive, it kind of bugged a little when hitting a ledge I would loose momentum, but that wasn't a persistent problem, and the plot twist at the end was great. good job
thanks @daniel-eduardo-martinez! About momentum, this is lost by touching a ledge only when you jump while running. Unfortunately we could not fix it, but luckily it was not a very serious problem and the situations where you have to run to jump are few.
Nice platforming game. This is a solid entry. Getting the jumps right in limited light is a nice feature.
@stalemeat thank u! I really liked how the dynamics turned out, I will probably repeat it in one of my future projects.
Reading these comments I'm laughing because people didn't pay attention and use the mechanic for light and thought they just got a black screen. Pretty solid platformer! I think the light mechanic is cool and is a good way to add a level of difficulty. I liked the song but it did feel pretty repetitive after a bit, but that's the only thing I didn't totally love. Great entry!
@kyrell HAHAHA, yeah luckily most did not end up believing that the game was unfinished or that they were softlocked. I was planning to transition it to make it more noticeable which was a feature of the game, but we started with Godot a week before the jam starts so we couldn't juggle much either. Thanks for playing!
Nice game! I liked so much of the instructions like graffiti on the walls.
@thyagodarth thank you! And I'm glad that you liked the graffiti, although if I had had more time I would have worked them more haha
