the godot build jammed...
@tero-pulkkinen Dude that sucks. It is only for windows, maybe that's the issue. Could you tell me your specs and when it went wrong? Like I put in the description, there's a breakable object that tries to use the GPU, causing big lag on the webversion once
Very cute. I like your color scheme, cool!
It worked on Mac. The style is cool, expect green character on green starting area. And there are already several interactions. Also I d like to have more hints, what are the level goals
@jackshadow Great to hear! would have loved to add a proper tutorial beside the graffiti, but time wasn't on my side heheh. In any case the goal is just to master the machine and get loads of treasure :)
The graphics are neat even without sound. But the controls are complicated, and it gets stuck for a second after an interaction. I couldn't figure out where to throw the coals. The coals should be thrown with more force and some air movement horizontally would have helped with the fun factor.
@gsoutz have you tried charging your throw by holding the button? :3
I'm afraid the game needs more attention towards the controls and interactions, it just feels too hard to control. Adding interaction outlines, or control popups, would have been great. The concept is amazing though, and the artstyle is great, and I think I found the hidden button ;)
@r8teful Totally agree and I plan on continuing development on it with all the feedback :) Thank you for you feedback!
I love this art! Throwing mechanic is really promising
Not sure I understood what I was supposed to do, but I really like the art
@slow-chaz oh boi I got chazzzzzed. Thanks for your feedback :D
@transkuja yeah it really needs a (better) tutorial heheh
Very pleasant impression of the project! The graphics are a treat!)
очень забавная игрушка мне очень понравилась
@viscera спасибо за игру в мою игру
What a cool game! I like how tangible the physics makes everything. Picking up the coal and ball and throwing them felt really good. The sense of mystery around what the machine is and how to operate it was quite cool. I also adored the effect on the rooms fading in, it looks so cool. Great entry, thank you for making it!!
@jack-turpitt Thank you for the kind words ^w^
You have a nice start for a game that could be really something special. Controls need some work, and a tutorial is a real must.
Thanks for the play.
I love games where everything happens on a single screen.
There's something really cozy about not having to switch scenes or load new areas.

Did I win the game now? :joy:
Really like the game, took some time to understand, but I think it did good as a little puzzle.
@leorean That's one way of winning xD
@michal-babka Thank you for playing my game :3
art is so cute! I really liked the way you unlock rooms, simple but cozy game - bonus points for the goblin! <3
Really nice visuals and smooth animations!
@gaspar @holiwhirl Thanks for the kind words, y'all <3
Very interesting game. It was a bit hard to identify certain items as interactable, but the moment it 'clicked' for me I thought it was awesome :D
@fernofai Thank you for your feedback <3
I'm indeed looking into ways of making a more understandable tutorial without giving too much away. Something like a thought bubble instead of the exclamation mark and a hmmm sounds from the gobbo
Very interesting and unique game with a great style!
The levers on the ovens didn't seem to work for me as most of the time (even with coal in hand) interacting with them who do anything except for making me unable to move for pretty long time

I enjoyed the moment when everything clicked in my mind about being able to activate the furnaces and feed them with coal. Cute game, good effort for your first ludum dare!
I've found the character controller a little clunky - I went half insane trying to throw coal into the top engine.
To me, the game also lacked feedback & juice, especially for this kind of experience (which lives and dies by its character controller). For instance, a little dotted line giving a preview of the path of the ball before throwing it, which would also help communicate that holding the button charges the throw; some very simple particle effects like a little dust on the ground when the character jumps or land; some very simple SFXs, a tiny bit of screenshake... It would all have improved the game feel of the character by a lot, I think. But you are probably already aware of this, and I know it's hard to do in that short timespan!
The delineation between the rooms was also very unclear to me, once they were revealed, because of the floor and ceilings having no specific delineation. This makes (to my eye) the space as a whole feel pretty confusing and "melded together."
The effect of revealing the room progressively even while the character is already moving inside of the room was a little jarring for me as well, but that could also be an aesthetic choice and might be less strange with better feedbacks?
Anyways, good job, keep it up!
@fae-pdf First off, thank you for such detailed feedback! I indeed want to add way more juice to the game and I'm currently crafting up a roadmap for it with that on high priority. As for the rooms, I'm looking into making it a fog of war type interaction so that it really looks like lil Gobbo sees the room. The rooms are indeed a bit melded together and I plan to darken the foreground a bit more and give it a little parallax (or give the bg parallax, but that's be for testing). And again. Thank you so much for playig and commenting <3
Woo! Got gems.... and then I think I got stuck. Not sure it was worth it, considering I can't use the gems in the middle of wherever it is I was. Not really even sure it was a "where". Could have been a "when" for all I know.
I spammed all my keys to find a mysterious key but no luck :(
Oh well. Good visuals! shame about the audio. I know all too well how hard it is to get audio in (cause I always put so much of it in :P) You'll manage next time!
@langotriel woo! Thanks for playing bruv <3
Audio is indeed the first thing in line on my roadmap (which imma post the first draft of in a bit)
Very interesting little game! The handling is a bit inconvenient, but it doesn't stop me from being willing to keep trying for it! come on
Really liked the animation and the style of this puzzle game, the physics interactions for the controls are fun but agree that more juice would make them awesome. I did struggle with the puzzle itself at the start, so agree a little bit more of a tutorial or hint system might have helped.
Shame about the little bug where you get locked to a control if you're picking up the coal or ball, that slowed me down at the start. Good luck with audio, it's always been the last thing I do but it adds so much to a game. Thanks for making!
