IT'S HAPPENING
I'm so proud of us guys ❤️
I liked the art style more than I expected. The AZERTY keyboard layout tripped me up a bit, because I had to translate from QWERTY while mashing buttons. Solid entry.
Very sweet aesthetic. I was a bit unsure what's solid, climbable or walkable, I guess the art style makes it challenging to differentiate them. I found one dino, the buttons on screen did not seem to respond to the characters they displayed, which left me a bit confused, though I did manage to do it in the end. I was left wondering which other dinos am I missing? An album would be great to show how many others I'm supposed to find, and to not spoil who they are, just show their silhouette.
Oh cool hand drawn children's style! It took me a little while to get used to the controls being different labels and figure out how to take a picture of the dinosaurs, but it was very atmospheric to get around.
Thanks for the feedback, appreciated ! We kinda didn't think about WASD as we're ZQSD users, and the album is one of the many things that we didn't manage to put in the game in time but maybe one day it will be there ! The silhouette is a great idea ;)
Very unique hand-drawn style! But I didn't know when to jump up and when to simply move forward on such a map. I had to rely on the character's movements to make the judgment. And when I found the dinosaur, for some reason, only the "wasde" keys were functional when I was taking pictures, while the other keys didn't respond (maybe I misunderstood the way the game worked). It's a bit of a pity, but it's still a game with a great concept!
Thanks for the feedback! The game was supposed to be played with wasd (and the mini game too), it's just something we didn't get right, working with unity for the first time, with AZERTY layouts.
funny game and great art!!!
The sound design has real depth I loved it! And it's a great hand drawn style. Some same comments as others (bit hard to figure out what is walkable, and ofc the keyboard not translating). It was really nice, I got ooo when I hear the roar and find the dinosaur!
I am not the first to say it but the art is really something. It perfectly captures that childlike wonder. Paired with good music and sound, and the presentation of this is well done!
Really nice concept with the theme and the crayon like graphics. The visuals were a bit confusing on what is an actual walkable platform and what is just part of the background, but besides that good job.
I like this sketchy style!
Oh wow! Love the artstyle! Game is fun, and soooo cute. Love it!
The game has a really pretty hand drawn style and I love the music. Unfortunately the controls during the photo taking instances don't fully work for me.
Nice art, nice sound, a PokemonSnap with dinosaurs, what's not to like ? Well done
I love your take on the sketchy drawings and the simplified Pokemon battles, we kinda went for the same direction on our game haha (great minds they say...). Really relaxing game with great style and music, everything worked like a charm. I think you would have gained in simplicity by just allowing "UP" to climb instead of using another key to engage. The main character is absolutely adorable, no bugs staining that consistent cozy mood - very solid entry overall congrats on the team ! Also good job for updating the game, adding an AZERTY layout made me play the game - imo not enough games do those kind of quality of life features and it's totally fine to do them after the jam.
I really enjoy the art.what a funny game
What I liked most about this game was the graphics - they look very unique and unusual, like a child's drawings literally came off the wall, which is fun. But the controls felt very strange, especially at the end during the fight with Godzilla. The prompts didn't respond properly, so I ended up mashing random keys, and somehow it worked :)
I like the unique artstyle, I wish it would be consistently sharp though, Unity has an experimental package called `Vector Graphics` that allows you to use SVG files as textures in the sprite renderer, if you plan to stick to the artstyle (in your future games) I would recommend using that package along some tool that converts raster graphics into vector so you don't have to change your existing tooling. Dinosaurs!! I really enjoyed the game! It was a lot of fun to explore the area and the polaroid photos are SO cute. Love the crayon-like art style, too! :yellow_heart:
