First of all nice job for your work. I liked the art style, even though it's minimalist, it's well executed and we understand things quite easily. The game doesn't need any onboarding which is nice.

The two major issues I had that ruined a bit my experience were the really slow pace of the game. A huge demon that scares people is a nice idea, but it should give you the feel of power that, in my opinion, lacked here. And then, I don't know if it's due to a memory leak somewhere, but the game becomes more and more laggy over time until it's no longer playable with the WebGL build (I have not tested the downloadable PC version)

Good entry. I like the concept and art. Reminds me of King of the Monsters and Rampage. Controls should be listed...got it figured out, but it would be helpful.

coke 2024-10-08 01:21

@dashvirus Thanks for your feedback! Glad that you like the art style. And you're right the pace is a bit slow so that one level may spend more time, and because of the lacking of time I was not able to juice the monster's part so that they look not so kind of power. About the memory leaking part, seems like it only happened on web build.

coke 2024-10-08 01:24

@paroxysmal Thanks for the feedback! Glad the you like the art. I was thinking about the controls are not so hard to control so I was not print a control list. Maybe that will be helpful if I give it a shot.

A very interesting idea. I like the execution too, and the inversion of expectations with 'Tiny Creatures' as the theme. I think the monsters need to be sped up by a bit, as it takes a bit long for them to walk from building to building.

It's pretty quick to pick up what you're supposed to do, which is a good sign the 'beginning level' is working.

Also, a minor bug: the framerate started to tank hard when the monster started fighting the four tanks at level 3. I'm not sure what happened, but it got worse and worse the longer the game went, even after destroying the tanks. Eventually the music failed to play because of the framerate (I think)

Otherwise, very neat idea and implementation ^^

@davidsheadgames Thanks for your feedback! It's true that the speed is a bit slow, that will be better if goes faster. And the frame rate issue caused because I don't use draw patch so that the blood cost too much in web build, that'll be normal on desktop. Thanks again for playing!

foursay 2024-10-09 06:37

I like your concept of treating bad humans as tiny creatures and destroying them, lol. The vibe works grea, nice job! I did notice the music sounds a bit more distorted than it should, so you might have over-compressed it but that could just be me haha.

coke 2024-10-09 07:12

@foursay Thanks you for your feedback! The music's quality in web build was worse than the desktop idk why. That should be normal if you play on desktop version!

thefruckets 2024-10-09 07:24

The game was a very interesting experience I liked the idea but the game was ruined by the controls with the lack of immersive experience. The game became very laggy the longer I played it. The art was very simple which I liked but the game felt so slow that it took me away from the game. I struggled to get invested in the game but you worked hard and that does show. Keep up the work and try maybe develop the game a bit further I have popped a follow on itch to hopefully see the game develop further.

coke 2024-10-09 07:44

@thefruckets Thanks for your feedback and follow on itch.io! Not sure how further this game will keep development, but I will try to post a post jam version after the vote end. Thanks again for the follow!

human-writes-code 2024-10-09 09:00

Cool game. I love the art style and the little three pixel humans wandering around the city. Adding the tanks forced a bit more strategy into the gameplay and I could see this becoming much more challenging if you were to develop it further. The music suited the gameplay but it did get a bit repetitive after a while. I ran into a bit of a memory leak issue (I think) at the end of the third level and the game froze up but I had a good time playing it! Overall, good job!

coke 2024-10-09 09:06

@human-writes-code Thanks for the feedback! And glad that you like the art style and some other thing.

iwant-pizza 2024-10-09 09:10

I like visual style

sbeif 2024-10-09 09:11

As the others mentioned, the idea is nice but it would feel better with faster gameplay and more oomph to the destruction.

balimaarthebassfish 2024-10-09 09:19

I enjoyed my time playing this. I did find that summoning an extra demon in the level would rather severely slow the game down and made controlling them quite unresponsive. Despite that the game was fun!

coke 2024-10-09 09:44

@iwant-pizza @sbeif Thanks for the feedback!

coke 2024-10-09 09:46

@balimaarthebassfish Glad that you enjoy this game! Web build goes slowly as the game went on is my skill issue, I'll fix them after the vote end.

mrpossoms 2024-10-09 12:33

Liked the music, style and art, but unfortunately the progressively worsening lag issue prevented me from finishing :(

mrbananaz 2024-10-09 12:34

Is this catzilla? Great job, a cool mechanic, would like to be able to speed it up from the getgo tho.

steel465 2024-10-09 12:38

Overall I really enjoy the concept of the game. The art style, despite being minimalist, is pleasing to look at. However the game does have some lag issues, and the monsters feel too slow. Despite the issues mentioned, still enjoyed the game.

multiplexor 2024-10-09 12:41

Nice game! Controls were smooth and the idea is very nice! i wish there had been some more variety in monsters so that it felt a bit more strategic.

Also, for some reason the game slowed down to a crawl when i stayed too long inside a level (ended up not being able to complete level 3 due to it)

Regardless of those issues, all in all Great entry! keep up the good work! <3

planetary 2024-10-09 12:43

Even if it has 3 levels, I enjoyed! The giant monster movement took me some time to figure out! The problem with the HTML5 build is that the game starts to slow down until it crashes.

By the way, the pixel art and the animations are nice! The audio is a little bit repetitive, but is ok. Good job!

thesand 2024-10-09 12:51

Great fun game, really like the consept! But got ear blasted by the game on start up, so would've been nice with a way to turn it off or lower it :) Another note, would be to speed the demons up a tiny bit, cause on level 2 it took quite some time to complete, without any player input. But other than that a great entry for this ludum dare! Well done :)

goodwincek 2024-10-09 13:21

https://youtu.be/7VqRiHXeqkM Very cool proof of concent! I like the idea of mixing deckbuilding with controlling your units too. I really liked the monster's pixel art design!

mahobear8 2024-10-09 14:25

Started experiencing severe lag partway into level 1 after I placed my second Demon 😿

mars 2024-10-09 14:25

I like the concept, and the illustrations are nice! The soundtrack is cool, although maybe a little harsh to the point of becoming a little grating after hearing it repeat multiple times.

The gameplay could probably do with being a little faster, especially in the second level where you only had one demon to do all the job. You're kind just waiting, not really playing.

coke 2024-10-10 03:19

@mrpossoms Sorry for the lag issue! And glad that you like the music, style and art!

coke 2024-10-10 03:20

@mrbananaz Yep that would be better if monsters speed could be faster

coke 2024-10-10 03:22

@steel465 Glad that you like my game! Lagging issue and speed too slow will be fixed on the post jam version if have.

coke 2024-10-10 03:27

@multiplexor Thank you for the feedback! I was assume to make more monsters but due to the time I was not able to finish them.

The lag issue I was not able to fix it on the jam version as many people mentions. Sorry for it!

Thanks again for playing my game!

coke 2024-10-10 03:33

@planetary Thanks for feedback! Glad that you like the game and the graphics! I'll fix the crash on the web build asap after the vote end!

That's true the music is a bit repetitive, because I was supposed that music was made for menu. But I don't have the other time to make another musics.

coke 2024-10-10 03:38

@thesand Thanks for feedback! You're right that will be better if I have a button to muse or change the volume. And idk why the music on web build has a worse quality than desktop.

The level2 has a bad design for players cost more time to waste rather than strategy. Sorry for it! And the speed is a bit too slow for clear the level.

coke 2024-10-10 03:40

@goodwincek Thanks for recording the video! And sorry for web build caused crash at last:(

Glad that you like it!

coke 2024-10-10 03:42

@mahobear8 Sorry for the lag issue! That will be fixed on the post jam version. And thank you for trying!

coke 2024-10-10 03:46

@mars Thank you for the feedback! Glad that you like it. And as many people mentions the music was a bit repetitive, sorry for it!

The second level has a bad design because I make players wait too long. And that's right monsters should have a faster speed.

Thanks again for playing my game!

thyoi 2024-10-11 17:14

I really like your background. It looks co cool

(btw I draw you this XP)

oysterhey 2024-10-14 14:17

Nice game! It seemed a little slow overall, and I ran into some stuttering in level 3. Still, impressive!

coke 2024-10-15 00:48

@oysterhey Thanks for feedback! Some issues will be fixed on the post jam version
