Interesting application of the theme.
nice work, the graphics are gorgeous and i love the themeing of the game, the panorama background looks so good. i like the character switching dynamic and the way it fits with the theme, i do find myself waiting around to change character quite frequently however, which interrupts the flow of the gameplay. great game though, i had fun playing it.
@dolicoded yeah to be honest I struggled alot trying to fix exactly what you said, having to wait to change really slows down the flow overall and was bothering me the whole time. Thanks for your words!
There's an interesting idea that could be explored further in this game, but I do think that having to wait around for the transformation to happen does get frustrating. I liked how the enemies doubled as puzzle elements, but I do wish there was some way to fight back against them or at least defend yourself from their attacks so you don't just feel helpless while they kill you. That being said, I enjoyed the atmosphere and pixel art.
Interesting idea though it could have been expanded upon. Some ideas to make the game better is... First I would maybe make a harder route that only the golem could take for any of the challenges so you don't just have to sit there waiting for the transformation. Second the climbing mechanic felt really slow so maybe either add some sort of wall hop or make the speed faster.
@werdnalt @j4cko16 Thanks for the reviews and suggestions! I'm glad you guys think it could be expanded upon, it was one of my goals so I'm glad to hear it came through. Especially like the idea of a little challenge for the golem to do while waiting, maybe some collectible.
Interesting take! I see that you've done some nice work in level designing. Could use some work in bug fixing but quite nice for a small team!
Nice ThumbNail and I could see the efforts on the level design! Good Job!
Nice idea and artwork! Like attention to details:).
I like the idea, climbing works well and that background art is so good! I think I would like to see some checkpoints and one way floors though as I feel like there is a bit of waiting and falling or dying does feel harsh having to back to the very beginning.
Other than that good job with this! The world being hostile towards your smaller character at night was a nice tough and again, that climbing felt great. It feels like a lot of effort went into that level design.
The artwork is fantastic! I really enjoyed the design of both characters.
I think the game was a bit too hard though. Consider adding checkpoints. I also mention it in the video, but this game is filled to the brim with **Blind Jumps**. There are lots of situations where the player has to move downwards with no indication of what's below. It could be a hazard, it could just be dirt, but the player isn't sure what the yare going to be landing on, or if there's some fireball spitting idol down there.
Speaking of the video, I recorded this to provide you a lot more feedback:

Love the art! And a really good take on the theme :)
I like the idea of this game, and having to switch between the two is a challenge. I found a wall on the end I got stuck on where you climb and when you switch back, you are on top of enemies without a way to escape without falling down back to the bottom again. I think your concept is great, and the level design just needs a few tweaks to be fleshed out a little more.
Although a simple idea, it is one of the better takes on the theme that I have seen. Well done!
I get the appeal of the mode switch. Unfortunately, for me, having to wait for the switch is a bit frustrating.
