Yay! You did a new Game this LD as well. Your Feedback was so valueable last time. I will Play and rate Tomorrow (getting Late here…). Take care!

@meru Hello again! Very kind, I'm really glad it helped! I shall check out your guys' entry this time too! I normally like to make very second-to-second actiony games, but this was my challenge to myself not to do that
The mood and the atmosphere are really cool and the puzzles are nice too!
One of the only games here that I loved the gameplay, graphics, and atmosphere. I really like the vibe, and the mechanic of scaring away the creatures with the light is cool. I didn't finish it though, as a bug softlocked me where it was playing the creature trapped noise forever even though i had scared them away. The game is quite long for a game jam game so i didnt feel like going through the whole thing again. It's difficult to find where to go sometimes.
@beadyeyes Thank you very much for playing! Your comment made me realise I had uploaded the wrong build after fixing the soft lock, as that was occurring quite frequently. Apologies for that! I'm glad you enjoyed the vibe!
This was amazing, I don't normally play games like this, but it was really cool.
Love the moody atmosphere, and the voice recordings were actually pretty good! Just overall unique vibe and aesthetic to this game! Well done!
I will say, the game was quite laggy for me, and I had difficulty at first getting the interaction and lighting mechanic to work.
But overall, very unique take, good stuff!
quite an interesting and beautiful game
This game is a mood for sureee! Love the art and the lighting :D
Don't knock yourself up on the voice work, I would have never guessed they were done in one take haha. I love the atmosphere of the game and its puzzle mechanic with using the fireflies to light up the lanterns. Along with the hidden tutorial of introducing you to the enemies at the start. Although I did find it hard at times to find where I was supposed to go. Overall amazing job especially for a Jam game!
Amazing mood and quite a lot of nice mechanics in there... though I personally would love to have text on screen instead of just voiceover. At first I thought the game was bugged, but apparently I had volume down and could barely hear what was being said. Confused me for a while with input lock.
Quite insane to have this much done in so little time!
Oh, wow I love it! Great atmosphere and quite interesting mechanics. Graphics is really stunning (and lighting) and fits into overall atmosphere.
I think the mood, audio and setting are fantastic, though perhaps it might have been better if the voice over sequences were a bit shorter and spread out more, cause sometimes they felt somewhat long. Couldn't complete the game as I got softlocked by a bug, though I did enjoy the parts I manage to play! :)
Very nice atmosphere and I loved the voiceover. very good job Thanks
Thank you for the kind words @william-wells! Indeed I had about 15 minutes to squeeze in the entire narrative, and my acting ability was severely hampered by being exhausted, but I'm glad it fit well enough! I'm really glad you noticed the little hidden introduction! Thanks for playing!
@batisdark Thank you for playing! Absolutely you're right, I have a habit of making my games too loud, so I didn't want to risk that here, but I was really hoping to have time to add subtitles. Unfortunately accessibility sometimes gets left out when time constraints hit. I'm working on a post-jam version that just adds a few accesibility settings, controller support, and a better mix! Thank you for playing!
@kscerri Thank you for playing! Would you mind telling me what soft-locked you? I'm trying to nail down each possible soft-lock scenario. And you're right about the voiceover! As the classic saying goes, if I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter :) it's very clunky in places, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you to everyone else who played and commented!
This is my favourite ludum dare 56 game so far! Great mood. Great graphics. Great audio. I want more.
The game might need more hints at the beginning but I figure the mechanics out. Great stuff!
Totally love mood of this game. Super cool.
Awesome game. Excellent use of light!
I really enjoyed the controls also.
Great atmosphere and mechanics! Loved the firefly puzzle system, and the voice acting fit perfectly. Sometimes it was tricky to know where to go, but overall gj!
creepy, dark, but atmospheric, I got confused of course after I picked up the flashlight, but it was cool (after I picked up the flashlight I went back and not seeing much, partly on purpose, jumped off the stairs and fell behind the textures), but it was cool)
Fun beautiful looking game with cool light mechanics! well done
good
@pickens-inc I apologize, I was asked to leave feedback, but I didn't understand the concept and meaning of Ludum Dare. My friends, with whom I worked on the project, explained everything to me, and I realize I was wrong.
WOW! Absolutely awesome!! I'm so impressed by the visuals, audio, level design, everything! Add a little more to the story, a few more mechanics and you can publish it right away on Steam 😄 This was really fun to play, keep it up!
@pietmichal That's very flattering! Thank you for playing! I hope you find others that top it! @stuckne1 Glad you enjoyed, was super fun to make use of the lighting! Thank you for playing!
@nazariglez I appreciate that very much! Conveying direction was tricky but I'm glad you liked my VA!
@renier Thank you for playing!
@wouterk12 That's very kind of you! We'd have a long way to go but I'm very appreciative you thought so highly of it! Thank you for playing!
@buianovavaleria I find it very disappointing you think you can pass off an AI generated review on me, and yet not even do the courtesy of hiding that you just fed it the screenshot and description. That's just sad.
WAW!
This is so awesome! I really love it! This time you did some magic! How were you able to do this in such a Little time! Very nice!!! Like last time the Level of polish is over 9000!
This was a solid entry. Everything was top-notch, but I gotta give you the highest marks for how excellent the lighting is. It's super clean, but also very warm and softening, much like candlelight. Good job.
The audio and overall plot were also well-done. I'm curious how you did whatever the music was in the back -- it was implemented well.
Overall: great work. Make this into a full release; I'd pay money for it!
Wow! The game is so wonderful! Keep making games!
I love myself some narrative in LD games (shouldn't come as a surprise, given my jam history). I think you did a lot with a little, visually and there was an elegance in the soundscape that you should be proud of. Intentional or not, the chimes as you reupped on fireflies and lit lanterns fit perfectly with the ambience and music that was playing, as if to harmonize with it.
Great effort from both of you! I'm happy I got to play it!
@langotriel Thank you very much! That's very kind. Indeed this was one of the first proper attempts at some actual *proper* narrative in my LD entries, despite my extensive history, so I'm glad I managed something of any remote weight. The harmonising chimes were deliberate, all played in the same key, so I'm very pleased you noticed that. Thanks again!
Very languid game, great work!
