Really good art style! I love the character! The guide is a little bit vague, actually I don't know how to play at first, the display of default key bindings is a little bit strange at first? I don't know whether it's a bug, but I think it can be better with more clear instructions :)
@anima-animus049 Hi! Thank you very much for your feedback. After reading it, I decided to add a tutorial for the player to complete before the first level. If possible, could you try playing my game again?
@anima-animus049 I also fixed some of the bugs and softlocks, and also lowered the difficulty of the game a bit, so it should be more enjoyable to play.
Strong vibe, well done! I expected more levels or faster gameplay. I liked the game. P.S. What’s with your profile photo ?! 0_0
Settings do not work, so the music was very quiet. Weak feedback, but overall I enjoyed the gameplay!
I downloaded a version of the game where texts are wrong, where all lower body key shows E. Please fix it.
Overall I find the game too easy, thus unappealing.
I see you showed some horror image in the description, and I was not able to reach that far in the game.
I despise rhythm games yet yours seemed innovative and fun. Great visuals!!! verityverityverity
Although I don't feel a strong connection to the topic, who doesn't like beautiful girls!
@crotonyl-alcohol Hi! Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the bindings... that's quite unusual. But you can change the button bindings in the settings anyway, which also changes them on the sticker. Regarding the difficulty: during the game's development, the timing for pressing was about 1.5 times shorter (1.4 seconds now, but it was about a 0.9-1.0s, and only 0.1s for the "perfect" timing). The obstacles themselves were also more frequent and flew faster (7s now vs 4s then). I've received several comments from friends about the difficulty being too high, so much so that they couldn't even get past the second level and see the story. Have you completed all levels of the game? If possible, could you tell me if you found levels 3/4/5 difficult? Have you reached the end (3:00 on the clock)? Are you more annoyed by the slow speed of obstacles, or by their small number?
@crotonyl-alcohol I would be very grateful for your answer, because due to the large amount of playtime during the development stage, it is hard for me to estimate the difficulty myself.
@kryakikrya The speed of obstacles. I normally spend half of the time waiting for the obstacle to come.(maybe a little exaggerated, but it really was frustrating to wait for that long) Regarding the UI, I also found right click to be "choose", and failed to use space to do the same.(it showed two 'choose' on the UI lmao)
@dirtycoat I was trying to create something like an old console simulator. Maybe tech from 2000-2010 is not that old, but for me it's quite nostalgic. To make the screen look similar to the old one, I added several shaders to the console screen: stripes on the screen, fisheye, bloom, and also made most of the sounds similar to the old games (I was inspired by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997))
@evelyn-rudaleva fixed <(^_^)>
@crotonyl-alcohol Thanks for the reply! I've reduced the obstacle move time (7s -> 5.5s) and also increased the damage from incorrect actions by 1.5-2 times. Regarding the spacebar and right-click: right-click selects an application (Main-menu only), and spacebar confirms a dance during gameplay. For the first 2.5 days of development, this was all done with one key (spacebar), but sometimes I'd die (while holding spacebar), causing the level in the menu to be restarted immediately. This could have been fixed by adding a delay or something, but I decided to simply separate the bindings.
Good art style, and music in the right place. Maybe in some moments gameplay a litle difficult, but I had some fun when I played.
Pretty cool game, the art is really nice. I think the game is still a little bit too easy. Also, on the story parts, it would be nice to have an indicator that the story has ended and you could exit, I spent 2 minutes just pressing random stuff on my keyboard and I though the game softlock. But overall, pretty cool game!
NO WAY THE IDEA IS SO PEAAAK!!?!!? the artstyle is amazing and i love the naive atmosphere but horror part is absolute perfection
@dimanuello @neeko69 Hi! I found it interesting that two comments with completely different opinions were posted back-to-back (one saying the game was too hard, the other saying it was too easy). So, I decided to add difficulty settings! Now, in the menu, you can choose whether to play the easy or hard version of a level. Hardmode is more challenging in every way: there are more obstacles, they move faster, and the click frame is smaller. I also fixed the issue where it wasn't clear when the comic ended.
It's funny, it took some getting used to the controls, but it generally happens quickly. A special plus for the tobacco cat and cute art.
Cheriku has a lot of charm and the art style is really nice. The desktop-style menu with apps is a fun framing for a rhythm game, and the custom outfits are a cute touch. The key hints were a bit confusing at first, so the tutorial you added is a good call. Nice work.
A really cool stylization, I don’t even recall seeing anything similar
OMG the visual style is so cute!!! Love the theme too.
Very cute art, a bit nostalgic to the 2010's internet which was perfect for this theme. I'm not particularly good at rhythm games, and didn't realize I had to also time hitting the frame, not just the pose - smooth brain moment, reinforced by the fact that it still unlocked the next story/song section. Once that clicked for me I was fine though. Very good for a jam entry!
@profugo-barbatus It's so nice to receive such kind feedback <3 By the way, the fact that the level unlocks regardless of the level result was just a bug, but I decided to keep it because I thought it was useful for players. I'm glad it helped you.
wow :()
Really interesting game! I enjoyed it a lot, especially the music mechanics. And I absolutely loved the soundtrack!
The only thing I'd change is removing the need to press the spacebar, since it feels a bit inconvenient. I'd also make the game about three times faster, maybe even on Hard difficulty, because right now it's pretty easy to beat.
Of course, removing the spacebar mechanic would make it even easier, but I think the faster pace would make the gameplay feel much more dynamic and exciting.
Overall, really cool game! I had a great time playing it!
omg the art is so cute I love it!! All of the art was great from the character design to even the UI! the control scheme is so different from other rhythm games which is awesome. I had a lot of fun learning and getting the muscle memory down. All of the lil extras like costumes were super fun. Definitely my favorite jam game I've played so far!
This is a cool concept. I had to rewire my brain for the controls, for they are rather unique but it worked out. This is very impressive. There is a lot of great art involved with this one. Great work!
Absolutely adorable game! The artwork is really really beautiful and I love all the little references scattered around the game. The UI is also very well done, responsive and really brings the mid 2000s heisei aesthetics to the screen. I feel that the gameplay has a lot of potential, but you kinda undersold it balancing it to the easy side, I feel that the game end up being a tad too easy and this makes the rhythm gameplay feel less engaging, but the mechanic itself combined with the art makes for a really nice flow and could be one of those extremely difficult yet very rewarding rythm games like Osu :) I adore the way she dances through the music!
Overall a really interesting project, visually beautiful and intriguing, adorable even in the peak yandere moments. Has a lot of potential if rebalanced! :) Great job! Thank you for the game!
Очень прикольно, выделяется на фоне другим ритм игр, которые есть на людуме. Крутые визуал и дополнительные возможности по типу скинов на персонажа
I completed all levels. I usually suck at rhythm games but this game is pretty easy and gives a lot of time to think.
The art is very cute but the gameplay gets repetitive after a couple of levels.
Ahhh this looks so good but windows only :(( wish there was a Mac or web build
Hiii!! 💖 This is such a fun and cute rhythm game! I love the idea of dancing with Cheriku and being able to customize her in the store. The whole experience feels so playful, and the music makes it even more enjoyable! 🎶👀 But now I'm a little scared of what happens at 3 AM... 😂 Amazing work! 💃✨
The artwork is very well executed. The attention given to the CRT (tube television) effect also shows that a great deal of care went into the game's visual development. The gameplay is quite easy. It could have been a bit more challenging, especially since the character's poses involve movements that are simple to type out. I imagine the goal wasn't to make the game difficult—as the focus was elsewhere—but being too easy makes it a bit dull and lacking in challenge. After 3 AM, the game becomes much more... (it’s a secret!)
Thank you, and congratulations!
